Love love love the monthly catchup on series! I personally like to read the books in series as a whole otherwise i feel like i lose interest more quickly lol. But to be fair all of my books are out already and I havent started any new large series.
Alsooo im almost done with my january tbr and i can tell its gonna be a light drag by the end. Im on the 2nd book of the souls trilogy, and after loving the first one I was super disappointed that the rest of the books are just the same story, different pov’s, and different love interest. While id love to see from other characters pov, its like watching a movie 3x in a row, but its also super enticing and just reels me back into it. We have a love/hate thing going on here…and tbh its probably all the seasoning in the spicy scenes😭☠️
@@Jensdoingthings SO TRUE lol, I feel like I just got way too excited and read all the first books of all these series at once, based on recommendations 😂
I love how she says it! I'm south african and that's where the tea orignates, she isn't saying it 100% correctly but she says it mostly right and it just sounds nice so 100% agree with you😅🫶🏻
I highly highly recommend Her Radiant Curse I gave it 5 stars! it’s such a good prequel to Six Crimson Cranes (another 5 stars haha) and gives so much character depth and nuance to the ‘villain’ in book 1..
I'm so happy you loved foxglove! You'll probably really like Wisteria too, since you mentioned how you enjoyed the new second protagonist and Wisteria is her book. Personally my favourite out of the trilogy is the second one, I loved Wisteria but I missed Signa..💜
Red Rising is my favorite series of all time! I also read The Will of the Many, they aren’t really similar at all imo. Also, even though Red Rising is a strong book on its own, it’s the weakest of the entire series and if you don’t end up loving it, push through to Golden Star because it’s amazing. I can talk for hours about how much I love this series. I’m excited to see what you think of it.
It was destiny that you put those books all on the top part of your cart they way they fit like that! Yes to monthly series reading vlogs. I am all for finishing series. I have so many on the go right now that I am also focusing on finishing several this year. I don't have a full count, because I don't know where my Kindle is at the moment, but I counted up my physical book series I'm in the middle of and its 31! I would guess another 10+ book series on my Kindle, so yikes, I gotta finish some of them.
I also wanted to give you a book recommendation that I feel you would love! The book “Blood over bright haven” by M.L Wang truly feels like a book that would be right up your alley! It is a fantasy standalone book, depicting such a creative magic system, complex characters, the blooming of a potential romance between two characters, and just is making me feel all the ambivalent emotions!! I would highly recommend this book! I haven’t finished this book yet, but I already know it will be highly rated from me!
@ Aw yay, I am excited to hear your thoughts on this book! After hearing about how much you adored The Sword of Kaigen, this book I feel will make you feel as much as that book did! Fair warning though, this book is also a tear jerker!!💕
Have you read Uprooted? I took me a while to get into it because the writing is very descriptive and it's slow at the beginning but once you are inside the world it's like a big warm hug, with beautiful description of the wood and the magic, I recommend it as a fall/winter read :)
I had an internal panic moment when you mentioned reading MP Into the Dark next. I’m not trying to step out of line, but if the last book you read was Daisy Haites, then the next one you want to read is MP The Long Way Home. There’s something big that happens in that book and you’ll want to know before reading Into the Dark! I’m sorry if you’re already aware of that - just felt like I needed to let you know!❤
Ugh, I’m in the middle of the glow of the everflame and have put it down for now. I’m a third of the way through and it’s been so slow. I also agree about Diem being annoying.
Hi Jaime, I just wanted to say that I adore how cozy and inviting your videos are❤ truly, you are the human form of a warm cup of tea (I know you love earl grey tea, so I will be specific and say you resemble that tea😂❤)
into the dark is the 5th book in the magnolia parks series! the 3rd book is the long way home. just wanted to make sure because you showed it when talking about wanting to continue the mg universe🫶🏻
Already finished These Violent Delights duology from Chloe Gong this year, I still have to finish Six Crimson Cranes, Daughter Of The Moon Goddess and Emily Wilde series. Some I’m more excited to finish then others 😂 2024 is the year where I realised that i really dislike YA but sadly I still have some books that are YA on my shelf.
Once you read Her Radiant Curse can you please give your opinion on if you should start that series with her radiant curse or six crimson cranes. Thank you!!❤
How do you keep track of your series? I just use the notes app on my phone, but also curious how others keep track (especially us fantasy girlies who can have so many series going at one time). Also, I plan to start the Red Rising series in the summer, as it seems like a good time for a sci-fi hunger games-type book.
what series are you finishing this year? 💕
The Hunger Games, maybe 2 or 3 more...
@ omg! Is this your first time reading?
@jaimefok Yes! I'm a younger gen Z and missed the original hype, but the Fandom is still alive and well, it seems.
the mortal instruments series!
Harry Potter and Game of Thrones.
Yeees, do this monthly! It will be so satisfying for you to continue/finish series as well!
@@NadiaAbdulrahman- YAY!
I’m so glad you enjoyed Siege and Storm. The trilogy is so hated on in the fandom. 😭 it deserves more recognition
@@itsviet-erica4632 I agree! I’m not sure why it gets shoved to the side
Glow of the ever Flame was such a good book!
Can’t wait to read Heat!
