Hi Backpack Gringo, alot of times I will pre book hotels, tours and excursion before the trip through online website and pay by credit card. Since Argentina has two exchange rates, is it cheaper for me to wait and arrive in Argentina first before booking excursions and pay by cash?
Great question. It could be possible to get a more favorable local rate paying in cash in person, but I would most likely just keep it simple and purchase via card ahead of your trip. Pre booking things is usually the safer option and it’s what I would do as well. Plus who knows if later on, there becomes no availability for your hotel / excursions. Better safe than sorry ☺️

I nearly dressed in flip flops for my trip! Happy to know I should be bringing something warmer instead. Thanks!

That’s crazy that there are two exchange rates 😮
We were surprised to learn the same thing! Definitely good to know beforehand 😁
