I had acute appendicitis in the middle of the pandemic - only 2 patients on the ward and 8 Thai nurses. My symptoms were nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. The first doctor gave me a wrong diagnosis at the bedside. Another doctor didn't come until the morning, did a release test and beng, so painful. 10 minutes later with siren and light to the nearest hospital, CT scan and 3 hours later laparoscopic surgery. A woman from the kitchen asked me what I wanted to eat the next morning, etc. I ordered meat broth with butter. She didn't want to believe it. As a former old school nurse, I know that sugar, fruit, vegetables and dairy products are not given after an operation.
The older surgeon told me that I was eating too much fiber/vegetables. How right he was, the ketogenic diet with 200g of vegetables every day was the death knell for my appendix. Now I eat a carnivore diet. Finally, peace in the intestines.

After surgeries, or severe trauma/injuries, our family has always just sipped chicken or beef broth for a couple of days. If we got antibiotics, we started eating yogurt and drinking kefir after the 3rd or 4th day to begin gut repair. Glad you are on the mend, Pete, and that you caught it in time!!

First scan was without dye and then the one with dye. They do without and with scans. You were bloated because of your microbiome gut was messed up from the antibiotics and that processed food. I fast a lot, so I would have water fasted to get my autophagy going until I got out of there. You are still young eating carnivore and you know more than many, but there's a lot you still need to learn about the body. I'm thankful that God gave us a body that will heal itself, when treated right. Since you have been carnivore, you no longer have the gut enzymes for fruit and vegetables, but it is possible to get them again. Some day down the road, if you want, you can resume vegs and fruits, but that's up to you. Your system might be healed by then. I, personally, prefer the simplicity of carnivore. Glad that's behind you and praying for smooth sailing from here. Thanks for your honesty in what you ate post-op. Have a blessed day!

I had the same reaction as you from the contrast dye for the cat scan. At first I had nausea, felt the burning sensation. I turned completely beet red head to toe and projectile vomited. They quickly injected benadryl. The ER doc advised me to never get that again because the next time will be ten times worse, guaranteed. Now I make sure to indicate on any medical form that I am allergic to contrast dye. Glad to see you’re doing better.

I'm sorry you had to go through this. The first thing I do with any kind of acute inflammation is do what the animals naturally do: Stop eating, start fasting until you feel better. It might have prevented the medical intervention. You made it worse for yourself by eating toast and drinking apple juice. If you would have stayed fasted you would have been on the mend way faster. Your body was actually telling you what to do: no appetite? Stop eating. We need to listen to the signals our bodies give us. And break the fast with carnivore items only, obviously.
Don't be scared of fasting, we have stored energy for months. Trust your body, it knows best. I hope you get well soon, sir!

And I wish he didn't assume that doctors know bad because they don't.
Doctors are trained in medical schools. Pharmaceutical companies subsidize those medical schools, so do big industry. Doctors are taught to prioritize drugs, medications and procedures. This results in money being made. They are not taught how to prioritize health because there is less money to be made that way.
And you're right about the juice and the toast. That is the worst thing he could have done for himself. It contributed to the inflammation and made him feel worse.
He ate the worst things. How does someone who knows as much as he knows now, how did he fall into that trap? He could have asked for a couple of burgers and just eaten the meat or just fasted as his body needed him to do.

    • @Lamz..
      @Lamz.. 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@Kyarrix We've drifted away from nature, most people don't know the basics anymore. Like you said: we rely on doctors, all of them schooled by the pharma industry.
When you're new to keto/ carnivore and we feel pain or discomfort it doesn't occur in our minds anymore there's natural (and often very simple) ways to fix this, and we fall back to what we were taught for about 100 years: call the doctor.
I had the same spasm reaction in my early keto + carnivore days when I got heart palpitations that I never had before. It was scary, I thought this was 'the big one.' The first reflex is 'dial 911.' I didn't, and instead did a YT search on my symptoms + keto and found out it's probably an electrolyte imbalance. And it was, the palpitations were gone in 15 minutes after having some potassium pills. Especially when starting a low carb proper human diet abruptly, these kind of things can occur.
But I digress. We can fix (or let our body fix) all these ailments if we take the time to do some research for ourselves. All we need to do is feed it proper foods, maybe take a supplement, or just stop eating for a while. YT University contains a lot of knowledge in that regard.

I enjoyed this description. Your presentation is so calming and detailed, in spite of the problems you went through. Anyone can do the pressure and release test for appendicitis - push and release. If the pain was on release, it's appendicitis. I was in pharma research years ago. We used carrageenan to cause arthritis in rats - looking for a drug for that. Most of those 'meal replacements' have carrageenan. Also found in dairy products, even organic cottage cheese. Read labels and avoid this. Inflammation, including GI and arthritis, will decrease. My arthritis actually disappeared. Also, the contrast they gave you for the CT scan was probably the heavy metal gadolinium, which can damage the kidneys. A 2006 NEJM article shows that taking NAC before and for 2 days after will reduce the number patients with significant kidney damage from 34% to 9%. Look up the study for dosages and give the paper to your doc. He should give NAC, to you or you can take it yourself. Thanks for all of your content.

I would not take the position that they know best because they're doctors. Lots of doctors don't know best at all. Look at the nutrition information they give us.
Doctors are trained in medical schools. Pharmaceutical companies subsidize those medical schools. I'm an attorney, I am speaking from a legal perspective, it is bad. It should not be this way.
Be very careful about trusting what your doctor says. Some are very good and trustworthy, many are not.
I very much wish you hadn't eaten the foods you ate at the hospital. You weren't hungry, your body needed to fast. You did not need to get nutrition in you as you stated. You added to inflammation by eating all of those sugary starchy foods when your body was trying to heal.

My husband was misdiagnosed when he was 17. They almost lost him because the Dr gave him a shot and said it was flu, another day passed. Luckily a foreign Dr was passing through our area and knew he needed emergency appendectomy. He laid a week in a coma as back then they had to figure out what infection they were dealing with as multiple hoses were sucking out gangrene. He has awful scars now. And two hernias in that area.
I’m not so sure about carnivore diets either. Meat digests very slowly. Everything in moderation. Knew someone who ate too far the other way with lots of fiber and now has celiac disease as I think the filia were wore off in the intestines.

These vlogs are going to teach folks that are very ignorant to modern medicine and are practicing dangerous diets the effects of long term ignorance. I am seeing in the comments section very irrational and downright ridiculous statements. These comments come from many individuals who barely went through high school, but now think they are masters of healthy living.
I have been to hospitals and had all kinds of tests including CAT scan. I came out of it in great shape and the food in the hospital was fine. You look at the labels with chemical names and think they are all bad, just look at anything we eat naturally and they all have chemical names, example water H2O. This is how scientists describe our food source.
I hope the best for you Pete and your wife, but you have set yourself believing in a very wrong way to eat and the modern medicine advances that you are disregarding except when you are scared to death like appendix surgery because of the serious pain you could no longer treat with herbs and spices. I see health issues down the road.
Unfortunately fear mongering and conspiracy theories are heading some folks down the wrong path. My best to you and your wife!
