Love this old song! It was one of the first songs I learned to play when my dad taught me to play about 20 years ago.. George Jones was one of his favorites and and he use to play and sing this song so good too!! He's been resting in Heaven for almost 6 yrs now. This song reminds me of him big time!! Great song and very easy to play.. I love the sound of the G7 going into the C.. great job Mr Marty!!

Hey there Marty, great version of a really great Country Song. I am just now teaching myself to play this on Guitar, but to make it easier, and less complicated for me, I am only learning the 3 Chord Version of G,C, and D.

You do a great job singing and this is another EZ 3-4 chord song. I cant walk and chew gum so playing and singing is a CHALLENGE. Most teach how to change chords based on lyrics, this appears to be one song of many difficult to do. Can assist us on how to sing AND play? Keep up the good work.
+parneypots It's the old cliche, practice, practice, practice. I could never sing and play until I felt totally comfortable playing a guitar. Once I felt comfortable with my chord changes I could concentrate more on singing properly and then it all just clicked. Be patient and put in the time, it will come. Simply easy and great tutorials, but any chance of the tabs being shown on the bottom of the screen, I know most of these songs, but not the chord progression.
I'm afraid i'm not equipped for that, by design actually. The more you practice the better you recognize the chord shapes. I do this on purpose so the student has to practice to get results. Hope this helps, good luck in your learning.

It is an Epiphone Hummingbird, so I guess it's a fake but I love the look of it and it sounds great too. One day I'll have the real Black humming Bird, but she will do for now
Can you explain the strumming pattern you are using in more detail?
It's a really slow strumming pattern that is the same through the whole song, it goes like this duduudu duduudu duduudu, I hope this helps, good luck with it. And remember to strum the strings really lightly
