Keep your maintenance up and watch for loose stuff I blew 3 head gaskets on that same setup and blew out a coil a clutch and had to shorten the chain as well.
@@riverlife3490 the chain was not good the chain required a lot of maintenance the unit was not sealed and water got in there a lot but problem when you hunt salt marshes. I since sold that rig and run a 23 vanguard on a mud walker frame if you want to upgrade that’s a great company to go with. Small company and all his mill and welding work is done by hand. It’s a night and day difference in build quality and parts. Cost more money but worth every penny at not being stuck in a swamp at night.
Great job I have watched your videos I have a 1436 and to be honest i can afford the mudskipper i have some medical issues got to pay for medication that being said i like your design on your home built one i would like to try my hand at building one i would like to know if you would give dimensions or information on your build also i see you don't use your home built one could you tell what problems you ran into and how would you improve it sorry for the long message thanks for sharing
I am considering a surface drive by mudskipper can you give me any insight on them what's the warranty on them how well they're built and if they're cheaply put together with flimsy metal what kind of maintenance sure does beat an outboard changing the water pump thank you for your input and simply awaiting your reply

I check everything before every trip. Thank you for the advice. Mine has a belt chain would probably be better

They're built good only took it out a couple times no problems so far well other thin one bolt getting loose it does good for what I use it for

They do come with a engine for extra cash. But you can slap a predator on it
