Kev, your videos are great, and you have an excellent on camera personality. I’m thinking about you and your family as you battle your medical condition. Keep sharing the love and know I’m sending it your way, too. Have a great Christmas! I know you’ll be whipping up something badass for your holiday dinner.
I smoke loads of sea salt every year and jar it up... works great for getting a real smoke flavor into meats when you can't smoke them!! Looks great man! We used to 15 briskets in the oven at a time at a catering company I work for.. They turned out amazing and people loved it. Pretty dang close to exactly how you did yours.
Hey Kev! I'm from NC and no prejudice here! That looks amazing! You have inspired me to try that method. I do not have a outdoor setup as I live in the wilderness of southern Colorado now. Great work as always bro!
Also from NC here, at the family restaurant I work at we do our pork butts in the oven low and slow (don’t worry, we don’t call ourselves a BBQ joint lol) and I gotta say, it does the trick. It’s not gonna win any awards at a festival but it’s some good/easy pulled pork.
Gus is a great assistant Kev and Im sure he never gives bad reviews when he gets a taste of those fabulous meat recipes! Great to see hanging with your girls during the holidays! Speaking of which Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Wishing you prosperity and a healthy recovery for 2024! Lotta people in your corner rootin for ya Old Skool! Peace out!!!
Damn Kev, that looks awesome! First time I learned how to do a brisket in the oven was when I worked in the kitchen at a burger/taco shop. Her recipe was 6 hours in the oven, tented with foil. Like you said, missing smoke but was totally killer. Not to mention always sold out. Right on Kev!
Yeah, I was kind of surprised he didn't spritz it or put some fat on it. There has been tons of prime rib sales last several weeks and I have made several 😂 I season them with a mixture of olive oil, microplaned garlic, cracked pepper and fresh rosemary and thyme and then bake using a certain method. Started saving that super flavored beef Tallow for steaks and you just gave me an idea to use it for this 🤘🤙
Besides the obvious, another thing I like about your videos is that you have a great voice. You would make a great voice-over for movies, commercials, etc.
Yes and if you want to keep it really hot, fill the cooler with very hot water first. Leave the hot water in there for a while, then dump, dry, and put the brisket in.
Smoked or not...I love everything about that sandwich (specially that jalapeno mayo)...I'd need some cheese on mine. Not everyone has a smoker or a place where they can smoke stuff, so ty again.
Sweet shirt. Saw Dead in Greensboro, NC ca. 1990ish. In the Dark tour, I think. I super appreciate what Mayer is/was doing for Jerry's legacy. He's a fitting heir to be sure. Oteil ain't too shabby either 😉. I hung out with him a bit during the aquarium rescue unit days. Love the channel and keep well 👍
I’ve had both smoked brisket and in the oven and I like them I lived in Texas (bbq country) and they have amazing bbq but like you said a lot of people don’t have a smoker or even a grill so a oven is fine 🤷🏾♂️
I been looking for a good oven brisket recipe. Most on youtube call for a smoker. Living in Chicago, I dont really have space for one. Will definetely try this one. Thannks Kev. ✌️
Kev! First, thanks for posting and doing this! I know a lot of folks who live in cities say they can't make good BBQ because they can't grill. You definitely showed them the way! I actually prefer making my pulled pork in a slow cooker because it's so easy that way! And you're right, the only thing missing is smokey flavor, but the rest is still spot on. Second, give Gus some brisket!! LOL!
I definitely want to try and make this. I like to cook a little bit but don't know how to grill at all so I don't even own a grill, but this is something that I can definitely see myself actually making
From ,north Carolina ,serious about this and I'm loving your vidio I am gonna try this definitely, keep the strength and Bless you and your family ,I really like it when you do vidios with your daughter yall look great❤❤❤
Please start buying them at your local green/organic store, if possible. I know its still processed, but when the crave hits, sometimes you need the treat. Seems like more and more of the large name brand processed items are made with GMO wheat, so be careful.
@@thomast8539dude, half the stuff you buy that says organic completely is not. They always add garbage into the mix, even if the so-called natural things are organic. Non-caking ingredients, preservatives, chemical coloring , the list goes on and on. And anything closely resembling processed food is always just as processed as any other. About the only thing you're going to buy not processed is raw meats, raw vegetables and some dairy products along with eggs. Not trying to down what you're saying, just saying, unless those organic pop-tarts stays the hell of a lot better they're should not worth double the money in this economy. Definitely not any healthier because sugar is the most unhealthy thing there is
@@thomast8539you dorks gotta stop with the gmo bad blanket statement. Organic stuff is worse off half the time as well. I’m all for unprocessed down to roots stuff but you guys seem to think with your feelings.
Wishing you and yours the best holiday season ever and a new year full of miracles. With deep thanks for your many generous, humorous, informative hours of work over the past years to keep us all cooking better and eating more happily.
Kevin, consider adding a tray of water in the oven with the beef, so the oven stays nice and humid! makes for even juicier end result! keep at it brother
Coming from someone that lives in the BBQ heartland (Texas duh), a Weber Kettle with a Slow N Sear charcoal basket is an EXCELLENT affordable way to smoke a brisket using a dual zone method!
I like the liquid smoke but they also make a powder seasoning smoke you can put the liquid smoke in some water in bottom of that pan with the rack you can also put a tuna can in the oven with some wood pellets and light it with your oven vent on..
Yum! Love the oven method! Please be careful with how often you use foil heating directly with food, it is toxic bad chemicals and leaches into the food 💪💗🙏
I can do that! Ty ! I have got some many great cooking ideas from you! I’m praying for you and your health. I’m thrilled to see you are eating good. That glazed donut the other day! How can you eat that whole thing and stay nice and thin! Take life easy. ❤

What he said! Big hug going your way.
What an ass kisser lol
This!
Great video! I can't be the only one who nods back when he nods while looking into the camera.
Your daughter is pretty. She has a radiant smile.
This man is one of the few creators I would like to meet. Always impressive work and innovation. The family dynamic is really what draws me closer.

I'll have to look into smoking the salt! That something I can find pretty easily online?
How does the high feel? How long have you been addicted to smoking sea salt?
@@JustSendMeLocation Nice! 😆😆

Sounds like you're in the perfect place to make an outdoor setup, unless you're afraid it will attract bears

Impossible to hate on this guy. This looks killer!!
Nothing wrong with oven bbq! Work with what you have! Looks delicious :)

idk if its proper to marinate a brisket but if so mabey pick a marinade and add some liquid smoke??
Your cat probably smelled it all day and was like, I better have some!! Ya are sweet, I’m hungry for bbq now hehe ❤ much love!!
I’m never disappointed with your videos. Top notch 😄
Oven BBQ is pretty good in my experience, or even slow cooking in a skillet with a cover lol.
I do a pretty similar setup for bbq baby back ribs in the oven and they always turn out fantastic
I do briskets in the oven all the time. They come out great, some liquid smoke, keep it moist with apple cider, wrap with tallow and it's delicious

Kev you nailed it! Looks awesome
Love that you’re a Dead Head! Reminds me of my favorite Bay Area radio personality, Paulie Mac. Cheers Kev!
Got to love the fam jumping in with the big smile...
Happy holidays
Seriously sir. You are a real treat. ❤
It looks absolutely amazing Kev! I really hope treatment is going great, I'm rooting for you!
Favorite video in a while Kev. Hope you’re doing well and I hope you are enjoying the holiday season. Thanks for all the amazing content.
Looking good in the neighborhood
This guy one of the coolest dudes TH-camrs around! Loved the hot sauce vids
If you have a cooler big enough, after towel wrapping you can toss it in there and it’ll stay even warmer for even longer - looks amazing!!
Yes and if you want to keep it really hot, fill the cooler with very hot water first. Leave the hot water in there for a while, then dump, dry, and put the brisket in.
Love you bro. Wishing you and the fam a Merry Christmas.
Respect for not using liquid smoke, I’m not a fan either. Good to see that you’re spending time with family these holidays. Merry Christmas kev!
You really inspire me to try new things in the kitchen all the time Kev! This looks so good I just might have to give it a try!
Oh, I love Brisket cooked in the oven. I don't like liquid smoke either. Love a Brisket sandwich with baked beans and potato salad. Yummy!!!!

Kev you are a gentleman and a scholar.
Just chillin' in the kitchen surrounded by the family, can't ask for anything better in the world man...
The apartment I live in doesn't allow for any type of BBQ whatsoever so I'm going to give this a go, Looks delish! Thanks Kevmo!

Looks awesome! Gus is also watching pretty closely what is going on... 😁👍🏼
I've done it like this for 5 years. That's what's up it's for real barbecue. 👍
That is so Awesome, thank you for your video.😊
What treats! Yum!
Kevmo, I can only imagine how great Christmas dinner from you is, my friend. This was fantastic. Looks incredible.
Awesome job kev
I'm always skeptical of oven cooked BBQ. But your techniques and practices were sound. And that brisket looks just right
Looks awesome! Only thing I would’ve done differently is just a few tabs of butter on the wrap.
I like the liquid smoke but they also make a powder seasoning smoke you can put the liquid smoke in some water in bottom of that pan with the rack you can also put a tuna can in the oven with some wood pellets and light it with your oven vent on..
Deeeelicious 😋🎄
Liquid smoke works well actually.
Love to see your beautiful daughters. Looks like a great brisket.
Good job, Kev! Looks FANTASTIC!!
God bless you my friend ❤
Loving your content 👍🏼
Im with ya Kev! Liquid smoke is nasty, reminds me of the gunk that drips off a wood burning stove pipe 😂
Keep it up brother beautiful food beautiful family.. always looking forward to seeing your videos 😁
Kitty!! 😻😻😻😻
Looks like a solid technique to me! Merry Christmas! 🎉🍖🍻
What a treat, enjoy 😊
Your house must’ve smelled amazing
Sometimes u can't get to ur smoker. Looks awesome. Cheat BBQ.
That looks great!!
I like how your face always has that “I’m sorry” expression.
Love your videos Kev! Always a treat!
Nice. Definitely made me a new follower
Happy holidays to you and family Kev !
Yum! Love the oven method! Please be careful with how often you use foil heating directly with food, it is toxic bad chemicals and leaches into the food 💪💗🙏

Looked like some 10/10 briquet
Great video that sandwich got me hungry

Yo kev👋 if you do this again, try adding a lil apple juice, some brown sugar & a bunch of butter in the foil for the bake.
