Subbed for you explosing me to TenTen and Frederick Arthur Bridgman. As to answer your question what I want you to cover next is this same exact topic this video covered in the greatest detail you can achieve. Essetinally extrapolate all that TenTen has done into your own video content. What I'm in search of is a very easy to understand 'pre figure' assembled piece by piece from multiple angles that I can follow along and absorb into my work. It gives me just enough to get a piece of artwork done from the surface level only but if I want to go deeper (ex: what if my character's stomach got blasted open by telekinesis?) I would have to study that myself. Knowing which surface landmarks to make sure I pay attention to (ex: liliac crests)... that's f--king huge. Make a video series where it can take someone from little to no art skill to making a thier own blocky TenTen pre figures would be what I would suggest.
@@kimochiwarui8264 nope it's more like self observation study just looking on tenten art and breaking everything out also he has a study too where you can see how he do some of his studies
Great video Rice, Nice to see more TenTen Studying. An Absolutely Insane artist who's carved his own place out of everyone who's a student of bridgeman, almost like he carves them shapes in his figures haha
1:36 untrue, the clavicles can move independently from the ribcage, theyre connected to the scapula on the back. Its completely seperate from the ribcage.
im studying from tenten's art course 2023, which needs over 100 hours to go through almost 50 videos. Tenten would destroy you if he saw you used boxes like that even after studying from his artworks.
I got his enormous book, it's fantastic but also in Chinese. I hit him up on twitter and asked for an English copy. He could make a ton of money with an English conversion. Awesome video, I enjoyed it a lot.
Ten ten actually published the book but it’s all in Chinese so I would want to get it, but I hate foreign books because if I use AI to translate them it’s always wonky
@@ricebrush yeah, there's so many cool Japanese anatomy, books and other like Asian books that they never translate. Same with German books. There's a lot of really cool German famous books that we just never get in English
@@JoJoboiWav that’s cool but I could probably get a similar result by just translating it and I’d rather have like a translated physical copy. I don’t really like PDFs I just like physical books. It’s kind of my thing but if it’s the only way to read it properly I would get it.
I studied all these little systems in college, and they can help a little, but the only thing that really works is actually learning anatomy. You need to really know what the bones look like and how the muscles attach, and the shape of cartilage. And you need to see actual people in actual poses to bring it all together. Everything else is just a gimmick.
Basically knowing anatomy and it's basic 3d forms, combine it all together and viola! My mistake back then was learning JUST anatomy and not perspective/forms, so my drawings always ended up being stiff in general.
@kls_drawffer I fixed that kind of problem by just drawing millions (probably literally millions) of stick figures. If you can make stick figures look natural, your fully formed figures will look great.
Here's question. It's kind of difficult for me to transform cube into soft-ish piece-of-human form. Can this said stuff in video work on ovals, ellipses and rounds?(I'm learning 2d animator,, btw)
Where do you get these cool-looking reference photos? I have a few Japanese photo reference books (with semi-nude models), but aside from that, I can never find good photos online that show the figure well.
The way he shades his forms is interesting. He limits his value range to where there is almost no contrast between the lightest lights and darkest darks. I'm new to his work and only now paying attention to it, but I think I just became a fan

funny thing is to draw those diagrams, blocking etc that tenten does - you need to be very good at drawing/painting in the first place - in other words it's pointless
@@GweniswasntTakenNot to mention the tendency to have much more varied clothing, accessories, and hairstyles allowing for greater creative freedom. Dudes are (mostly) boring 😐
TenTen didn't study Bridgeman, he straight up plagarized his stuff in his early days when posting on Chinese social media. As soon as he got onto Artstation, everyone forgave him however. It's another Ilya Kushinov situation (though TenTen atleast learnt to draw his stuff eventually, Ilya still traces).
A master for sure!
This is by far one of the best tutorials ever, going over the simple things as actual simple things helps a ton
"you eventually map out the form of the body in your head" is very important and requires a lot of practice and 99% of people wont do it.
I don't have much of an option, aphantasia kinda stuck it to me. I can still think about it, I just can't visualize it.
i think you’re going to do well. Your edits and sense of humor go really well together

Why do artists only draw women ?
I’ve comitted my self to drawing both it’s a hard temptation to stop
I can't speak for all but personally I find the female body more aesthetic and fun to draw with the curves and counter curves
