Au contraire, I found it super friendly and people in every role more than willing to engage. Would say this was up there with the best Salutes… and I blew spondulics accordingly
that sounds great. I spent a bit and then on the way home remembered I'd forgotten to buy some specific bits I'd seen in the morning. Partizan isn't far away, if I remember.
Excellent video and commentary. A charming, talented ,sociable and gregarious gentleman like yourself should never be ignored. Heartbreaking. As you suggested, there should be outgoing public communicators for every game or display. Not nice to be excluded like that. Reminds me of the misery of childhood.
There were some great tables there, lots of food for thought! Lucky for me that i had Brian and Colin doing the engagement whilst I run the participation game.
Thank you for posting the pics. We missed the rest of the show as we were busy with our games all day, so really appreciate people taking the effort to post this stuff online (our tables are on here from 7:41 to 7:55 ) 😁 - Thanks again!
Hi P&G, great set of pictures. Fabulous to see so many of the games 👍. Very sorry we didn’t speak to you on either of our ‘Friends of General Haig’ tables. It is tricky to balance keeping the game moving and talking to people. On the Dirschau table I was chief ‘chatter’ and was still talking at 5pm, but we obviously need to think about more ‘chatters’ and less playing still. 😀 My step count and stand count were very good on Saturday too 😅.
Many thanks for taking the time to present us with some great photos. I do tend to agree with you that the lighting this year was quite poor which had not appeared to be a problem in previous years. It was heartening to see so many people there and some very creative table layouts which is always quite inspiring.
Thanks for the video. I too found the lighting too dim. It is a very high ceiling but I would have liked it brighter. I had some engagement with the people at the games, but maybe the southerners tendency not to say hello led to this.
you're not wrong, we are an unsociable bunch. I often say hello to random strangers as we pass in the street or countryside and often people seem surprised or caught off guard
Great photos, couldn't make this year's show, so nice to get a glimpse. All the tables looking fantastic, did you miss the "club night" tables? With 6000 pairs of feet through the door it would be hard to engage with a lot of onlookers, but I have found that issue at small shows . Enjoyed the music, at one stage in my life a woman was going to walk down the aisle to marry me to that "tune", luckily I ended up with someone else who is wonderful.
thank you, not sure what the club night tables were, but if they were the small square tables with one chair either side, I missed most of those, mainly because most were fantasy stuff which I'm not really interested in.
@@PaintGlue I feel embarrassed saying this but club night games is the less than flattering name given to games that haven't put much effort in. Green cloth with felt roads type of thing, which you wouldn't find at any local club every week. Nothing wrong with them, very enjoyable games, but the bar has been raised so high on presentation they are not going to get a second look.
Looks empty to previous years and a poor foot fall again, another poor showing. They really need to changed the venue and put it out of London! most likely traders from overseas didn't again travel due to costs etc in London. Partisan and Hammerhead seem to be the shows to go to
The vast bulk of traders were UK-based even before Brexit. Also not so keen on the venue, windowless and in the weird urban jungle that is Docklands. But if you’re in the UK, to coin a phrase, all roads lead to London.
@@redscope897 - I think last year’s SELWG venue in north London was a little more human friendly than the Excel centre, which is in the middle of nowhere.
@@sirrathersplendid4825 a few people have said it's like that every year but I'm not sure I've noticed before, it struck me as soon as I got in but hasn't in previous years.
@@PaintGlue - All the same, there’s something deeply unnerving about the ExCel centre. It’s just so vast. And to cap it all, the bar prices are just horrible. I’m normally quite happy in Central London to shell out for a swift pint but not there.
Great video, kind regards from OMAHA WARGAMES.
thank you

that intro alone earned you a sub, keep going mate!
That's great, thank you!
I had a blast with my family. Didn't have any issues with lights or finding people at the tables to talk to.
that's great. maybe I don't look very friendly!

Is there a retailer that sells painted 28mm western cowboys and outlaw figures that you recommend?

We certainly spoke to everyone who came to our table
what was your table?

Lighting is always like that, has been all the time the show has been there. Unfortunately there is very little engagement at shows now.
maybe it's just old age with worse eyesight, but noticed it particularly this year.
