Correction No 2 I guess, Brazil is not in Europe, you probably overlooked it while making the video, but it felt weird you generalizing on european dates and just ignoring Brazil is in South America, which is pretty significant. I am not Brazilian but I am South American and Taylor had never toured in this part of the world before, those Brazil dates were important and the part of the world they are in. The Latin American dates of the Eras Tour meant a lot to me even if I couldn't go.

The reason I focused on Europe was because she played a mini-concert in Brazil before (Taylor Swift's Showcase in 2012), whereas she hasn't done that in countries like Portugal or Poland. Midnights & ttpd have some good lyricism but I agree they aren’t her best work. I think with the success of the eras tour, she’s feeling the pressure of having to always beat expectations and be bigger & bolder (which is why i think she released ttpd as a double album… which was definitely a choice lol!) The best songs of ttpd are great and the worst songs are REALLY bad. If she had refrained from a double album, I think it would’ve been some of her better work. @@crits2524 yes I feel like that was one reason, but another may be due to lover under preforming, she didn’t believe she could do a full stadium tour like before in reputation, even some reputation shows had 25% empty shows. So maybe amongst her and her team it didn’t make sense to spend all the time and money reserving stadiums that won’t be full
I guarantee you that if loverfest happened many of the underated songs on the album like I think he know, afterglow, etc. would’ve gotten the right recognition they still deserve to this day
I agree that the _Lover_ section of the Eras Tour was essentially a highly-repurposed version of the original plans for Loverfest. The very opening sequence of "Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince" plus "Cruel Summer" was essentially the opening for Loverfest, but reconfigured for the much larger Eras Tour stage.
Tbh, I don’t think that MAATHB would have been the opener for LoverFest. Although it has become so an iconic opener for the eras tour with all of the album titles and such, imo it only works because it truly had been a long time coming. (Pun intended)

Cruel summer didn’t really become popular until she was performing it live for the Eras tour. That’s when it topped the charts. If she had performed it live at Lover fest it would have become popular at that time. IMO

Anyway, The Eras Tour is just so amazing, we're reliving all of the eras one moment at a time.

@@phoebeel It is one of the largest festivals in Poland, but we don't have very big festivals (apart from Pol'and'Rock, but that one is more rock and metal oriented). The line-up is usually good but it's infamous for bad weather. It rains almost every year, and last time I attended it in 2022 (with my 2020 ticket), Dua Lipa's concert was cancelled due to the storm. So, I stopped going because I got tired of getting soaked in the rain 🙃 But overall it is an interesting festival with different music genres.
here in Brasil it worked just fine, two of my friends had Lover Fest tickets and they were able to get Eras tickets first, of course it was hard but mostly cause the websites aren't projected to uphold so many people at once

Yes. Ticketmaster’s “glitch” didn’t give us any priority. It looked like most that didn’t get tickets during presale had loverfest and merch boost… but those without it got put near through the queue for priority codes. I had both, didn’t get a code. My mom made a Ticketmaster account just to attempt to help get me tickets, she got the priority code. 😅

I think its so sad that a tour got cancelled while the eras tour is something worth seeing its so sad, she spread the hype for a tour for her lover album which I think is a good album and then it got cancelled and its sad that afterglow was meant to be performed on the lover fest but isn't on the eras tour setlist as that is such a good song

I love watching videos like these. First of all I think lover fest would have been such a cool stage design to see with all the Colours, outfits she could’ve worn, the songs performed and how she would do them. But at the same time eras tour is a much better concept like you said and more smarter and we probably wouldn’t have gotten folklore and evermore because Taylor would’ve been touring. I’ve never heard of love fest but I also kinda wished it happened as lover is the most hated album of hers and it was such a happy era for her
My boyfriend at the time bought us tickets to go to California on my birthday for Loverfest, and he made this adorable gift box with a chain of paper rings in it and it was so sweet. It would've been so perfect. And then COVID had to ruin everything, and I haven't been able to see The Eras Tour in consolation which is upsetting lol. I don't think he ever got his money back for the Loverfest tickets, either. So thanks Ticketmaster ya scummy bastards
I was never going to be able to make it to Loverfest but I was able to attend the Eras tour by some miracle so it worked out for me. I'll always sympathize with Taylor for having to cancel the Loverfest and all her work. I'm always curious about it. I can't imagine things Not working out like they did
I kept my Lover Fest ticket & never asked for refund coz it is a highly prize souvenir for ME! coz she NEVER cancelled a show in her entire career (except for Red Tour in Thailand for safety reasons for her travelling fans becoz of political unrest..) Perhaps it is her farewell tour or it also can be her biggest show she's ever done (up until then) coz like we all know she ALWAYS gave 113% over everything she does..& she did gave us 1300% for the Eras..😊😊
How she added more songs? It’s all of her ‘eras’…I’m not a die hard swifter but doesn’t this include more blockbuster Taylor hits? So in hindsight it would be more inclusive therefore better.

I had gold circle tickets for Bts Hyde park for Taylor and little mix and it ruined my whole mood for a year I couldn’t believe i never have seen her till this day all because of covid

i do agree but its also very cool to see casuals turned into fans. my parents weren't really set on going to the eras tour but went anyways (my mom is a big fan but wasn't sure if she'd survive with floor tickets haha) but my dad is lowkey being turned into a fan simply because of how, in his own words, the Eras Tour was so phenomenal. he's not a swiftie but he said it'll probably go down as one of the best concerts he has ever gone to and i think that really counts for something when you're not even a mega fan of someone's music. the atmosphere during the concert is just so phenomenal

I would attend Roskilde Festival in 2020 to listen to Taylor Swift but I would imagine that the Lover Fest was more anti-climactic wrt. the previous tours. Now, four years later, I will finally listen to her in Hamburg in July, taking revenge on the covid 19 pandemic.

I had standing tickets to loverfest, was told that I'd be priority for the next time she releases tickets, asked about it just before the eras ticket release, and they said they'd never said that. Other ticket owners also had the same email, but I couldn't find mine to prove it 🙃
I would love to have known what she fully planned for lover fest. I’m glad it was cancelled and was able to sit at home and work at her craft and create folklore and evermore, which are my favourite Taylor albums. I wish we had more than 1 video for each album & a longer evermore era, it felt like as soon as jan/feb came, it was fearless tv. I didn’t really like lover album, I felt like it could have been shortened and she should have kept all of the girls and need. The Stella McCartney merch was awful. The journal deluxe CDs were cool. I didn’t like the album cover and majority of the photoshoot. The back cover was nice.
Because if that happened then folklore, evermore and probably all of her TV from the vault wouldn't see the light of day. These things happened because she was stuck in quarantine.

Also, planning a tour takes years of logistical planning. Looking at the leaked stage plan, the Eras Tour stage up to the end of the diamond look very similar, and almost none of the songs from the Lover Era went past the end of the diamond. The Archer was the only song. Nice little documentary. We'll hear about it in due course I expect, you also have to consider that Taylor doesn't do all this organisation herself she might put out the idea and her team will then run with it. I would suggest that she didin't want to stray very far from her mother tbh. She was promoting the album more by appearances at iHeart Radio Wango Tango, Prime Day Concert and City of Lover in Paris, also the BBC Live Lounge was unusually held in the USA rather than in UK. She really didn't want to go far.
That's a good point. I didn't really mention it in the video, but I was thinking about how she might have incorporated the elevated platforms in the Lover section of the Eras Tour at Loverfest. Obviously, this only would've been possible at Loverfest East and West because of the custom stage, and the rest of the tour probably would've had to be more simple in terms of the staging since they would've been at existing festivals. I really wonder how different those stadium shows would have been from the rest of the tour. It just seems like a completely different setup, in comparison to a normal tour where it's the same stage everywhere.
@@elsiebo. I don't think she would have had any of the risers or LED panels just for 4 shows. The Eras staging has been estimated at $100m +. Lover Fest would I believe have been an expansive but simple staging to retain that Festival "feel". It was a shame she didn't get to play Glasto because of COVID and I now wonder whether she ever will, especially as the "British connection" in Joe is no longer there.
Imagine if she makes a mini Lover Fest for about a few months, after the Eras Tour, it would be so cool to see. It is delusional to think but it could bring Lover back like rerecordings did to her older albums, and all the song would go hit just as Cruel Summer. I knoww not possible but fun to fantasize.

I had tickets for berlin and i remember she said that it was supposed to be a small venue/summer festival like tour which was supposed ro be a bit more intimate. I had tickets to Loverfest West but was never confused. It was clearly marketed as her next tour but with a festival component. Festivals are indoors frequently here, and we were excited to see the other acts. I don't agree with the complaining either. Airfare was WAY DOWN due to the growing info out of China in late 2019. By the time we bought tickets to LA it was clear it was unlikely to happen to due the pandemic
I think if she would have considered a folklore and evermore tour it would have been, start with a little bit of lover (daylight, inthaf, other songs that would somewhat fit into folklore or evermore) and then go into a forest and preform some folklore, go deeper into the forest and preform evermore. 😊 Edit: Watched when this vid had 200 ish views

Prior to the announcement of the Eras Tour, I thought about how Taylor could’ve repurposed Loverfest and turn it into “TaylorFest”, basically The Eras Tour but with a music festival vibe and plenty of guests.

I love watching videos like these. First of all I think lover fest would have been such a cool stage design to see with all the Colours, outfits she could’ve worn, the songs performed and how she would do them. But at the same time eras tour is a much better concept like you said and more smarter and we probably wouldn’t have gotten folklore and evermore because Taylor would’ve been touring. I’ve never heard of love fest but I also kinda wished it happened as lover is the most hated album of hers and it was such a happy era for her
My boyfriend at the time bought us tickets to go to California on my birthday for Loverfest, and he made this adorable gift box with a chain of paper rings in it and it was so sweet. It would've been so perfect. And then COVID had to ruin everything, and I haven't been able to see The Eras Tour in consolation which is upsetting lol. I don't think he ever got his money back for the Loverfest tickets, either. So thanks Ticketmaster ya scummy bastards

I was never going to be able to make it to Loverfest but I was able to attend the Eras tour by some miracle so it worked out for me. I'll always sympathize with Taylor for having to cancel the Loverfest and all her work. I'm always curious about it.

I kept my Lover Fest ticket & never asked for refund coz it is a highly prize souvenir for ME! coz she NEVER cancelled a show in her entire career (except for Red Tour in Thailand for safety reasons for her travelling fans becoz of political unrest..) Perhaps it is her farewell tour or it also can be her biggest show she's ever done (up until then) coz like we all know she ALWAYS gave 113% over everything she does..& she did gave us 1300% for the Eras..😊😊

i do agree but its also very cool to see casuals turned into fans. my parents weren't really set on going to the eras tour but went anyways (my mom is a big fan but wasn't sure if she'd survive with floor tickets haha) but my dad is lowkey being turned into a fan simply because of how, in his own words, the Eras Tour was so phenomenal. he's not a swiftie but he said it'll probably go down as one of the best concerts he has ever gone to and i think that really counts for something when you're not even a mega fan of someone's music. the atmosphere during the concert is just so phenomenal

I would attend Roskilde Festival in 2020 to listen to Taylor Swift but I would imagine that the Lover Fest was more anti-climactic wrt. the previous tours. Now, four years later, I will finally listen to her in Hamburg in July, taking revenge on the covid 19 pandemic.

I had standing tickets to loverfest, was told that I'd be priority for the next time she releases tickets, asked about it just before the eras ticket release, and they said they'd never said that. Other ticket owners also had the same email, but I couldn't find mine to prove it 🙃
I would love to have known what she fully planned for lover fest. I’m glad it was cancelled and was able to sit at home and work at her craft and create folklore and evermore, which are my favourite Taylor albums. I wish we had more than 1 video for each album & a longer evermore era, it felt like as soon as jan/feb came, it was fearless tv. I didn’t really like lover album, I felt like it could have been shortened and she should have kept all of the girls and need. The Stella McCartney merch was awful. The journal deluxe CDs were cool. I didn’t like the album cover and majority of the photoshoot. The back cover was nice.

Also, planning a tour takes years of logistical planning. She announced the tour half a year before they broke up, so she started planning it way before that, thus in a time where she was still with joe

Looking at the leaked stage plan, the Eras Tour stage up to the end of the diamond look very similar, and almost none of the songs from the Lover Era went past the end of the diamond. The Archer was the only song. Nice little documentary. We'll hear about it in due course I expect, you also have to consider that Taylor doesn't do all this organisation herself she might put out the idea and her team will then run with it. I would suggest that she didin't want to stray very far from her mother tbh. She was promoting the album more by appearances at iHeart Radio Wango Tango, Prime Day Concert and City of Lover in Paris, also the BBC Live Lounge was unusually held in the USA rather than in UK. She really didn't want to go far.
That's a good point. I didn't really mention it in the video, but I was thinking about how she might have incorporated the elevated platforms in the Lover section of the Eras Tour at Loverfest. Obviously, this only would've been possible at Loverfest East and West because of the custom stage, and the rest of the tour probably would've had to be more simple in terms of the staging since they would've been at existing festivals. I really wonder how different those stadium shows would have been from the rest of the tour. It just seems like a completely different setup, in comparison to a normal tour where it's the same stage everywhere.
@@elsiebo. I don't think she would have had any of the risers or LED panels just for 4 shows. The Eras staging has been estimated at $100m +. Lover Fest would I believe have been an expansive but simple staging to retain that Festival "feel". It was a shame she didn't get to play Glasto because of COVID and I now wonder whether she ever will, especially as the "British connection" in Joe is no longer there.
Imagine if she makes a mini Lover Fest for about a few months, after the Eras Tour, it would be so cool to see. It is delusional to think but it could bring Lover back like rerecordings did to her older albums, and all the song would go hit just as Cruel Summer. I knoww not possible but fun to fantasize.

Even did my post-grad during that time. So no, the pandemic didn't touch me. Sure, it was madness but apart from a cancelled concert, I didn't see any consequences in my personal life.

I had tickets to Loverfest West but was never confused. It was clearly marketed as her next tour but with a festival component. Festivals are indoors frequently here, and we were excited to see the other acts. I don't agree with the complaining either. Airfare was WAY DOWN due to the growing info out of China in late 2019. By the time we bought tickets to LA it was clear it was unlikely to happen to due the pandemic
