Jeez that game over with the crying Yoshi was brutal. The one in Yoshi's Story was also depressing when there are none left :(. It made me played harder and more determined to win though. They seem to have a psychological effect unless you lack empathy.

I like how it implies he is still alive after most of these. He’s basically invincible like in Mario world and Mario bros wii if he lands in lava he doesn’t actually die it shows he keeps moving while drowning. Like when yoshi runs away crying nothing can stop him.

Poor Yoshi. I really hated that ending at 01:47 when he got busted and whisked off to a jail cell in a castle to possibly rot there. It didn't scare me but it made me try harder to avoid it and complete the game with success though. If anything, it encourages the player to play better to avoid this :).

I think getting a game over in yoshi's story is a good thing because the yoshi's were trying to get to bowser's castle because the tree bowser stole is in there and when you get a game over, the propeller magikoopas take you to the castle. So yoshi can just get up and defeat bowser right there.
