As far as the hip hop era debate goes to me there was never a solid argument there to say this era is better. Just go year for year. 2023 vs 1993. Check the albums and songs that came out in 1993 and compare that to the work of this year. No competition. All it is, is we got older people trying not to seem like they're out of touch haters and younger people who are sensitive to any sort of criticism and who are not even taking the time to look at what came before them.
