Scentsy Wax Bars Review from a User, NOT a Seller

  • This is my first time using Scentsy. My love of scented wax melts started with Walmart wax (ScentSationals and Better Homes & Gardens), and then some vendor wax, and for the first time a few weeks ago I tried Scentsy. I am NOT a seller nor do I plan to become one, so this is a 100% honest user's review.

    My daughter had a teacher who sold Scentsy on the side, and she was never pushy to sell at all. I ended up purchasing about 2 dozen wax melts 4 years ago. They smelled amazing then, and they are still strong. I only need to melt 1 cube at a time for a strong throw that lasts a day or 2. I do have to add that many of Wal-mart's wax melts are equally impressive.

    I am truly blessed to have a Scentsy representative locally because getting a sniff test first is worth every penny I spend on these fabulous bars! I too, saw some Scentsy products at the yardsale but did not purchase the warmers because there is no warranty unless purchasing straight from the company. My issue with buying bars from the yardsale is that I don't know how old the product is or if the product has been stored properly because that will alter the smell. Also I want to mention that the bars should lay flat because the oil can drain down the bar and when that happens some of the bar will emit a much lower fragrance when melted. Yes, there are cheaper wax melts in the store but nothing compares. Really!! My daughter tried several of them and the scent just doesn't last. I'm not a Scenst rep nor do I want to be but I am a major Scentsy fan!

    Thanks for another excellent review video. l recently tried Scentsy after receiving a couple of bars in a prize pack and I fell in love. I treat myself to a six pack of bars every couple of months now.

    I’m so glad to find your review of Scentsy! I know it will be unbiased. I’m about to order so I wanted to hear about Luna. I decided to add coconut pumpkin pie because of your review. It’s in the clearance section for $4.80 now. Thanks!!

    I was an avid Walmart wax buyer for a long time. I tried Scentsy, and it really is not comparable. You get what you pay for! After 2 days of the Walmart waxes burning, my house smells like burning crayons, not what I want.

    Hi. I liked your review. I've been using Scentsy for about two years. I have a lady I go through so I can smell what I am buying. She is not pushy and is honest. Also, I buy five bars at a time for $25. It is cheaper than buying one or two bars at a time. Thanks for your review!

    i am a consultant in Australia but i do agree there are a lot of scentsy consultants who are really pushy ... me i am if i can sell it great if not ok no loss , yes i love the product ... the thing is if you host a party can be online or in home , for the host shipping is free its also free if the whole party is shipped to the host for other orders from the party so this way no one pays shipping ...

    What size burner do you have? I notice you only use one cube... I use one in my wall plug in but two in my others...

    • @waxmeltreviews
      @waxmeltreviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just the standard 20 watt Glade warmer. I think it's the "sweet spot" for most wax melts. 24 watts tends to be a bit too warm, and lower than 20 watts doesn't disperse the scent far enough. The small 15 watt plug-in wall warmers are okay for very small rooms like a bathroom but they tend to struggle with large rooms especially if you have an open floor plan.

      ScentedWaxReviews maybe try using two cubes for more scent?

    • @waxmeltreviews
      @waxmeltreviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Using more cubes doesn't make a scent throw better, although it might make it last a bit longer since it deepens the wax pool so the scent doesn't burn off as quickly. A larger surface area could help a scent throw better, so if there were a warmer with a tray double the size of a standard warmer, 2 cubes in that warmer "could" throw better than 1 cube in a regular sized warmer. More than one warmer in the room can also help. BUT... if the scent is a poor thrower to begin with, there's not much that will improve the throw, and often the scent will be very weak even if you put your nose close to it. Using a hotter warmer "could" help bring the scent out a bit more, but the scent might dissipate more quickly. I use one cube every time I melt, and that's plenty for a scent that's a good thrower. So when I do wax reviews I always use 1 cube to stay consistent.

    I buy my wax melts from Walmart too and even though I can't smell them I take a risk buying it off line on Etsy.

    I live in Houston and every year, we go to a nearby town for their Kolache festival JUST to go to the Scentsy booth lol. Also, every year we go to the dog show downtown to get Scentsy. Scentsy is very expensive but they do have strong smells that have good throw, but maybe a dollar less would be more appropriate. The ones we get are always $6.00/ea which is ridiculous when we could pay $2-2.50 for ScentSationals/BHG :(

    I am really disappointed with Scentsy. Ordered the January warmer which I thought was really cool looking. Now I find out it won't be shipped until May...WTF! Bad fulfillment plan there, really a big turn off. Not sure if it was a marketing ploy or just bad planning.

    Scentsy is so overrated . I’m a former rep for them and after they’ve suspended me twice for not meeting their super high quotas in the time frame they set forth , I’m done. Also their scents have gone way down in quality /throw strength and the prices have gone up. I don’t see how so many people make a living off this company, I couldn’t do it And yes the sales are aggressive . They make samples but we had to buy them and also I haven’t ever made over $100 in a year or two with them! It’s impossible to sell this stuff due to how many competitor reps are fighting for the same piece of the pie. Had an over $300 order and made barely over $40 I think

      You have to really love what you're doing.. And work it. I'm not pushy at all. People love Scentsy.And I LOVE learning everything about each scent so I can do the best for my costumers. Saying "Scentsy is over rated" because you didn't do well selling it is.. umm. Interesting.

    I can’t decide between scentsy and pink zebra. With zebra it’s fun to create candles but with scentsy you can reuse and create cool samples

    • @waxmeltreviews
      @waxmeltreviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've tried a few Pink Zebra melts and was not impressed. They didn't throw well and they're even more expensive than Scentsy (and Scentsy is quite expensive).

      Oh no, that wouldn't be for me. I just like melting and reviewing them, but I wouldn't want to sell them. There's a lot of competition and I don't think it's profitable enough for the time and effort required. :-)

    I won't be buying Scentsy any more. They are more expensive, and over time (and not much time) it seems like they are weaker and don't smell as strong.
