Yo Ik you got that clean Impreza
Im in the market for one right now and I’m debating if I should go the wrx route or 2.5i
What would you recommend as far as reliability, maintenance cost, and overall quality?

I would argue, for the most part, many things between the two are the same, being the same platform. What I quickly realized after buying mine is that it's not the case that WRX's are so much more unreliable than the non turbo cars, its all about how it was treated by its previous owner. Mechanically they are more complicated, and that means more parts to fail, but not unreasonable. A quick look through my channel would indicate that after buying a decent looking reasonable mileage car I had oiling issues and developed rodnock, but you also hear of crazy high mile cars. I don't want to make any definitive suggestions because there are tons of people way more knowledgeable than me out there. Here's what I know though, for a 2000's economy car I really like the interior and things seem to hold up pretty well, parts aren't always the cheapest, but they're extremely common and still not bad as far as maintenance goes, and especially depending on how you modify it, it still has the fun driving characteristic present on the WRX. Some things are very easy to do and others not so much, but that just how cars are, and since replacing my engine I basically haven't had any issues. Hopefully this helped.
