@@MultiFabregas4 Living almost my whole life among the Scandinavians I learned some things about the attitude, the prejudice, the jealousy and other attributes. I wish things were as simple as that, sportwise. I am sorry, just being honest. I am 51 now so I know what I am talking about.
@@pellevanlig245 I dont know what hole you lived in, but you havent been very much into handball if you dont know that Danes have loved Balic for many years. We used to have a female handball player (Anja Andersen) who was the closest you get to Balic in playing style, I think the fact that he reminds us of her has also been the reason why so many danes love him. Pretty much anyone I know would cheer for Croatia if they were playing France, Spain, Germany etc.

When i start playing handball not so long ago my godfather told me do you know who is Ivano Balic? Ofc at the time i said know but then i felt in love with the sport and wanted to know more about his history and then i found him and what can i say he is One of the Greatest🙌

I'm not even sure there will ever be a player like Balic again. No one even comes close to the genius that Balic displayed. When he stopped playing, handball became a little less interesting.

In football we have, for example, Maradonna and Messi, in tennis McEnroe, Sampras and Federar, in basketball M.Jordan. Balic turned handball into something no one had seen before - he turned handball into pure art.
No one has yet reached the same artistic heights as Balic and I wonder if anyone ever will.

@@LouiseAndersen1991 Nikola is a great player of course, very consistent too, but in terms of raw talent, as an individual playmaker, Ivano is untouchable. The guy never fails to amaze. Perhaps Andy Schmid comes a distant second, that's what I think.

At his best, he was the best to ever play. (Only Talant Dujshebaev at his best comes close.)
Sadly, he wasn't at his best for most of his career, and even when he was, he could be uninspired. Also, not a good defender.
That is why he, in my opinion, is not the greatest ever, but will have to settle for best ever.
I may be biased but to me,the undisputed goat of his sport. To put it in terms of basketball,passing ability of magic and lebron and scoring ability of jordan. It was a joy to watch him
