- When your kidneys are working well, they filter out wastes and excess fluid that become part of the urine your body makes each day. When kidneys aren’t working well, you do not remove enough wastes and fluids to keep you healthy. You also cannot make important hormones for your blood and bones. Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) is an estimate of how well your kidneys are working and keeping you healthy.

Doc gary ang galing ng pagexplained nyo about topic for today..i was playing again this video ..my husband died last yr bcoz of kidney failure diabetic din kase sya as in kumplikasyon na din dinayalisis sya for 1 yr..thats why i takecare alot of my kidney..
My daughter-in-law has UTI and recently they suspect she has a kidney problem. Thank you very much for this Doc Gary. This explains so much even for me and my husband (we are now in our 50’s) who at one point had high creatinine levels.

Very clear and informative! Sobrang dami ko po natutunan. I was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease dahil pabalik balik po yung UTI ko at matagal na gamutan daw po dahil na din sa family history pero hindi ko po alam kung anong stage. Ngayon malinaw na po sakin pano malalaman. Sobrang thank you po Doc Gary. Hindi niyo po pinagdadamot ang lahat ng pwede namin malaman at pwede namin gawin para mapabuti ang aming kalagayan. I’m taking pain medicine, Tramadol 50mg with Famotidine for 8 years since my back surgery. I’m glad I have normal kidney. My Primary Doctor is monitoring me every 3 months. 2013 I was diagnosed woth CKD Stage 4. My nephrologist advised me to have a fistula implanted on my right arm in preparation for dialysis is case my CKD went up to stage 5. Today 2023 & 10 years later, I lost 90lbs, reversed my diabetes & have improved my kidney function to Stage 3. Nothing is impossible with hard work, self control & prayers. I have not used the fistula, it’s just there, waitingvto be removed should I decide to.

@@Urgello143 Stage 5 needs dialysis. I was Stage 4 when I was diagnosed with CKD but I was scared of dialysis since my doctor said if it became Stage 5, I eill need dialysis. But your mother can try & change her diet right away hoping it’s not to late. First of all, stop eating meat, totally!!! No fried food, only steamed fish or veggies. No patis, no bagoong or any condiments esp vetsine or chicken powder. No food with preservatives. If she needs a little salt to taste use pink salt. See if she can start on that today. It is hard sacrifice but hopefully she can do it. I was past my 70s when I was diagnosed ang I will be 77 soon. I am now Stage 3 & have not used my fistula, even my doctor is asking if I want it removed because I won’r need it anymore.

That’s true doc, once you have advanced kidney disease, water intake is crucial., we experienced that with my late husband.Excellent presentation, buti pa dyan walang bayad ang second visit, here in US lahat my bayad , that’s why I try to educate myself with your lectures. The doctors here were always in a hurry .

malinaw masyyado ang lecture Doc, mmadami ako matutuhan, nagulat kmi sa stage 5 kidney failure ng asawa ko, wala talagang naramdaman except hypertension na napakakulit ayaw bumaba, after he lost consciousness, saka lang namalam na 9% na lang ang GFR niya, nagdialysis for a month and then nastroke for 10 days missed 3 dialysis sessions before he died. ngayun ko naintindihan ang nangyari sa kanya, mahilig sya uminom ng pain liler, ayaw nya ng may masakit
