Man you just became my favorite honer! The way you hone with such flare and confidence, i'm hoping this is something that can be learned with time and not something you're born with. Is that Jnat 25' or flat?
@@seanstapelfeld Only the coticule is convex. The factory edge was quite convex due to a pasted strop finish. So, a new bevel was cut with the coticule, and a good amount of pressure.
I am not sure what radius this was shaped with. I think it's approx. 3 m. In this case i am flexing the razor using pressure and using light pressure at the end. If you do this you can get away with only using one radius. It also speeds up the honing considerably. This was a complete bevel reprofile using a slow coticule with water. If you use synthetic stones you can cut down the honing time to 1/3.
@@nonamebear1136 It was quite similar. However, there is something special about the old Spanish steel that is hard to replicate. This steel is a little softer. The Filarmonica 14 also has a more prominent smile. This is in my opinion a really good alternative to a Filarmonica 14, given the price you need to pay for a good one.
Chucking the gold dollar was gold hahaha
Your honing skills are amazing. I need to practice one handed more. Awesome razor thanks for sharing!
Great use for a Gold Dollar
I used one of my gold dollars to open your package last week lol

Beautiful razor! I really like your style of honing, I going to experiment more with using only one hand. What was that coticule shaped to?

That razor is shaped like a fily 14. Did it shave like one?
Thank you for sharing your process.
