The last part tho. I am so touched by Gary's stories. You really can see how hard he worked to be where he is today. his 20s were such crazy years, i am so proud if him as his fan. I got goosebumps when they showed his notes and then the same song he sang in front of thousands of fans. You can see he is a very deep person and he gave up on a lot of things, but that was all worth it. He deserves all this success and much more. FANGIRLING MODE: I WANT ALL HIS SNAPS AND SHIRTS OMG THEY ARE SO COOOOL!!!
Jae suk recognized the guests by their items, it really shows how close he was with them ^^

What I took from Gary's stories: hard work will get you to where you want to be one day, and always stay true to yourself.

omg gary is fucking awesome. i only watch him on running man and i love to listen to his music. but this is the first time i learned more about his private life and the way he is working and thinking.. i wish this episode had been a couple hours longer.
im only here one last time for Gary and Sukjin, other than that, i prefer the old concept way better

I've always loved Gary, but I feel like I love and respect him even more after watching this. I also really like the fact that their personal things were donated to people who need it more than they do. Although the new concept will take some getting used to, I feel like if they take netizens' comments into consideration, it could become a real success. Fighting!!
I liked Gary fr RM but this gave wonderful insight abt him as a person and I'm glad I watched this!

You can easily tell that Gary is passionate about his music. I admire him so much as an artist, and even more so as a person. Although he has been MIA lately, and there have been reports that Leesang has disbanded, I will continue to support him in whatever endeavor he chooses to do. +Niswatus Syuyukhoh ratings in korea were going down so they decided to revamp the show. if it went on as per normal, most likely the show would have gotten cancelled
if they invite more young generation. I think it will better..
I dont watch happy together some time because I dont know the guest, or they are too old (so I dont know what they talking about) and they dont seem to be searched in the global internet.
If they invite boyband, girlband, and actor/actress who teenager-20er loved, I think many person wanna watch it.
I remembered the old happy together invite young generation many times.
Niswatus Syuyukhoh it doesn't really make a difference because their ratings were the lowest during the big bang special. i think it's because they had the same concept for a long time so people were getting bored with it. plus, their rivals for the same time slot are quite strong

+ladyk Minho He's getting old too so he's not as involved as he was in the entertainment industry. Plus he already has more than enough money to live the rest of his life without worrying about his finance so he doesn't need to force himself to be on a show for money. So whenever he's on a show or guest in one, it means that he wanted to be on it and obviously, we know there's not a lot. That shows how little interest he has for most of the variety shows.
I think Gary Oppa have a good taste about fashion. What a cool man 😍
Seeing this episode make me feel like sometimes international fans appreciate running man members more compared to the Korean fans..I maybe wrong about this, but being a running man fan for almost five years, this is what I feel
To be honest, I'm also not quite feeling it for this first episode. But, hey, this is just the first episode and they still worked on the new concept. Some things can still be changed to find the most perfect set up. And also, we already so used abouth the sauna/cafetaria concept, for about 7 years, so we couldn't compared those 7 years with this just 1 episode. New change always hard. Let's give it a chance and see where will this be going.
***** Yeah, but for further episodes they couldn't only rely solely on star power. The concept and format of the show are the most important thing. Their several past episodes which have top tier celebrities as guests turned out to have low ratings.
And I wouldn't say they are weak guests. Gary and Ji Suk Jin are really well-known celebrities, the star power is not that weak, eventhough may not be the highest level.
But, yeah, time will tell.
***** Yeah, but just like Jaesuk said, this is not fix concept yet. They will still keep on improving it and there can still several changes in the future.
I'm not hating, but for me the weakest link in this first episode is Kim Poong and Saeho. Hyunmoo, seeing his past shows, I think he could adapt. But, again, this is just the first episode of the new concept, and Kim Poong is really new, so I can't say he's a failure yet.
I actually don't think Saeho is as bad as many people said, but I do think he's kinda bland. He's not bad (and I respect how hardworking he is) but not that great either, at least for me.
But I really think they should add female panelist. It will make the show more colorful. The old HT has Lee Hyori, and then there are Park Misun and Shin Bongsun. It kinda balances the panel. To be honest, I wish they at least keep Kim Shinyoung if Park Misun really had to go.
As for Korean netizenz... Well, what can we say. That's just the way they are and will never changed xD
Omg that's so true, it felt disrespecting when they kept making fun of Guang Liang's name. BUT I loved how Ji Suk came in to back him up, " I don't like u talking about my Guang Liang like that. " tsk tsk no no☝️☝️ LOl.

+QY L I definitely felt that too, with the way they were acting as if Guang Liang were a nobody just because they've never heard of him. And maybe I'm overreacting a little bit, but I also don't really like how Seho was saying that he's proud of Sukjin because even someone like him who's unpopular in Korea, can be popular via the Hallyu wave, in China... I mean, it's kind of rude not only to Sukjin, but also a little to the Chinese, because it's kind of implying that the Chinese people are willing to pick up whatever Korean celebrity that Korea doesn't care about, as if the Chinese is here to pick up scraps (which Ji Sukjin is not - he's a genuinely entertaining character on Runningman!). I don't know, Hallyu is great and all for spreading Korean culture, but sometimes the nationalist sentiment behind it gets a little too overwhelming for me.

I feel like people are so negative. It hurts my heart to see all those people complaining about Seho. Do you guys know that it's very hard to be in entertainment business in south korea? Seho has been in the industry for 10 years but it's only now that he's noticed. He's desperate for attention but I can't bring myself to hate him or blame him because if he doesn't get noticed, agencies wouldn't call him etc... He may be not funny, but can you guys respect him for his hard work at least?

the concept is great! going through old things always brings back memories and can be quite fascinating. it was really interesting to listen to Seokjin`s and Gary`s stories. and i really liked that they donated some of their stuff!

No matter what is the concept, yoo jae Suk and park myungsoo are 'the face' for this show. Without them, this is not happy together 😄
It's actually a great new concept. Why tone down to 10-20 items? It's boring.
Plus, we can get to know each celebrity more with their items, including their backstory. It's actually nice.

I really enjoyed this -- loved seeing Sukjin and Gary's belongings that all had stories attached to them! No matter what format this show is in, I love it :) I'm glad a lot of their unused belongings went to help other people.
I hope Hyun moo won't ruin the show to me. He is quite ignorant to the guests in other show...

The aim of new format is actually really meaningful. Every beginning is difficult so I think it's too early to say whether it's hit or miss. But I can say I enjoyed this episode and all beautiful stories of Gary and Seokjin.

After watching the whole thing, i think that this is a good concept. It helps people in a lot of ways. It helps them get rid of unnecessary things and giving them a new home, which could be very useful for many. I'm still upset that they changed the old Happy Together, i'm fine with it if this was a whole new show with a new name. But then again, i think it's fine this way too. I like the fact that they're helping others, and at the same time we get to know more about our favourite singers/actors etc like Gary & Sukjin. ps: invite Jihyo and Haha next maybe haha
I've been watching this show more than five years. this show keeps getting better..keep up your hard work..I'm hoping for this show to lasts as long as it can...the emcees are good and I love their sarcastic comments to each other.
Watching Gary notes and all those book he read. I kinda want to read it like that Cheese book or that Go Mad one hour books. I wonder if they are still sold on market and the authord of the books so I could buy it. Cause I'm more or less in an aimless life like Gary at that time. :/

I do agree 100 item is way too much. They should change it to like 10-15 items. Downside is that, there will be less item given away to the people in need.

+Kenny Wow He likes to cut guests' talk and try to get as much screen time as he can. He tries too hard to be funny, but he's mostly not. That's why many viewers don't like him in the previous season, including me. I like him on Roommate, but not on Happy Together.

KBS ! Why are you changing the most elegant show in Korea here and my favorite one ?! I personally am uncomfortable without Misun here and more annoyed with the "new concept". Why dont just bring back the old Happy Together concept in jjimjjilbang from season 1 2 ? Its more convenient and creates a much friendlier aura between the casts. Thats waaaayyyy better than this "new concept" ! This show I am afraid is becoming more and more boring with these changes and no chemistry whatsoever. 왜왜 왜 왜 왜 ??? This as a comparison is the same when the other tv decided to change Strong Heart concept.

Not only that, people who are in need gets free stuff. This concept will definitely get high rating. If you don't like it then don't watch it. Also, they even said they'll be changing stuff around after reading the feedbacks.

why everyone keep on criticizing everything about the new theme .. we all know that nothing last forever.. the important is that the main concept is still here .. stories and funny news about the celebrities... i know all HT fans are used to one specific theme and look .. but improvement and new ideas are appearing to keep the show alive and uprated.. I'm a running man fan and the ideas of the show kept ob changing but the main idea is still there .. and it's all for the better of the show and to keep it alive .. personally u like the new theme better and i would love if people would just give the new look a chance

This moved me so much. For me, as a person that donate a lot to others, I loved seeing this concept and hearing the stories about different things. I really love this new concept.
And Gary has been a role model for me for many years now and it feels great hearing the memories about all the stuff. Takes me back to like 2009 when I found Leessang hahah
You all need to know that the concept before has been used for many many years and KBS found the need to change it a bit, plus the ratings has gone down a lot since the beginning of the show. So don't be so negative about it. It's still work in progress so chill.

Gary is my favorite running man!!! Hope people would recognize his talent more!
His talent was/is already recognized. Asura Balbalta album was a perfect all kill, all the songs in the album top the chart 1-10 positions for 3 days, Turn off the TV was No. 1 on the chart for 28 days. After 2012, Leessang/Gary never promoted song on TV/music shows but always manage to All-kill or Top chart. Their concerts were always sold out. Before Running Man time, every time Leessang dropped an album or single, it would top the chart. You can search more about him through old articles.
I think Leessang/Gary was less well known internationally but not in South Korea.
Damn, Korean TV is cutthroat. I mean, why would this show need a format change, when it already kicked so much ass?
+Danceofmasks For international viewers maybe, but in Korea their rating was going down, and they sometimes got the lowest rating compared to the same time-slot program in other channel, so it's understandable that they want to do some changes to keep the show oing.
i dont understand korean people at all~ healing camp is boring but the rating there is very high. i dunno~ i still think running man and happy together are cooler~
家族ルーシー Well, it's just the matter of personal taste. My favourite programs are the same as you, Running Man and Happy Together.
But when we said that we don't understand why a certain program got low rating, while the others got high rating, they can also say the same thing about us. So to each of their own taste. And afterall, these are all Korean programs in Korean broadcasting, so their opinions are matters more than our opinions as international viewers.

I think RM and IC/MD are my favourite variety shows that still exists to this date. I like RM overall but it's not good as before. IC is better than ever rn. Myungsoo is hilarious. Jaesuk is the most important figure in every variety shows.

The only thing I wanna complain about is the lack of Park Misun. I feel like her presence balances out Yoo Jaesuk and Park Myungsoo.. For other things, I'm interested to see how this show will progress. The new format and concept and seems interesting too.
Anyway, rather than bringing stuffs to be put away, wouldn't it better to ask the guests to bring items that they wanna tell stories about? I mean, most of the things that have stories are valuable things and of course they don't want to bring it to the show if the purpose is to put the things away. Wouldn't it means that the guests will most likely to bring a less meaningful things? But then again.. it is for a good cause, isn't it.
Well, that's just a thought.

i kinda like the new concept. it's so refreshing and cool how they help the artist discard all their personal belongings that are not useful to them anymore. jaesuk is awesome as always and hyunmoo is funny too! myungsoo the grumbler always makes me laugh and looking forward to saeho and poong in the future! happy together season 3, fighting! ^^

Agreed! The next part is much better. Very intimidating and inspiring. I really get so inspired with Gary in this episode. I am going to give this concept a chance. I think this new concept need some times for all people to accept it. For me, I love the new, fresh concept that they are trying to show us...But, I do feel this concept is too "I am a Man" Maybe they need to have 1 @ 2 female in it?

Yes the part where they were at the conveyor belt was pretty interesting! I understand them unpacking the things would kind of give them some insight on the guest but it just takes too much time and just makes the mcs too tired. Idk what they can do but they shld def change up this part.
