Approx 2 month ago My right knee started to have pain when I put the left one on it with side sleeping , then started snapping or cracking sound , then developed pain that comes and goes multiple times in seconds around both sides ,and front side(where quad ends) , tender to put on pressure , feeling snapp sensation or tick sensation when going up to stairs , after few days the same steps gone to effect the left one , it developed same problems with the right one
After one month I felt that when I am in sitting position on floor and my knees are bended , when I put my bended knee on floor , I felt like bones of knee are making contact or something like that (No pain associated)
NB: No Trauma or injury related.
      Any Help please?

Thank you, I had a meniscus tear and I could feel it, move it, it was really painful. The surgeon asked me, does it hurt enough to do surgery? I said "yes please!". I had an arthroscopy three weeks ago, I still don't have full mobility, I have to walk with a limp, but I do feel it's because of pain and swelling from the surgery. When I bend and extend, I feel the movement is smooth, everything is okay and I don't feel any weird body like I used to. I hope to fully recover and continue strengthening my legs.

Hi y’all I torn my meniscus, it’s been 4 months , I didn’t do surgery. At first I could not walk and my knee would give out on me when I would walk but it doesn’t lock on me, I can’t go fully deep squat without a bit of pain but I started running again about a month ago , I still feel it kinda unstable at times. I haven’t done any exercises to help but for the most part I’m doing good, if you’re trying to get back into sports he very careful if you do alot of quick turn what I would recommend is using a knee brace or athletic tape , wrap it as tightly as you comfortably can, I’m going to get surgery to clean out my knee as soon as I finish indoor soccer haha

I do loaded squats, calf raises and deadlifts with proper form. I do have bow legs. (Bow legged outwards). And my meniscus are both medial. I am also 52 years old. Would the bow legs be the culprit?

My surgeon told me it's aging and wear and tear abd you can get a torn meniscus from simply getting up and turning in a weird position suddenly or falling. I actually fell on mine. I have osteoarthritis too. As we get older it just gets more prevalent. He also said when you get in one the other one usually has the same issue. It's just normal.

I (49M) tore my meniscus (heard a crack) after a minor jump 7 months ago. The discomfort got worse. The doctor said surgery may not help. I got arthroscopic surgery anyway. Doctor noted only 25% upper cartilage remains. Meniscus had a 25% tear. No stitches required. 6 weeks since surgery and Swelling is worse. Pain is constant but not as sharp. Lots of fluid in knee. Really hurts on stairs and when I first wake up. Biking is very helpful as are these exercises. Going to get a cortisol shot and keep exercising.

If I can flex my knee joint fully with gradual stretching (foot too butt) but there is some tightness and pain, is it good to keep gently working on it slowly until the knee joint can fully flex? Or, is this injuring the meniscus more and I should accept a lesser range of motion until the pain is gone and meniscus is healed, and then resume stretching when the pain is gone. Again, it's not terrible pain, but more of a tightness that I'm able to work past with gradual stretching over 10 minutes or so.
