    I found that most of these soaps left the skin dry and flaky. Plus, the scents smell good in theory but they don't really stand out among other bars. I think Squatch is pretty good in terms of scents, texture, and how it leaves my skin. Only complaints I have are that 1. It is too expensive, and 2. The smell is not potent enough to last on your body unless you leave a slight layer of soapy water on you when you get out of the shower.

      The way I've gotten it to work with all my bars regardless of brand is to really lather it up and scrub good while taking my time letting it soak in. Then when I rinse I do it very quickly and it works every time

      Well, most fragrance blends are really bad for your skin anyhow. My friend told me to leave soap on your skin in the shower for 5 minutes to get the scent to last. I don't do it because I'm way too sensitive to different things.

      use a soap that hydrates/moisturizes your skin and find a good long-lasting fragrance if you're trying to smell good. putting fragrances in products other than cologne is unnecessary if you have a cologne/perfume that you enjoy using. also make sure to apply moisturer after every shower if you aren't already

    Listen, I'm a dr.squatch fan and I'm not hating on what David says but the squatch has done me absolute justice. Yes I understand it may not last long but I highly believe it's because of the extra chemicals and detergents In other soaps (Dove Old Spice etc etc) I'm all for all natural. My skin feels smoother I don't flake as much and on top of that my natural sweat and body scent has changed for the better and not to mention their deodorant lasts for A WHILE. Now I understand the Squatch may not be the BEST out there but fellas believe me or not it has not done me wrong yet and yes all of these are susceptible to whomever uses the shower the humidity and how long you shower me personally I take 15 to 20 minutes in a hot shower but as I said Dr.squatch is wonderful imo but I understand to each they're own.😊

    $7 for cold pressed natural soap is NOT "expensive," ffs I don't get this at all. I love Dr. Squatch it doesn't irritate my skin and it smells SO good. Esp. Cool Fresh Aloe and Cold Brew Cleanse, just amazing. And I'm a girl and I love their products and use the toothpaste and shampoo & conditioner as well. $7 a bar is cheap for premium natural cold pressed soap.

      "expensive" is always relative, but I think for the vast majority of people used to buying soaps at the supermarket, spending $7 on a soap is expensive by comparison. I'm not against spending more money for better quality--including soaps. My favorite soap is about $6. But Squatch doesn't offer quality in return for its higher price tag. It's actually worse than store-bought soap, which is where my criticism comes from.

    • @kropking

      Actually, it is VERY expensive because what you probably don't know is that Dr. Squatch is merely a re-seller of soaps that can be purchased from Bulk Apothecary for as little as $1.25 per bar. Many of Dr. Squatch's soaps are on Bulk Apothecary. BA specifically makes their soaps for re-sellers. You're paying all that money just for Dr. Squatch branding and their advertising budget. Congratulations on helping scammers get rich. 😂

If I had a nickel for every time he said “I think it’s all natural, but I don’t know, but it it might be, but I’m not sure…”, I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure I’d have a dollar, but maybe not, but I might. Not much research went into this at all other than him saying here’s a bunch of soaps I like. But doesn’t give any GOOD reasons for Dr. Squatch being “bad” - just that he doesn’t like it and feels like they pander in their commercials. That’s pretty week. And $50 for a bar of soap??? That’s 50 reasons to F#%K off in my humble opinion. That said, I do want to check out DC… maybe some of the others, but I will never spend $50 for a bar of soap. That’s straight up stupid.

    Thanks for making this video. I recently tried Dr. Squatch and I’ve been looking forward to my showers ever scents, (I couldn’t pass up on that opportunity, I’m sorry) so needless to say, I was shocked to see your reaction in the previous video. The most valid point in was the fact that they really do just seem to melt in the shower and that’s left me wondering what other alternatives could be out there. I’m likely going to try PAA first and I’ll be pleasantly surprised if they can raise the bar just a little higher. I haven’t used any of the scents you tried, but I’ll say that bay rum was the best of the three I tried by a long shot and I highly recommended you pick this one if you were to ever feel like giving them a second chance. I’m no fragrance guy, but the smell is something that I could only describe as a tropical island bubble gum and I can’t get enough of it.

      If you like Bay Rum at all, you will LOVE Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements. The owner is a self-professed connoisseur of the bay rum smell. Not sure if you'll see/respond to this question given this being a slightly older video for you, but what is your recommendation for someone like me who is looking for a soap, deodorant, and cologne that all have the same scent? I'm looking to have a great scent that radiates off me, but obviously without over doing it.

    • @BeastMadeReviews
      @BeastMadeReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your question, Jason! Actually, Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements (one of my favorite soaps in this video) has many products for all their scents. You can find soaps, deodorants, and colognes (eau de parfum concentration, which is stronger than average), and then other products as well. I really like their products and their scents, and I think both their soaps and deodorants are some of the best I've ever tried. (As well as their shaving stuff). So you can get the same scent across many products. (Here's an affiliate link if you want to go directly to them: bit.ly/3uofv7E)
      But you can also try to find soaps and deodorants from companies that sell colognes as well, and often you can find bundles of these together for a bargain. That's great if you already have a favorite cologne and you want to find the products to accompany it. It's a bit of a mixed bag on their quality, though. Sometimes they're good, sometimes they're a waste. So it's kind of a trade. But you can get good deals from time to time.

    • @BeastMadeReviews
      @BeastMadeReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      oak moss and coumarin are still used in fragrances, but with stricter guidelines on the types of ingredients and the amount per volume. With fragrances, the concentration of oil is much higher than in soap or shampoo. And even then, you're talking about minute amounts in perfumes. I don't know the answer to your question about PAA, but I am personally not concerned about it. The percent per volume of oils is way smaller in soap, and you're washing it right off anyway.

    I love dr squatch, you are not meant to shower twice a day or even everyday.
    If you shower properly it will last a long time. The soap is so green and more environmentally friendly then just about anything on the market.
    For a man to be ok with dove soap or anything else clearly has no sense of style and doesn’t care about his skin. The truth is that these synthetic chemicals have conditioned the public and corrupted the taste of modern men.
    Yes it is expensive. It’s also fantastic for your skin. It’s also American made. It’s also naturally gathered and made by hand. You certainly get what you pay for. American craftsmanship.
    Dr squatch is clearly the more premium and permanent option for healthy skin. After 6 months of using squatch I can’t tell the difference between my German shepherds shampoo and my old head and shoulders shampoo.

It leaves my skin super soft and smelling great! soaps like dove drys my skin out so much and smells like laundry detergent. I haven’t tried most of the soaps you’ve recommended but I have tired those basic ones like dove. I really like the toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soaps and deodorant. I made a statement about why I think it doesn't smell like pine, and I mentioned that I live in a town that is literally covered in pine trees. It's not saying that the scent is objectively good or bad. It's a statement about my perception of how the scent is recreated. After my real-world experience, mixed with my professional experience smelling fragrances, I think this is a bad recreation. But if you like it, great. I'm happy for you. You do you.

    The only all natural and non-toxic soap you presented is Ursa Major. The rest of them have Parfums and Propylene Glycol. Not ingredients that should be on skin. Dr Squatch don't have those toxic chemicals. I do agree that they're over-priced.

    • @BeastMadeReviews
      @BeastMadeReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      I disagree. There are several "natural" alternatives here. But my point isn't to offer suggestions that are universally approved by health proponents. These soaps are my recommendations as alternatives to Dr. Squatch. As I said, I think even Dove soap is a better alternative--whether it's natural or not. I'm not focusing on "natural" as a recommendation. As for Propylene Glycol, if it's used as a food additive and considered safe, I think it's safe enough to put on top of your skin and wash off. Your mileage may vary.

    I'm noticing that you're talking about "cheap" and "price" quite frequently when determining if you like the soap or not. While price might be a consideration on affordability for some, price shouldn't be a factor when determining quality.
    You gotta realize that soaps made with different ingredients is going to affect the soap price. If you look at your "cheap" soaps that you recommend, you will see Lard, Tallow, or Palm Oil as the main ingredient in most cases. While these are perfectly fine ingredients in a soap, there are many people who prefer to avoid these ingredients. So some companies choose to focus on making a vegan alternative, which is gonna be more pricey. While both soaps may be good quality and an awesome soap, it's the ingredients that determine the price. Vegan soaps usually need butters (shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, kokum butter, etc...) to help with Longevity, since they aren't using animal products, or palm. And butters aren't "cheap"!
    This is why I disagree with using price as a determining factor on whether you like the soap or not. The deciding factor should be based off of whether the soap is a good quality.

    • @BeastMadeReviews
      @BeastMadeReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    They're massive and take a good long while to go all the way through, they smell great, they look great, they feel great, and I'd bet they taste great (don't recommend eating soap).
    My favorite part is their aesthetic. They really appeal to manly guys with their actually really great marketing and designs. Their boxes look great and have a unique design to them that makes me love them, it's honestly amazing how much effort they put into a box you'll end up throwing away.
    I've used their Busch beer soap, and I love it. My dad's had a couple of them (don't know which one's exactly).

Everything they make is far superior than any other thing i have tried to this point. Dr squatch products smell amazing and my wife loves it. I use to have red broken out underarms and stinky also from using natural deodorant. With the squatch i smell good all day long and have no red pits anymore. My dandruff is gone and my beard dandruff is gone too from using these products.
