The part he said about drop and run, is so absolutely true. This especially effects the ones recently graduated from college. Many young people are graduating out of college with little or no experience and often have to spend time volunteering, working retail, temp basic clerical roles, etc. to get experience. Very often, Administrative/Office Assistant jobs are the college graduates' first regular jobs after spending so much time volunteering, retail and/or doing temp basic clerical duties, but they still encounter a lot of duties they have never handled and not sure what to do. In addition, a lot of the supervisors just leave them on their own and expect them to know everything and provide little to no support and provide little to no open door policy to ask questions and clarify things. And when they ask for clarifications, a lot of the supervisors just get annoyed instead of being understanding they need time to learn and need support.
This is exactly my experience right out of school and into an assistant position. I'm still fumbling my way trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do other than answer phones and schedule meetings.
it's help a lots.. Thanks so much! May I suggest u to make next video about Job Description of Administrator and Job Description of Operation Manager. I really love your idea and the way you teach :)
Thanks, Travis. I have been trying to bring on an assistant for a while now but I'm so busy with details I haven't found the time. I now have a transaction coordinator that also can help with some of the marketing but the problem now is she has 10 other agents so I still stuck. I was thinking of hiring a virtual assistant to pick up some of the minor details of the business. What are your thoughts on VA's?
In business, it's not about who has the biggest ego. It's about who has the biggest heart.
