Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but once the whiskey is inside I'm delightful! Looks like I'm going to have to head out into the weather and see if we have that back in Oregon. Great to see you guys!

I’m still looking for my holiday pour, but I have heard good things about Jeppson’s maple finished bourbon. I love maple. Lucky seven’s “the frenchmen” and “holiday toast” also sound good.

Haven't heard of the Jeppson's Maple yet. That sounds great. You could definitely do worse than the Lucky 7 bottles. There's a Bull Run Single Barrel in Portland at a place called Westmoreland Liquor. It's an American Whiskey aged in maple syrup barrels and nocino walnut liqueur barrels, then blended into a single incredible whiskey. We're bummed to miss out on that one!

Thanks for making Phil travel out in the crappy weather. How thoughtful. 😅

My holiday pours will always be MWND and Angel Envy Rye. The bottle you picked sounds amazing!

Love Proof and Wood. They are really one of the best non-distiller producers around. Great MGP and others. The Representative, The Senator, The Presidents Drams, Tumblin' Dice, Roulette Rye are all worth trying. They have a Polish rye called The Globe that is really different and very special that I would also recommend. That's a good brand

We didn't actually realize those were all the same producer. That's a great lineup.

Actually I envy you for having Snow. I live in a small Town out in the country out Of Montreal, called St Lazare, and we have no snow and it’s 6c. I have a Bernese Mountain dog who is just waiting for Snow. I love the Senetor rye . I was able to order it from a store in Calgary Alberta. It is very good. Cheers to you Julie and Phil. Santé. Au revoir.

Have snagged a few Proof and Wood offerings over the years including this one. All have been quite satisfying so far. Quite fond of this one as well. Very well crafted Rye. I have a sample of another that I will pass along when you make down this way :) Cheers!

We prefer ours to be barrel aged and sipped from a dumpster through a straw.

Kat bugging you after you woke her up??? OBEY YOUR OVERLORD!! 😺
Very much like that bottle after winning one in a a raffle. To me, a real good gift because the price is just a bit more than you might pay for yourself, but gladly received from someone else. Same weather here today, and to me it's either high proof rye time or Scotch. KC Single Barrel rye a good choice, particularly a pick. People talk about MWND right about now, but boy has the price put that out of reach. I don't go for the deep peated Scotch until Jan or Feb, but right about now a light peat like a Loch Lomond 18 or an Ardnamurchan is good.

There was a bottle of Bull Run 15 Year American Whiskey finished in pinot casks that I nearly pulled the trigger on. $51 is hard to pass up for a bottle that good.

@@TheBourbonVan DO IT!!! Nerds and Turds did a pick of a Pinot Bull Run with the light whiskey in it. Oh yes!! A ton of great reports on it.

The general rule there is you can't whine about the frigidity until it's about -25F windchill. Buckle up, buttercup. (you've done 5 years, so you probably know)

Haha, if we had our full winter gear (especially boots) you definitely wouldn't hear any complaining. We used to ride our bikes to work year-round here in Chicago too. We need to reacquire that thick skin!
