I do not think Russel was trying to dominate . I think Russel picked up on Kevin being annoyed at lisky, not listening. When lisky didn't listen and kept annoying the master Russel decided to tell lisky enough. You can see Russel only got annoyed when Kevin got annoyed, and I have noticed Russel is very protective of Kevin.

Leeski and Russel are going though a dominance thing.. I suggest to always feed Leeski and Cora first, alphas always eat first.. hopefully little things like that will help the pack adjust better. Good luck Kevin!

Hi there from Tasmania, Australia. I've found that putting male dogs together with the younger dog as he gets older fights the other males to be top dog. Mr. leski will be depressed poor fella. And Korra has probably been getting out to get away from her pup. As I've noticed as he got older, the more she started to distance herself from both males. Hope it gets sorted for you all's peace on the farm ❤
I think Leeske wants your attention and so does Russell and that's what they're fighting over....who is going to get your attention and pettins. They're jealous of each other. I simply cannot believe how tall Russell has gotten. He is now the tallest dog on your farm. But his mom is the best for keeping predators away if you can keep her home. LOL Leeske's bark is enough to scare anything away. Who doesn't love Mojo? He's the sweetest of them all.
Don't get rid of Leesky. Are they both fixed, they'll work it out be patient. They are jealous of each other even I can see that. If one is not fixed it will cause a problem. At least that was my experience. It wouldn't be fair to get rid of one of them.

Our Pyrenees did exactly the same thing. In fact, when my husband would be playing games on his desktop computer, our sweet girl would come and slip her head under his hand, lifting His hand from the mouse, insisting he pet her instead😂😂💕
Same here. I have a mini dachshund, and when I first got her, she would be sit on my lap whenever I sat down. Now, if I'm not petting her and texting on my phone or something else, she'll push her head under my hand, then fall back and look up at me like you know what I want. She's rotten, but I rescued her, so she's pretty special to me. I'm glad I have her.

Both wanted to be petted by you, but without the other one being close. Hope it won't get out of hand. From my experience of having a pack of 7 dogs, food/snacks/bones/food dishes/toys, etc. can make the attitudes worse when it comes to a pack of dogs trying to find their balance.
@@elliekennedy2952 snack will make it worse. I've seen Russell try and take the biscuit out of Kevin's hand while he's been trying to give the other 2 their biscuit. Russell thinks he's top dog, coz he's always fed first, gets pets first. I know Kevin loves Russell, but there has to be an order and Russell should be at the bottom of the pack

Yes. I have two dogs that do that, two of my cats do it also. Not to mention I have about six goats that always try to come between my legs like the dogs were doing. It’s a hazard walking around the pen.

Lyskey is getting older his gray is showing. Russell is saying he is bigger, younger, and stronger. His pain could be causing a small part of it but he's showing he is the big guy and that could lead to a death fight since they are guarding dogs.
What you really need is to be trained how to train your dogs not to fight. As long as they think that you're the leader.They're not gonna fight with each other.Cause that spot is already taken. Please just check with the trainer.But I do know that they know how to teach people to train their dogs. Have a great New Year.'s hope you had a good christmas
Looks like Olaf needs to go to a new farm. It also looks like its time for Russell to go guard the other flock. We had to dogs fighting for dominance/top dog that ended up a bloody mess and us out of 2 dogs. Don't wait that long.

I have 2 dogs, brothers,part Great Pyrenees and German shorthair pointer, black and white and they both do that to me. You definitely have to be firm footed or you will be on the ground.😂 Love them boys.😊❤
@ The boys are taller than the mother, she was the Pyrenees and the father was the GSP. They have black and white tick marks on them like the GSP would and the biggest one had been 155 lbs, unfortunately he has bone cancer and lost a lot of weight. Breaks my heart. They are 8 years old. Just found out about the cancer 2 weeks before Christmas.

He seems to limp quite badly 😢 maybe he's in pain? That can cause aggressive behaviour. But I think maybe you should keep an eye on them. It could escalate and it won't be Russell who gets hurt! Those boys are all bark no bite with each other lol. Liesky looking for protection from Russ in between Kevin's legs is very heartwarming. Clearly, they trust Kevin with all their hearts. Baby Russ is acting like your typical teenager and challenging dad for Top Dog. Cora laying behind the hay like, "Boys will be boys. I'm just minding my own business back here" 🤣Most dogs figure it out on their own without casualties.
I thought the same thing about the dad dog looking for protection from the man. These dogs are smart and know they would get corrected by him if he's sees this unexceptable behavior. So maybe more is going on in the wee hrs of the night making the older dog get more beatings when people r asleep..poor thing. !?
@@merrycarol8970 Yea. He is. He's been limping for ages, though. I've had large breed dogs that had this limp. For some, it was the hip dysplasia, for others, growing pains. Same as with children, those growing pains can cause some serious discomfort. Also, of the two males Liesky is the more friendly and submissive one. Still, I wonder what Russel's limp is associated to.
@@snugbug-n6x Yes. Very smart dogs indeed. Dogs do that when looking for reassurance, when anxious, guarding what they perceive as theirs, and when looking for protection. In this case, I think Liesky was looking for protection. I'm sure nighttime is very eventful for them. They're very active at night to begin with. Thanks to the predators around there. Cora's immediate "hide" reaction does make it seem like she's seen more than one verbal outburst between the 2. I completely agree. I think the same thing. Liesky is typically the more sweet and submissive one. He would be the one getting hurt the most for these pecking order squabbles. Hopefully, it doesn't escalate to that. I feel Liesky and Mojo are the most dependable of the guard dogs. It would be a real blow to them if Liesky got put out of commission.

You are good at building things. Make a boot box, use hardware cloth so air circulates through box., little door and latch for your boots.

Yes. I have two dogs that do that, two of my cats do it also. Not to mention I have about six goats that always try to come between my legs like the dogs were doing. It’s a hazard walking around the pen.

Lyskey is getting older his gray is showing. Russell is saying he is bigger, younger, and stronger. His pain could be causing a small part of it but he's showing he is the big guy and that could lead to a death fight since they are guarding dogs.
What you really need is to be trained how to train your dogs not to fight. As long as they think that you're the leader.They're not gonna fight with each other.Cause that spot is already taken. Please just check with the trainer.But I do know that they know how to teach people to train their dogs. Have a great New Year.'s hope you had a good christmas

Looks like Olaf needs to go to a new farm. It also looks like its time for Russell to go guard the other flock. We had to dogs fighting for dominance/top dog that ended up a bloody mess and us out of 2 dogs. Don't wait that long.
Has he even been around chickens and geese? I would worry he would hurt them in the other pen. Remember Leske and Cora don’t like the birds .

I have 2 dogs, brothers,part Great Pyrenees and German shorthair pointer, black and white and they both do that to me. You definitely have to be firm footed or you will be on the ground.😂 Love them boys.😊❤

@ The boys are taller than the mother, she was the Pyrenees and the father was the GSP. They have black and white tick marks on them like the GSP would and the biggest one had been 155 lbs, unfortunately he has bone cancer and lost a lot of weight. Breaks my heart. They are 8 years old. Just found out about the cancer 2 weeks before Christmas.

I have had 2 Pyrenees and they both did the nudging. And they both did the paw shake.
You need to separate them the dogs will fight until one is really hurt Russell is challenging for top spot in the pack

I have two German shepherds. If I tell one of them not to do something and they don’t listen the other ones like reprimanding them to listen so the other one’s just trying to enforce listening to you because you’re the boss.

I think you will have to move Russell out? I'm not sure if it's a domineering thing over his dad. Russell has been fixed so he shouldn't be aggressive towards Leeski? He seems to limp quite badly 😢 maybe he's in pain? That can cause aggressive behaviour. But I think maybe you should keep an eye on them. It could escalate and it won't be Russell who gets hurt! It will be Leeski. They are beautiful awesome dogs. But please please keep an eye on the situation.

Those boys are all bark no bite with each other lol. Liesky looking for protection from Russ in between Kevin's legs is very heartwarming. Clearly, they trust Kevin with all their hearts. Baby Russ is acting like your typical teenager and challenging dad for Top Dog. Cora laying behind the hay like, "Boys will be boys. I'm just minding my own business back here" 🤣Most dogs figure it out on their own without casualties.

I thought the same thing about the dad dog looking for protection from the man. These dogs are smart and know they would get corrected by him if he's sees this unexceptable behavior. So maybe more is going on in the wee hrs of the night making the older dog get more beatings when people r asleep..poor thing. !?
@@merrycarol8970 Yea. He is. He's been limping for ages, though. I've had large breed dogs that had this limp. For some, it was the hip dysplasia, for others, growing pains. Same as with children, those growing pains can cause some serious discomfort. Also, of the two males Liesky is the more friendly and submissive one. Still, I wonder what Russel's limp is associated to.
@@snugbug-n6x Yes. Very smart dogs indeed. Dogs do that when looking for reassurance, when anxious, guarding what they perceive as theirs, and when looking for protection. In this case, I think Liesky was looking for protection. I'm sure nighttime is very eventful for them. They're very active at night to begin with. Thanks to the predators around there. Cora's immediate "hide" reaction does make it seem like she's seen more than one verbal outburst between the 2. I completely agree. I think the same thing. Liesky is typically the more sweet and submissive one. He would be the one getting hurt the most for these pecking order squabbles. Hopefully, it doesn't escalate to that. I feel Liesky and Mojo are the most dependable of the guard dogs. It would be a real blow to them if Liesky got put out of commission.
