+Splash OfAlex Word sistah! My fiancé who lives 600 km away just got me a cat as I also suffer from serious depression at times :) An animal works true magic on ones well being/being.
I feel your pain. My brother was autistic and back in 1968 the doctors suggested to "put him away". My mum refused and he lived until he was 52. He lost his battle with cancer. Stay strong!!
Nice story. I am so happy Garrett and Ruby are friends. Autistic children need friends, but the opportunity doesn't rise that often. I think you can call your story a success!!
Garret reminds me so much of my autistic brother Dylan. Interesting enough Dylan is also a twin and his brother is completely normal but Dylan used to be a runner like Garret and is hard to deal with in public. I wish there was a dog like Ruby for my brother, just glad to know that my family isn't alone when it comes to severely autistic children.
@@tidepods7225 you can say the same for ANY DOG or PERSON ,but I see what you mean hopefully she will be around for a LONG time yet to keep him happy , I'm sure his mum and dad will cross that bridge when they come to it
@@tidepods7225 too bad then for you the ADA doesnt recognize service cats snd few states permit them either, guess its a good thing youve got Landon your SD then
Think of all the potential service dogs and cats that are thrown away. Or the more than 3 million that are euthanized each year. How useful they could be to people. If only our spending priorities were rearranged--cut back on narcissistic luxuries.. .
TheChats02 If only the law was used to stop the selfish, greedy people who breed pets for profit and mistreat them, while the overpopulation they've created is being killed in shelters.
Unfortunately 99% of pets aernt cut out to be service dogs or able to handle everything the public has to throw ar them, including crowds, angry people, being stepped on, having to fit in all sorts of strange places or even possibly being threatened by bad people, not to mention training a rescue with a jaded past has its own set of challenges, I should know, im training one now. Thats why most organizations breed and raise their own so that they can control all aspects of the dogs social and physical development in order to have the most successful outcome and even then over half of those dogs just cant hack it and get adopted out as pets
my furbaby saved me from going down a very dark path when I was dealing with depression. i will forever love dogs, especially golden retrievers

Garret can I be your friend
A cat meanwhile, would lead him into the street, and watch as he was hit. Then it would lick its paws contently.
+TheChiconspiracy Lol ^^ My cat always sits wherever I sit, at a wee distance, and makes sure nothing is approaching ^^ He be the opposite

My God! Is this true, 3 millions a year? How can they do this? Dogs and cats are harmless, specially doga, they are usefull to human... 😭😭
My service cat was from a shelter and trained by private trainer and me
So I saved Louie from being euthanized and he saved my life
