Yeah the gen 4 eeveelution movesets kinda sucked. I mean, flareon gets fire fang at 44, leafeon gets leaf blade at 70 something, and glaceon get ice beam at 70 something as well.
@@kolskor0293 Umbreon and Sylveon are the ones with privilage. Umbreon gets various dark attacks (Feint Attack, Pursuit and Bite) and Sylveon does aswell (Drain Kiss, Dazzling Gleam and Moonblast; Swift and Hyper Beam with Pixilate)

Now I know I am late, but the reason the mismagius lived at 12:04 was because the first flame wheel was used when monferno was in blaze(monferno had total 84 hp, 1/3 that is 28 and he was at 18). Blaze gave a 50% boost to the flame wheel the first time. But, the second time, he was above 1/3rd hp(30>28) and hence flame wheel didn't kill.

Imagine doing this challenge in Diamond or Pearl. Your team would be Empoleon, Rampardos/Bastiodon, Blissey and Lucario. If your opponent had a fighting type move (or even Earthquake because Blissey's defense is awful) you'd be screwed.

I remember my first playthrough in Platinum. I went all the way through until meeting Cynthia's Garchomp at the very end. I sent in my Floatzel, who could not outspeed, but I felt confident it would OHKO the Garchomp with ice punch, as it was already hurt. Garchomp went for the Dragon Rush, which Floatzel thankfully survived. I inwardly prepared for victory, but then stopped when i saw two words suddenly pop up.
Floatzel flinched!
Garchomp then swept through the rest of my team. It was a sad day.
Sad life man. Same happened to me but garchomp critical hit 2 times in a row. That though on my weavile which ice beam missed and on my infernape
My first platinum team had a weavile which I planned to use for garchomp and use ice punch. And then, when it used ice punch on it, the unthinkable happened. It lived. It then crit one shot with earthquake and swept through my entire team.

@@richdude2985 I also had a Weavile on my team, only it had Ice Beam instead of Ice Punch, as I forgot that it was a Physical Attacker, not a Special one. After teaching it Ice Punch, and making it hold the Nevermelt Ice, I managed to OHKO her Garchomp.
It was my first ever team, and the only pokemon I had left was a half dead Lucario, he somehow lived and hit 2 crit drain punches. Due to that luck I've never had a full odds random shiny
Your Monferno had blaze active when you hit Fantina’s Mismagias the first flame wheel. But since you healed Monferno up blaze wasn’t active and that’s why it did less damage.

Doesn't blaze come into effect when the pokemon is less than half? If so shouldn't it have kicked in the second time too? Or is it less than a third of it's health?
Lisa Henry Blaze kicks in when the Pokémon is 33% (1/3) of its Max health.
It could have also been a high roll, then a low roll afterwards. But the blaze idea is highly possible too.

I always feel with any type of challenge that there should be a Shiny Exception. This type of challenge included.
Only if it's a legitimate copy of the game. If it's an emulator, then you can't transfer the shiny anywhere, it's stuck in that one emulator run forever.
I did kinda try a no-catching challenge in Shining Pearl, although it was more meant as a sort of "speedrun", as I had already cleared Brilliant Diamond and need Palkia at some point when I wanna catch Arceus, so therefore I sped through SP.
And since it was more of a speedrun than anything, I did use the gift Jirachi and Mew to speed things up, as well as my starter Infernape, and the gifts Blissey and Lucario. I decided not to use a fossil Bastiodon coz it would take too long to find (even tho I probably did it already) but also because Bastiodon is simply too weak offensively for me to bother with it.
While I was in Iron Island, searching for useful items, not sure if before or after getting the Riolu egg, I ran into a Shiny Golbat which was the ONLY Pokémon other than Palkia that I caught (Palkia with Master Ball and never used).
I named her Barbara, after Batgirl. And she made it onto my team, so HALF my team was made up of pink Pokémon (Mew, Blissey and shiny Crobat).
I won against the Elite 4 first try, although with a level 70 Blissey and a level 69 shiny Crobat (nice) and at least level 66 everything else.
On my first run of BD, which was my first Hardcore Nuzlocke as well, I wiped the first time against Cynthia, then beat her the second try (just resetting before fighting the E4, using the same team and strategy but with different RNG) with 2 Pokémon remaining, my Luxray at red HP, and my Roserade who took out her Garchomp from a third, after living a hit from it, maybe Dragon Claw (or whatever dragon move it has) or maybe Earthquake, I don't really remember, but I still love that my Roserade took out Cynthia's Garchomp.

Michael, can I clarify something for you? Assurance is not Revenge. Its damage does not double when the user takes damage, its power doubles when the target has taken damage the same turn. So it's only useful in double battles, or against a pokemon that is faster and has a recoil move.
or when the opponent switches and the next pokemon is attacked by stealth rocks
Or when the faster Pokémon attacks while holding a Life Orb.
There's really plenty of surprising applications for Assurance, even in singles.

@@Panthers8912 Ah but not truly, because 5 HMs are required to get through the victory road. So ONLY a starter isn't actually possible. The challenge is figuring out the HM situation and setting up the team is the best way with such limited options.
@@MandJTV The hardest game to do this challenge in would be Ruby, and Saphire because the only gift Pokemon Available before the Elite 4 are your starter Wynaut, and Castform.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had such a hard time with Mismagius. On my most recent playthrough I lost to Fantina 4 times in a row, then after that I had a full team with only Bitchmagius left, and it proceeded to bend my entire team down and critical hit them all with shadow ball killing everyone. That marks Bitchmagius's spot as one of my least favorite pokemon ever.
Nah I had the a probelm on the first one but still manage to make it through. I used garaydos bite to sweep her other pokemon and did a good chunk to her mismagius. My garaydos faints and I switch in luxray because he has bite but she confuses me and i hurt myself multiple times and didnt get a bit through if luxray didnt hit it self i would win pretty easy, i switch in staraptor to do a little ompf of dmg but didnt get anything through. I only finished her off with a hurt monferno. Yeah lots of people have problems with her. All of my pokemon were lvl 27 ok.

You can split that double battle into two single battles if you talk to one of the trainers from the side.
SmallAnt did exactly that thing to overcome mandatory double battles during his No Damage playthrough challenge.
I seem to remember one of those two having a Gyarados, something that Mikey consistently struggles against in his playthroughs, and the route is in permanent rain. That single trainer would have given Mikey issues even if it were 1v1.

Hi, so I wanted to see who was the mvp of michaels play through, the way I did it was by giving one point for every known ko for a Pokémon, that was pretty much it, I only counted battles that you had to do, anyways, here’s the results, btw for like Aaron’s battle I didn’t know how many kills each, so I gave 1 point to every Pokémon he mentioned
6-vaporeon, 6 known kills
5-tie: Porygon z and Lucario, 7 known kills
3-tie: rampardos and togekiss, 12 known kills
And number 1, winning by a freaking LANDSLIDE, infernape, 26 KNOWN KILLS

22:40 So far, I've done 2 complete playthroughs of Pokémon Let's Go Eevee, with a third that I intend to complete. In all 3, my starter Eevee, with the same 7:1 male:female gender ratio as a normal Eevee, has been female. That is a chance of 0.195%!

Also, that third playthrough I mentioned is a shiny-only playthrough, in which I recently caught my 5th shiny (my team is Victreebel, Charizard, Golbat, Gyarados, and Weezing, in the order they were caught)

I actually dont think a lvl 100 castform could solo the elite 4 in gen 4, id imagine garchomp would still be faster than castform and would certainly one shot it especially if its diamond and pearl. I can see it being possible for gen 5 6 and 7 but gen 3 and 4 have too good of an elite 4

@ actually no it isnt, someone did a challenge where they only used their starter, it was mudkip (they didnt evolve it either) because he can learn all of the HMS needed in the game, and he used the gift castform that you get for the double battle and had castform attack his mudkip and then just shoved it back in the box. This was done in emerald though.

I went into Gardenia’s gym 3 levels lower than Roserade. After a butt load of poisoning and having my Kadabra faint, I finally managed to beat it.
for anyone wondering, this challenge is way easier if you’re willing to reset for a female eevee. i’m doing this challenge right now with two eeveelutions, jolteon and vaporeon, and crasher wake was an absolute breeze. cranidos also does learn a rock type move in the late level 20s, but it’s only ancient power so i suggest picking up rock tomb
