Weird fact: Halo actually has no technically "hitscan" weapons. Those hitscan weapons are just projectiles that don't have visible or really processed travel time. No, that's not what hitscan is either. Hitscan is a system that doesn't even involve a projectile. Halo's "hitscan" projectiles just are very, very quick.
@@DaughterDater Yup. Unlike the AR or BR, you can actually see this as you have to preaim over long distances to account for travel time. You can also walk into bullets unlike with an even delayed hitscan system where it will always "hit" wherever around the reticle is predetermined. With weapons like the sidekick though, bullet travel is less than a frame so gameplay-wise it feels just like a hitscan gun, as does the sniper at close range.
There is a common hitscan hybrid that carries the benefits of hitscan with the physics of projectiles. The hitscan uses the physics system to determine the start point and the end point of the scan, limiting it's distance from the player with a set speed and the frame time, then determining it's height using the gravity system. This is beneficial because it means the physics engine doesn't need to have a hit box or do any integration for the bullet, which there can be a lot of in a firefight, and instead a separate bullet system can handle it, often much more efficiently.
Repulsor also works on your own grenades, giving you a small, but noticeable increase in throw distance. To do so, throw the grenade, then immediately use the repulsor
Very often I combo my nades with the Repulsor, it actually makes the nades travel faster and further, if you do this right, you can get consistent plasma sticks with the combo 😂
I don't know if you can repulse a skewer directly, but there's definitely a clip of someone shooting a skewer at a man cannon then the skewer coming back to them and then being repulsed into an enemy. not mine but - th-cam.com/video/ypwGQHv5Tis/w-d-xo.html
Heres another clip of it. Same thing, repulsed after it went on a man cannon th-cam.com/video/83vfxO1DbF4/w-d-xo.html Weirdly, it doesn't kill the other player in this clip. Looks like the damage stays if you repulse your own shot, but not if somebody else does
I think it’s that the Repulsor’s hitbox of throwing projectiles back is smaller than the distance that the Skewer travels per refresh of the server, maybe? Idk
Yeah i had a skewer shot at a guy about to hit a grav lift then the grav lift sucked the skewer spear and it followed him scross the lift and killed him mod air
I know with the skewer you can reflect it after it hits a man cannon. Specifically the circular sand map if you shoot from the middle to a man cannon it'll bounce back slow enough to repulser it.
Don't you love when one of you favorite content creators you follow for one game series starts making videos on a game you're really hyped about? Keep the infinite cooooooming please and thank you.
You can use repulsor on skewer in the flight, I did it. That's probably why it seemed harder to use before and now it's way too easy. They initially made it really strong because it was hard to aim, had more projectile travel time, and lobbed. Now it's not so much the case
Actually the Skewer should be able to be repulsed, I've seen people shoot it in the air and repulse it forward and got a kill on someone that was standing on the opposite end where he was Shit I've done it myself (except for killing someone with it)
The guns arent hitscan if you shoot people from across the map there's a delay before the bullet hits. The bullets just fly extremely fast but they arent actually hitscan.
Pretty much all weapons in Halo have travel time, even the BR has travel time over long distances. There's no true hitscan weapons in infinite just ones that are too fast to deflect
You can repulsed a skewer it’s much easier to do if you bounce the shot off a man cannon I believe mint blitz has a video from the flights of this happening
I started playing Halo recently and have been watching some of your videos because of that and I kept saying I swear your name is super familiar and that I've watched you before or something. Today I realized that it's cause I used to watch a lot of your Destiny videos. Time to subscribe I guess.
I feel like it's safe to assume that you cannot repulse bullets. Like anything that doesn't have a projectile or physical object in the game world can't be repulsed because there's nothing there to repulse
I've actually did return a skewer shot it went into the ground but I was able to jump up and use the repulse and just went down in a ranked game It was last week so idk if I'm able to go back into theater to get that or not
Not sure if you tried jumping, I don't have the clip to back it up, but I did send back a scorpion shot and lived long enough to get gunned down by someone else. I was in the process of jumping down when it happened. So it might have just been me already moving out of the way naturally that saved me. Really cool but I would say last resort myself? xD
Can rockets collide in Infinite? My buddy and I would always do that back in Halo 3 Also try stopping a skewer shot by dropping a sword in front of you, I had a kill where I struck the sword and it went flying so it sticks to it for sure but is that only when it's being held?
For those that don’t know, you can repulse a skewer shot if you shoot the skewer at those jump pads on the big team battle maps, but at the same time when is that ever going to happen in an actual match lmao
I didn’t think to get a clip at the time but earlier tonight I did get a return to sender kill on a needler. Not sure if it was just cause he was close enough to me and taken enough damage that the blast back killed him and just given me the medal of if the shots actually went back at him.
Another thing I discovered with the repulsor is kickstarting a vehicle to bring it up to full speed instantly as soon as you get in. I've even discovered a way to jump with certain vehicles, but it's really hard to pull off. I made my own small video showcasing the various things you can do with the repulsor and it's awesome that others are finally starting to give it the attention that it deserves. Early on people were confused on what you were supposed to do with it. But as I like to say, in a physics based sandbox, power over this physics is the most powerful tool you could have.
Notice that you were always trying to do the uno reverse. You test to see if you can redirect the skewer at the very least? i know that you can't take it straight on, but can you turn sideways and kinda push it to the side? also thought that about the tank shot?
it looks like they made it so "sharp" projectiles can't be deflected... as if the skewer and needler shots were piercing the repulsor or something. In a way it makes sense I guess
Unfortunately I don’t have a clip, so my word doesn’t exactly ring as gospel truth, but I’m pretty sure I’ve engaged an opponent who was wielding a needler, and was able to deflect the projectiles using the repulsor. Either that, or I repulsed him off an edge, but I got the medal for deflecting enemy projectiles… so I’m kinda confused about that part of the analysis. I was kinda hyped about being able to deflect needler crystals, since they can be absolutely lethal in the hands of someone capable
Pro tip: look at the ground and repulsor yourself to get sniped in the air
Easily the 2nd best movement option next to the grapple, most players don’t expect it.
Imagine if it repulsed the planet
Duck hunt
Also I've seen clips of people using the grav ramp with repulsor and they go flying
Main reason I use the Repulsor honestly, that and I'm used to doing that as Ashe in Overwatch, her shotgun works the same way
Weird fact: Halo actually has no technically "hitscan" weapons. Those hitscan weapons are just projectiles that don't have visible or really processed travel time.

Nice
It’s Almost like they understand how bullets travel irl
There is a common hitscan hybrid that carries the benefits of hitscan with the physics of projectiles.

Repulsor also works on your own grenades, giving you a small, but noticeable increase in throw distance. To do so, throw the grenade, then immediately use the repulsor
can also throw them into the ground and repulse so that it blows up in your enemies face instead of hitting the ground and taking a second to blow up
Very often I combo my nades with the Repulsor, it actually makes the nades travel faster and further, if you do this right, you can get consistent plasma sticks with the combo 😂
Power Seeds - can be punted en-masse by the repulsor. Good for moving the whole pile towards your base if you get there first.
Smart boi

Damn just came to drop the same link. Maybe it's only friendly skewers but idk why that would be.
Heres another clip of it. Same thing, repulsed after it went on a man cannon th-cam.com/video/83vfxO1DbF4/w-d-xo.html

I’ve done it and it gave the kill to my teammate who shot him last. It’s definitely doable

Wow, this video made me feel nostalgic.
A real **throwback** if you ask me.
Indeed
I’m so glad you’re still covering Halo. Been really enjoying these experimental vids. As you say ‘the more you know’.
He’s covering it because it’s not like halo. It’s like destiny. Says a lot, no?
You can use repulsor on skewer in the flight, I did it. That's probably why it seemed harder to use before and now it's way too easy. They initially made it really strong because it was hard to aim, had more projectile travel time, and lobbed. Now it's not so much the case
Halo doesn't have hit scan, bullets just travel at the highest speed possible in engine so it's seems like hit scan but there is travel time
Actually the Skewer should be able to be repulsed, I've seen people shoot it in the air and repulse it forward and got a kill on someone that was standing on the opposite end where he was
Shit I've done it myself (except for killing someone with it)

Glad you are creating Halo content! Great job as always.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DO THIS THANK YOUUUUU
Oh granddaddy needler, so proud of it's grandson Telesto..
Awesome video. Very detailed. Much appreciated
The skewer can be reflected, if you shoot it a mancannon, it will slow down to a point where it it very easy to reflect
You can actually repulse power seeds, if you’re smart about it you can quickly win that mode using repulsor
This was a fun one, good job all involved!
I love how his intro is trying to make you press the subscribe button like the cool kids trying to make a kid smoke a cigarette
6:07 "Clips, or it didn't happen."-Fallout probably
I think the skewer shot is so aerodynamic and pointed that the repulsor simply cannot fuck wit it
All about the halo info vids! Coming from Destiny I need all the help I can get!
Gotta love the dedication of ya boi
You can repulsed a skewer it’s much easier to do if you bounce the shot off a man cannon
I believe mint blitz has a video from the flights of this happening
The tank one, there is a video of it in one of SHCs clips videos.
I started playing Halo recently and have been watching some of your videos because of that and I kept saying I swear your name is super familiar and that I've watched you before or something. Today I realized that it's cause I used to watch a lot of your Destiny videos. Time to subscribe I guess.
Skewer reflected sounds like something for Defend the House’s alley.
Already has tested it in one of their Mythbuster videos
BEST ARMOR ABILITY IN THE GAME love the repulsor
I really like this thing, its like a more skill dependent and less op armor lock.
I feel like it's safe to assume that you cannot repulse bullets. Like anything that doesn't have a projectile or physical object in the game world can't be repulsed because there's nothing there to repulse
Halo added the feedbacker from ultrakill, that's sick!
I wonder if you had the overshield active, would you survive repulsing the scorpion's shell?
I highly doubt that, that Scorpion shell is more powerful than you think
Thx for puttin in the work
Sweet! Repulsor has been one of my favs to try
#1: reflect all desire to play destiny so that I continue playing infinite
The grappling hook is cool but truly my fave is the repulsar!
Oh and I also like to throw the power seeds with that cuz ur right ypu can throw them up to ur team!
I've actually did return a skewer shot it went into the ground but I was able to jump up and use the repulse and just went down in a ranked game
It was last week so idk if I'm able to go back into theater to get that or not
I huck power seeds up ledges, and stuff with it as well.
Thanks for the research!
can you check if cindershot in aiming mode (guided mode) and hydra in lock on mode can be repulsed accurately to hurt the sender?
They really need to make it possible for all projectiles, would make for some amazing clips
Good work with the video, I wouldn't have had the patience.
The Repulsor bouncing back Scorpion Tank shots but still killing you reminds me of anteaus from Destiny
Not sure if you tried jumping, I don't have the clip to back it up, but I did send back a scorpion shot and lived long enough to get gunned down by someone else. I was in the process of jumping down when it happened. So it might have just been me already moving out of the way naturally that saved me. Really cool but I would say last resort myself? xD
Halo has no hitscan weapons, they are all projectiles, albeit insanely fast and well some are just programed to go through the repulsor
Gotta go fast.
That is the best frikin thumbnail 🤣….. that is all.
You can push a bunch of power seeds all at once with the repulser also
Keep up the great stuff
Repulsing ghost and chopper fire can be good to help you get to cover maybe
The first E3 trailer for the multiplayer had someone repulsing the charged up PP back at him, so that one was a given 😂
I swear I was able to repulse some needler rounds in a match once. I'll look through theater mode but I have no idea how that works.
Use the repulsor on the floor to repulse the entire planet.
A great man once said, “Tank beats everything”
Ok, dumb question but WHAT IS advanced Gg? I've never used it but should like to try it
Can rockets collide in Infinite? My buddy and I would always do that back in Halo 3
Also try stopping a skewer shot by dropping a sword in front of you, I had a kill where I struck the sword and it went flying so it sticks to it for sure but is that only when it's being held?
For those that don’t know, you can repulse a skewer shot if you shoot the skewer at those jump pads on the big team battle maps, but at the same time when is that ever going to happen in an actual match lmao
Wait... Repulsor blocks incoming projectile? Was using it like a rocket jump to get to higher area or push players back..
In the E3 trailer for the multiplayer it showed someone repulsing a charged up Plasma shot back to the sender
You can also knock people into walls. I think it's called pancake. I was so excited I did it, I almost forgot to tea bag
Good vid
Your doings gods work. Good jib
I didn’t think to get a clip at the time but earlier tonight I did get a return to sender kill on a needler. Not sure if it was just cause he was close enough to me and taken enough damage that the blast back killed him and just given me the medal of if the shots actually went back at him.
Great vid!
You can also catch a thrown fusion coil that’s in midair ! You earn a medal called Nuclear Football by proceeding to throw back a caught fusion coil !
My favorite clip is repulsing a wraith shot back in QP and destroying it
They mustve changed the Needler one, because I know 100% you can reflect needles since I got a kill that way a few days ago
This remember me the videos testing the Anteus Wards (Destiny's version of the reverse card)
This is beautiful, sad about the skewer and tank
I killed a Wraith with it's own bomb during Fiesta and it was glorious.
Good stuff!
I remember when there was a video like this but for memory of radegast
I swear I have repulsed needler shots in MP, I remember it because I did not expect it work.

skewer is only possible in extremely specific circumstances. defendthehouse just released a video of them doing it
Look at Halo mythbusters, you can see they reflected the skewer back.
Notice that you were always trying to do the uno reverse. You test to see if you can redirect the skewer at the very least? i know that you can't take it straight on, but can you turn sideways and kinda push it to the side? also thought that about the tank shot?
Moving a big pile of power seeds all at the same time with the repulsor is the probably best objective-focused use case for it
I did see a video of someone replusing the scorpion shot with out dying
Can you repulse a sticky thats already stuck on to you?
@Fallout plays (Repulsor grenade throws.) I was trying it out but I'm not sure if it's better or not. I don't have anyone to test with.
At distance you have to lead the sniper shots so thats weird if its hitscan
Are you going to be posting any Campaign content when it releases, Fallout? Or are you just going to be posting Multiplayer?
fallout you doin good
Can you volley reflects back and forth?
it looks like they made it so "sharp" projectiles can't be deflected... as if the skewer and needler shots were piercing the repulsor or something. In a way it makes sense I guess
Can the repulsor repulse a grapple shot?
It's in the video
Can you reflect projectiles at a different target than the one that is shooting at you?
Fav thing to do is using the repulsor to launch enemies off the side of the map
"Deceptionally"- Fallout Plays
I sent a wraith shot back in someone’s face and honestly great feeling.
The Stalker Rifle is not hitscan, it does have travel time.
All weapons have travel time. Some of which are just very, very, very, very, very fast.
I once was messing around with my friend and we found out if you time it frame perfect you can negate the damage but not reflect it back
Try moving away from skewer shot and when you saw the skewer projectile repulse it
Yes you can bounce the skewer, it's been done plenty of times
you can also repulse the energy things n stockpile to send them flying towards your team
I wish we could carry a shield device on the arm and open it like repulsor works
