I’m almost to the point of giving up on football videogames. Expectations with Madden are always low but EA always find a way of plumbing them to previously unknown depths.
Its been 5 years for me, i won't reward a company that puts out a shit product every year. I can only hope my sacrifice will make a difference. Maybe my son will get to play a great football game when he gets older 😔

It’s not a fun trip ‘cause I’ve traditionally loved football games like Gameday 97/98/99, Madden 94/95/97/2000/01/02/03/04/05/06/07/08/10/12/15/I guess the four games of 17 counts, some of the Gamebreaker games, most of the EA NCAA football games on PS3 and 04 on PS4....anyway, I used to play a lot of football games. I don’t anymore, and to date, I haven’t played a new football game since Madden 17. I was extremely disappointed.
You do realize this “player tracking” is just a crutch for when we all complain about gameplay, they can say “oh well it’s player movement, it’s realistic! It’s next gen stats!”

From what it sounds like the only thing the player tracking actually does is make the ratings more accurate. But if actual gameplay is still trash fixing the ratings doesn't mean much.

I was lucky to inherit a ps2 with madden 01, 02 and 04. Greatest sports gaming of my life. I didn’t even buy another madden until 25, they were that good. EA hasn’t come close to any of those for me.
Madden is over. Their producers and developers have no vision. Unless 2K completely screws up it’s arcade football game, I fully expect that the NFL is going to use one of the opt out clauses in their exclusive license agreement with EA by 2023 or even 2022.

(Long story) But this game is awful. Me and a group of buddies were haven’t a friendly tournament and I was down by 3 with 1:37 left of game. My defense is on the field to stop my buddy GreenBay packers on 1st down he throws a slant which made it a 32 yard play but fumbled , I picked it up then his RT hit my DB that and made me fumble which ended up in his team recovering the ball. Madden has a booth review on the spot and was called reversed. Next play it is 2 and 75 the game flipped the ball to the opposite side of field which made me able to shut him down and take the win.
I got the chance to see a demo of the RFID chips in the pads. It wasn't related to madden but just a new tool being used by the NFL. This was 3 years ago and I did not get the impression it could be used to tell what way the players where facing but rather their locations on the field. We put on pads and ran a play then could watch an X and Os animation and could track where we were on the field. They mentioned wanting one in the ball but there were issues to work out with that(maybe have done that by now)

I still want to understand what “simulation” entails in this agreement. Can 2K not do a franchise, a dynasty? Can 2K not do normal size bodies and realistic physics? Because I really don’t see what EA is doing that is in anyways representative of simulation. Maybe there’s more wiggle room in there than we know.

Madden wants to claim it's the best football simulation game but they don't have all the NFL uniforms... The Raiders use to be Black and Gold. The Cardinals had the Arizona flag on the side of their jerseys, The 49ers had this dark red jersey with gold pants.
Console limitations never held Madden back, I don’t care what anyone says. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for Madden on the Nintendo Gamecube to be more in depth than Madden on the Playstation 5.
I just want the game to be fluid again. I understand the animations are meant to make the game “realistic,” but compared to older games like NCAA14 madden just feels so stiff.
I thinks it funny I was playing madden 20 today and its the same madden animations that screw you over. (It’s always the small ones, like staggering your movements, sucking you into animation slowing down and speeding up animations, or getting stuck to blockers and blocker running past defenders and much more)
If you can actually just pick your play in next gen, that’s next gen play calling. Since last update tons of guys getting timed out of game because there's a bug that pops up here and there that prevents you from picking any play.

Madden 06 is forever what they fear but 21 next gen is worse in my opinion. Broken gameplay due to being scripted heavily, the ai can’t figure out what to do with the ball in the air because it’s blind from lack of coding that should be reworked from the ground up. I don’t have to work in the gaming industry to see and know what needs to be fixed because it’s right in the trailer. Now, only EA is wins, and we have suffered all these years without a quality, updated football game to enjoy. I'm so pissed about this EA/NFL contract extension. Nearly all of my favorite players of old are retired, and I didn't get to enjoy playing as them in an updated game. Since it's all about money, I just wish there was some way we could really hurt EA's pockets.

The fact that the innovation has left ea has been shown. Suits continue to control madden an developers are not doing anything to say no. Madden 06 is forever what they fear but 21 next gen is worse in my opinion. Broken gameplay due to being scripted heavily, the ai can’t figure out what to do with the ball in the air because it’s blind from lack of coding that should be reworked from the ground up. I don’t have to work in the gaming industry to see and know what needs to be fixed because it’s right in the trailer. Lazy gold diggers of a company with no respect for those developers who made it before them, talking about the start to the end of madden 08. Haven’t seen innovation from that company in years and while I bought madden 20 I had hoped not having a madden since 13 that there would have a light in next gen but this is a deep dark hole opening into a dark cave and free falling to the ground. sooner ea will hit the core of the planet and burn, enough is enough. Mr. Ryan you got it right man they are recycling old features giving it back to us as something new in next GEN. On top of that mess they are charging us $75 for the recycle junk

Bro- you’re hitting the nail on the head with every fucking video!! It blows my mind this company does nothing to improve this gameplay despite the feedback, especially after the uproar this year. They tried to trick us with certain gameplay clips and you called them out. You’re speaking for so many out hear and keep up the good work!

10:55👍. I used to be completely into football games. I used to play 2K and Madden. I miss those days. We had a choice. Competition made each game better. The customer won back then. Now, only EA is wins, and we have suffered all these years without a quality, updated football game to enjoy. I'm so pissed about this EA/NFL contract extension. Nearly all of my favorite players of old are retired, and I didn't get to enjoy playing as them in an updated game. Since it's all about money, I just wish there was some way we could really hurt EA's pockets.
The NFL is truly pathetic for not catering to their fans that really love the game and letting 2k just get a chance at making the best game possible. Madden is selling the NFL short and they are truly wasting time doing nothing to advance the NFL brand like 2k the NFL should truly be embarrassed
how does NFL Fever have the way players wear their pants above the knee or the option to change it, but Madden still has the players with knee pads down to there legs...

There isn’t another option. Licensing restricts it to become relevant and playable to relevantly play another football game. I’d hop on any other game that came out, but it just can’t happen due to paperwork. Which is sad.
It’s pathetic that arguably the best core gameplay means that they half assed it.
They took features out and added them years later and presented them as "new" innovations. EA is the worst.

Literally the saddest gaming Company out there. Billions of dollars, a loyal fan base, despite their shortcomings, soooo much technology, and it still falls short for basically every other sports game. 2K, The Show, FIFA, Etc. All of those company's cares about their product, put care into it, and listen to their fan bases.
