    I get so many ideas for my home when I watch this show.
    Christina has really good taste. Rarely are her design decisions a flop.
    Love this show.

    One of my relatives bought their house. It look beautiful!! They technically bought the house for 1m and sold it for 1.5m. It is s huge profit, but the house was too good to not bid.

    Might have added another window to the kitchen overlooking the sink, but other than that, fantastic redesign.

      Where? Where were they gonna put another window in the kitchen and not lose storage or flow? 🤔

      Over the sink. They could even have kept shelves in front of the window, but doing dishes without a window feels claustrophobic.

  • @b_uppy

    The wine racks as you enter the door send a dubious message. Kitchen sink needs a window over it. The now-leveled entry floor is much better than the raised one. Overall much better than before.
    They need to employ rainwater-harvesting bioswales, reuse roof runoff as well as put in curb cuts to use stormwater runoff to reduce landscape irrigation costs as well as downstream flooding. It increases desirability among hom3bu6ers and decreases related fire dangers.

    • @meggtokyodelicious

      Window over the kitchen sink is a very american, Californian style that Americans love. In other countries, the kitchen sink doesn't necessary need window over the sink. Just saying.

    the placement of the stove is weird because it feels like its encroaching into the living room. But since the costs dictate everything, you have what you have. But what i would do is move the dining room table next to the window where the stove is and do a bench seat against the wall. Then create a more casual family/living room where the dining room is now next to the sliding doors.

    • @b_uppy
      @b_uppy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bench's a bit of commitment for a house for resale, but it's a great idea for the buyer!

    I understand floor layouts are different for apartments, but in a freestanding house a sink should never have to face a wall. It should be under a window or in the island. That, and all the gray in this house, would make me walk out and go look at another. It's that important.

    Not the biggest fan of the roofline in the front, kind of blocks window view but cant be helped. See when I look for houses i find ones that while there are 1 or 2 things id change, the rest of the house makes up for it.

  • @VioletJoy
    @VioletJoy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    If you had a say in it, who else would have voted to move the kitchen?? They definitely had plenty of money to do it. For a million dollar house, I wouldn't want to walk into a wine rack and kitchen. It's beautiful, but a little odd layout. Most buyers would want a window over the sink, especially if you have kids.

  • @renees1021

    A privacy wall at front entry is needed in homes. Not everyone at front door needs to see the family or home layout. A little hub for a nice entry adds character and quality.

  • @renees1021

    I love what you've done. I do think your profits are contributing to the ridiculous housing market prices. Of course, you aren't the only ones laughing all the way to the bank. At some point I'd hope you lowered profits just for the sake of saving the American Dream. As the higher end home prices climb so do the lower income home prices. Just saying.

      I live in orange county where they do this. Its funny looking at the listings now. Tons of houses coming on the market that were bought within the last year, then put back on the market in the last couple months for $300-500k more than what they last sold for. The funny part is they all have this exact same look design style... people been watching way too much HGTV. Those homes are not selling at all by the way, they go through a few price reductions, get taken off the market, a month later put back on the market and repeat

    Meh, but kudos to Tarek and Christina for raising the home pricing bar in the neighborhood. The design is weird and kind of cheap looking. In a big house like that, you shouldn’t walk right into the kitchen. I can see if you’ve only got 1,200 square feet to work with and you want an open floor plan, but the houses in this neighborhood are 2,000-3,000 square feet. The kitchen should have been moved. The whole gray and black thing is overdone. Too bad the yard is still so ugly. Yawn.
