Thank You for being nice guys and helping out someone in need! From Fla. and retiring soon with fishing road trips on the mind. If I get up that way I will look you up for a Musky trip! God Bless!
That country looks spectacular, although it’s hard to think back to the days of the civil war. Men were camped around those streams using carved lead bullets for sinkers and hopefully having a decent meal. Much respect and thank you for the content.
Dang! The ol hellgramite! I’ll always remember our loooooooooong day on the C river TN where you landed your first musky on a hellgramite. It was my birthday and I was 3 hrs late to my own party lol. What a long day.
Wow!! Can't say anything but that, John! Nice going! The Muskie was great, but it also shows all you went through before hand, with fishing a tough stretch with high, fast water and no hits..Then leaving to try another spot that was equally as high & fast with wind and cold.....But you persevered and were rewarded nicely! It does show fishing can make you work long and hard a lot of times before you get that big one! (Altho I can't beleive how many Muskies you have gotten on the Hellgramite without any steel leader!! HOW???! :-)
Hey John! Man, you were forty minutes from my house. I’ve floated that same stretch, but never caught a musky or smallie of the size you landed! What a wonderful & rewarding adventure! Craigs Creek enters the James just above Eagle Rock. I’ve seen HUGE musky in Craigs Creek. Glad you had a successful trip.
Thank you John for an amazing adventure, you are right about the timing God is never too late he's always on time, with that awesome catch of a musky & that boat showing up when you needed help to land it, & the most & biggest small mouth, you can see God looking after you keeping you safe, yesterday I ordered enough yum hellagramites to get free shipping & used your discount code cannot wait to use them, those muskies I believe like bright colors, again congrats man on this adventure!🎣👍
Fantastic video and trip John! That country is so beautiful, I really appreciate the opportunity to see it in your scenery shots. That was a neat operation your friend has there, I’d love to come up and fish with them. God Bless, and congrats on the success with bass AND big Musky!
Dang good video John. You’re in my neck of the woods. Floated Gala into Eagle rock today. Didn’t catch a Muskie or a 4.5# bass but did land a few smaller ones. Rock on brother!
What a great bass! I caught my first 20 inch Smallmouth last week, trying to earn a spot on team Creek in the Knuklhed series! Also on James river, near Lynchburg, VA.
I have been fishing with Drew before. He is super nice guy. I took some pic of him and Jackson kayak use one of them on there page. This was about 13 years ago.
That was a special trip brother. From good friends and hospitality to some scenic river trips. And finished up with a helping hand from the guide service. Blessings John
Congratulations on the big muskie. Awesome video and what an amazing stream!!! I love watching your videos because of the knowledge and the Christian basing. That’s rare in today’s world and I love it. Thank you so much for your hard work my friend
What a way to set off a new adventure. You can't match that level of excitement. It was definitely a feather in your cap. Thanks to Blue Ridge for helping out. That most definitely made for an exciting video.
this is where you need anchor - this type of water - consider alternative ways to fish this faster water where there are oftentimes so many more fish - drag a couple of bricks or an appropriately sized rock on a environmentally friendly cotton rope so no big deal if you get snagged and have to cut it and start over - also consider trolling a heavier spinner in paddle through sections - as usual good content and banter and some really nice fish! keep exploring! #called it you should revisit this float late summer #covert ops
I was watching John fish, or at least trying to fish, but that was definitely some fast-moving water! I agree:He should have had some kind of an Anchor with him. Not sure if I would have wanted to be out on that. That just looks dangerous!
John, this video was so cool! Great turn around on the trip! I love the Bible verse, we just went through the songs of accent (psalm 120-134) over the last 8 months in my Sunday school class.
I hooked a musky while I was out in a float tube fishing for white bass in the back waters of Caeser creek lake in Ohio, it was somewhere around 38 inches that's how wide the float tube I had at the time was and it stretched from side to side I wore it out is the only way I landed it, had it out pf the water just long enough to get the hook out before it flipped and went back in, I was using a 3 inch pearl white twister tail grub, that day was calm and the white bass were biting like crazy before the musky came along
If you ever make to the Philly area I can get you on some really good fish. Everything from smallies to muskie and snakeheads to walleye. Sat I had a 18in brown trout in the Schuylkill. The river isn't stocked but some of the streams that dump into it are. They also will naturally reproduce in the river, which is what I believed this fish to be. It has the most amazing color.
I had the same opinion as that one dude, when you hooked the muskie you said you weren't sure if you want to land it, he said yes you do the same time i was thinking it. Awesome pictures you got to have taken of you with it
Glad to see you enjoy your trip to Virginia. My son's and I are subscribers and it would of been great to meet you and get a pic. Man I tell you one thing, no matter where you go, you catch' em. Stay blessed.
Congrats on a couple beautiful fish here in Virginia. And in the small world category, Captain Sam from Blue Ridge Musky used to be my neighbor years ago.
Wow man very cool video definitely shows that ya gotta trust yer gut and keep going even when things look bleak a ray of sunshine can be just around the corner very cool!
I live about 5 minutes from the low water bridge. When the water temperature warms up a little more and the cfs is right it can be a fun creek to fish.
It was great meeting you guys and helping out with that musky! Great video and great channel!

You need to fish the Clinch river sometime. Very near Bristol. You’d love it!!
