No, it is SampleTank - our app. Please check on the iPad screen you'll see "SampleTank" across the top. You can find it on the App Store, it really sounds great!
We are controlling SampleTank for iOS, that is what is producing the sound. That is a MIDI controller that simply controls the SampleTank app by using MIDI via iRig MIDI
If your controller has standard 5-pin MIDI ports it will work. I believe some/all Axiom do, but you've have to check the model you have or would like to use. It does not transmit USB MIDI, your controller needs standard MIDI ports
Because this charges your device, is actually made for MIDI (CCK support is spotty as far as compatibility - actually it isn't made for MIDI so technically it supports none officially) & most better MIDI devices have real 5-PIN MIDI ports. Oh & the CCK doesn't have LEDs to indicate MIDI data activity nor is is made for iPhone at all. You can find these facts & others showing how iRig MIDI is a true MIDI infterface used when you want a pro-quality MIDI interface for iOS devices on our web site.
iRig KEYS has a separate cable so we've released the cable (and the unit with all three connectors included). iRig MIDI is its own self-contained unit so it would be more challenging to do so. At this time, you would need to use one of the available official 30-pin to Lightning adapters from Apple.
Hello iK team menber, first of all u guys rock,u guys take mobile music to an incredible level!! I own irig midi, igrand piano(best in the world) and just purchase sampletank with all package(sax, bass, guitar OMG!!) but idk it looks like im alow to record just 4 track(ABCD) garage band is up to 32,please guy update it that we can hav at least 8 track. From one of ur loyal customer.
If you only need MIDI IN you could get that plus a great instrument/microphone input with phantom power in iRig PRO which connects via Lightning (and 30-pin, and USB for Mac)
You heard bad information. It works with the latest iPad. For technical pre-sales questions of this sort you can always get the authoritative answers directly from us. You can also visit our web site. The link in the description should should all of the proper compatible devices.
I don't know about GarageBand drums (they should work fine too, it is just MIDI after all) but I've personally used my Roland V-Drums to trigger SampleTank drums with great success via iRig MIDI.
@ginises83 As posted in response to your other comment, SampleTank is Core MIDI compliant so you shouldn't have any issues. Contact support for more help.
on iPhone too? No. And I said nothing about apps, that means nothing if your device doesn't work with it. You also oversimplify it, there are plenty of issues that are not "boom, that's it" in the least - far from it. Plus, look at the list of features that any serious MIDI interface should have. That's why serious musicians use iRig MIDI. They don't run out of charge on stage or in the studio, and they know they have a solid MIDI interface made for MIDI.
@dogypup You can use iRig MIDI to use your controller for GarageBand through CoreMIDI compliance. If you have any problem with this, contact support and they will help you out.
iRig MIDI relays MIDI data so if the app you are using supports/accepts those MIDI messages would be the question. Are you asking about SampleTank or the iRig MIDI interface?
is it possible to use it with a sustain pedal? (connected to midi keyboard via jack input). Second question - is there an option to control cutoff, resonance etc.in sampletank with knobs on midi keyboard? (midi mappaing)
Is there a way to play back a midi track and transmit it through the MIDI-out of the irig to drive an external rack synth? sort of like a glorified sequencer that goes beyond 16 steps and last as long as the track itself.
Are you guys going to make an iRig Midi that works with devices that need a lightning charger instead of a 30-pin connector? Didn't you already did that with the iRig Keys?
Just to double check, am I correct in thinking I can use this device w/ an app on my iPhone to generate a master clock as well as saved presets with program changes?
Is it possible to map a given instrument's parameters to the knobs and faders on your MIDI controller? For example, assign one of your faders to control the volume, or control the cutoff/resonance with rotary knobs? Thanks!
Can you adjust knobs like cutoff, resonance, release, etc using an external keyboard controller's rotary encoders (ex. M-AUDIO Axiom Pro series)? someone asked this before and I never saw a response to it. Looking to buy an iRig MIDI today, but I'd like this question answered first. Thanks
@ikmultimedia I was asking about using the iRig with sampletank for iPad. If I have a midi keyboard with midi programmable knobs, is there an option in sampletank or iRig to control resonance and cutoff with my external keyboard?
Can I use my ipod+irig midi+sampletank/garage band as drum module ? so I don't have to need to buy a drum module anymore. P.s : I just have an ddrum trigger for kick, I want to triggering my kick for live performance
i have my irig midi and iphone 4 verizon version 5.1.1... and im having a problem.. the irig wont be detected by irig recorder and smaple tank, if the micro usb is not connected in it.. huhuhu plz help..
Latency is still not at an acceptable level on Android OS, even with recent improvements, for apps like SampleTank and AmpliTube which require real-time audio processing or you'd get horrible performance from a world-class great sounding app and that's not the experience we want you to have. Improvements are being made and we still keep and eye on Android, including our many accessories and app that work on Android.
Yes we will ask them to update that. It simply was a page created before the new iPad even existed :)
No, it is SampleTank - our app. Please check on the iPad screen you'll see "SampleTank" across the top. You can find it on the App Store, it really sounds great!
Wow. I've been looking into these off and on for months. I'm sold. Thanks for the vid
We are controlling SampleTank for iOS, that is what is producing the sound. That is a MIDI controller that simply controls the SampleTank app by using MIDI via iRig MIDI
iRig MIDI has 5-pin MIDI cables. It does not support USB MIDI, etc. The USB is for charging your device while using your MIDI devices.
If your controller has standard 5-pin MIDI ports it will work. I believe some/all Axiom do, but you've have to check the model you have or would like to use. It does not transmit USB MIDI, your controller needs standard MIDI ports
It is Core MIDI compatible. Try the free version and see how it works, that would be the best test.
That is our iKlip. Check our site for more information

iRig MIDI is arriving at stores now. If your local retailer doesn't have iRig MIDI yet, they will soon!
Your best bet is to contact technical support (you can via the in-app help or on our web site). They will be able to diagnose.

iRig MIDI is meant for devices with traditional MIDI ports. It does not transmit MIDI over USB
Right now you can use Program Change for preset changing, and in the upcoming update there will be more assignable parameters.
We already do in AmpliTube and have stated elsewhere that SampleTank will too
You must connect your iPad to your PA. iRig MIDI does not transmit any audio signal, just MIDI signal.
If you only need MIDI IN you could get that plus a great instrument/microphone input with phantom power in iRig PRO which connects via Lightning (and 30-pin, and USB for Mac)
See similar responses below: iRig MIDI will work with a controller that has standard 5-pin MIDI connectors.
iRig MIDI works with the LIghtning to 30-pin adapter available from Apple (as it is a 30-pin product)
iRig MIDI and our apps are Core MIDI compliant.
You should report your issues to Tech Support (available from within the app or our website) and you will get sorted.

iRig MIDI is a MIDI interface that sends and receives MIDI data. It would not send any audio to your DAW.
@ace101guy iRig MIDI is Core MIDI compliant so any app that supports Core MIDI will work. Try SampleTank for iPhone as a good one :)
You can use any controller with standard (5-pin) MIDI ports and iRig MIDI to do what we do here with SampleTank and GarageBand
OK thnx for the input, I have a M-audio and the YouRock Guitar and there both usb
@ginises83 As posted in response to your other comment, SampleTank is Core MIDI compliant so you shouldn't have any issues. Contact support for more help.
@ikmultimedia SampleTank app does, which is what we're showing in this video. :) The keyboard is a controller.
Looks like that has standard MIDI ports so yes.

Not at this point, it has been noted as a feature request though. You can contact support for more details if you'd like. Thanks!
Absolutely. Check the link in the description for full information, including compatible devices
@boogeyabse We don't make the keyboard controller. You can see it works with SampleTank on iPhone and iPad
We have one app on Google Play Store and will hopefully have more as the audio latency improves on Android OS.
@djzepol our own iKlip, of course! :) More information on our site.
Wow! Hope this one will work well in my korg microstation.when will one of these genius babies arrive here in singapore? Excited much!
@yberg22 It is a Korg microKONTROL controller
@dogypup You can use iRig MIDI to use your controller for GarageBand through CoreMIDI compliance. If you have any problem with this, contact support and they will help you out.
iRig MIDI will work with a controller that has standard 5-pin MIDI connectors.
@8bitmelted iRig MIDI has MIDI IN/OUT/THRU - whatever app and hardware you use is limited by your imagination (and the MIDI protocol)
We've responded in other places you've asked and you should have initiated a support ticket by now - they will help you.
Sigue el direction en el discription
Congrutolations Artist. Roger and Ivet really like
iRig MIDI relays MIDI data so if the app you are using supports/accepts those MIDI messages would be the question. Are you asking about SampleTank or the iRig MIDI interface?
Great stuff. Pops.
As long as the controller has 5-pin MIDI ports. But I'm not sure how you will use two music apps on iOS at the same time.
This is VERY cool
It comes with the unit and cables, please follow the link in the video description and you will see exactly what is included.
is it possible to use it with a sustain pedal? (connected to midi keyboard via jack input). Second question - is there an option to control cutoff, resonance etc.in sampletank with knobs on midi keyboard? (midi mappaing)

There will be more MIDI control options in the next update coming very soon!
I love that sound at 1:47! what's the name of that synth sound/effect? Amazing!
Que bueno! :D
You can use iRig guitar as well. Just letting ya know.
Is there a way to play back a midi track and transmit it through the MIDI-out of the irig to drive an external rack synth? sort of like a glorified sequencer that goes beyond 16 steps and last as long as the track itself.
this is great!
iRig MIDI will work with any Core MIDI compatible app.
Thaaaank you veeery mucho :D
MIDI is not audio, you could send audio to your Mac if you have a MIDI interface but it won't send audio.
See answers below and you can contact your retailer to find out (and to pick up iRig MIDI while you do)
Please see other comments. If you need a keyboard you can also look at our iRig KEYS which plugs directly into iOS devices and Mac/PC.
Are you guys going to make an iRig Midi that works with devices that need a lightning charger instead of a 30-pin connector? Didn't you already did that with the iRig Keys?
whats the name, brand, and type of that controller mate? looks funky :)
Aaaaaaany keyboard with standard 5-pin MIDI and aaaaaany app that is Core MIDI compliant :)
Thanks!
Can you use any keyboard with a midi interface and get similar effects to what you used?
Late to the party. Just wondered if you could hook up the iRig to Nanostudio?
@MisterTibTib including using AmpliTube
hay soporte en español para los productos de ik multimedia. he adquirido un irig midi y no puedo conseguir instrucciones o soporte técnico en español.
Thanks
See other comments below: Korg Microkontrol, though any controller with 5-pin MIDI works great with iRig MIDI
@ikmultimedia I was asking about using the iRig with sampletank for iPad. If I have a midi keyboard with midi programmable knobs, is there an option in sampletank or iRig to control resonance and cutoff with my external keyboard?
Is it possible to convert midi controllers without traditional 5 pin midi ports to fit this? As in an MPK mini or an MPD 18? Thanks!
Can I use this with USB/Midi devices? For example I have an MPK Mini which doesn't have the traditional midi plugs and it only uses USB.
É muito bom valeu!..
Irig MIDI has IN and OUT. Irig PRO has only IN. What would I OUT need for? Will I miss it?
is it possible to plug my electric piano and foot pedal into an irig midi?
No need for profanity. You can follow the links in the description for all the information you need.
Can I use my ipod+irig midi+sampletank/garage band as drum module ? so I don't have to need to buy a drum module anymore.
P.s : I just have an ddrum trigger for kick, I want to triggering my kick for live performance
what are those squares on the left of the keyboard?
Olá, tenho um teclado arranjador Yamaha s 700,gostaria de trocar as baterias, e timbres, como fazer isso?
hey, i have a question for you can you record vocals with this system? what kind of Ipad I need? please. I like you work keep going

i have my irig midi and iphone 4 verizon version 5.1.1... and im having a problem.. the irig wont be detected by irig recorder and smaple tank, if the micro usb is not connected in it.. huhuhu plz help..
Hi i have a yamaha psr e423 and has midi but its a usb. Is there a usb cord that comes with it that would br compatible?
So you need to power this unit and your keyboard? Or just use camera connection kit USB ?
@1175ghost just look up weather the app is compatible with midi, if it is, this should work within
@ikmultimedia does this keyboard have drum kits and more and can it record it self and save songs??
are they available on store now???
See below, identified as Korg microKONTROL controller
what cable are you connecting to the headphone jack for audio output!?
well i guess when "at this time" changes, i'll look into buying an iRig...
Just one more thing, please. Which one of Roland V Drum sets are you using?

How did you connect Oxygen 49? I didn't see any Midi Out on that.
