All you guys bashing Hwijae , don't you guys think you're going to far? If they're going to be on variety TV show then you've got to be funny to get air time. If not then you only get a few close up shots. Plus, if you notice, Hwijae isn't comfortable, nowhere near comfortable. His child was screaming in the back, I'm sure he was talking a lot just to get his son off his mind.
What he did was fine honestly. People are just butt hurt. Calling him a douche bag is totally over the line. I am korean and that's how my in laws from south Korea act as well. It's stern direct humor. It's not being a douchebag. Sure the others could of talked more but even they couldn't stop laughing at the stuff he brought up.
Oh yeah, having bashers can make Hwijae more popular so he doesn't care. He gives life in this episode so if he wasn't there, this episode's rating would be poor. Plus, we know people nowadays wants some spreading gossips so I bet some of the K-netizens loved what he'd share. And did you know how Hwijae wants to finish quickly the shoot bcs he's worried of his sons hearing them crying at the back? Before you judge, please know him well.

The comments about Hwijae in the comment section are just really rude. They filmed this for a long time, and if some of the guest weren't funny per-say why would they keep their part in? Hwijae was entertaining, and he had to do something about getting his mind off of his babies crying in the back. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but like why do you have to be so rude about it you know.
I agree. Without him this episode would have been really boring. The fact of the matter is he and the other hosts have a lot of history and have not gotten together in a long time.

Why is Hwijae getting so much hate? I like him. I thought this episode was hilarious! The only qualm I have with this episode is that the got off topic and didn't really focus on 'The Return of Superman'. But the episode was still funny nonetheless. The fact that Hwijae knows dirt on everyone blows my mind.
Wouldn't be a problem if the theme was about reminiscing the past with Hwijae & maybe other MCs but the episode was about Superman Returns and the Dads. Hyung Sun is a top actor, Choo Sunghoon is a loveable tough guy with an interesting story & so much achievements & Tablo is just awesome and yet Jae Sook or the editors failed to bring them into the conversation. Yes it was full of laughter but you can see that Hyung Sun got silent, Tablo's words got pointy when he started getting annoyed ("Well it was me in the car, not Sunghoon wasn't it?") & Sunghoon just smiled it away when every time he started to talk Hwijae just cut him off..
Yea, like I said, that was the only problem with the episode. I agree they were off topic. But these shows are heavily edited. They probably did talk about 'The Return of Superman', but the footage of Hwijae and the MC's reminiscing of the past was thought to have more value. Just a thought.
Teresa Leon then they should have used this edited work as a special episode for those two only. the majority of us watched because of the cast of the superman. The stories would have been funny to me as well if I had actually know the hosts of the happy together. But for a person who watches this show for the very first time I couldn't relate to their conversations and I got bored. I understand those who are funs of the show they probably liked all that talk.

Honestly I thought the episode was super funny. But also everyone if you watch the Christmas episode of Return of Superman (episode 8)... you could sort of tell that it's possible that Hwijae is trying to distract himself and go on with the recording because Seoeon was crying for him the whole time and he was able to hear it in the recording studio. So you could sort of understand why he was talking so much as well. So don't hate on him... he had such a hard time recording.
I watching this for 3 times and still enjoy because lee hwi jae .. He know how to make this show funny.. It entertainment show .. And all host know hwijae closely.. Anyway ler hwi jae is the best.. I will support him ..

The summary of the guests:
Sunghoon is that guy who looks scary but is actually a soft-hearted and is easily entertained. Tablo is the most innocent-looking guy here. Junu's father didn't say much (at least after the editing) but once he said something it's incredibly funny ("Don't think about other people business"). And Hwijae, in contrast to Sunghoon who sat beside him, is the force to be reckoned.
sorry, but you have to know that lee hwi jae got the most parts because the directer edited out almost all of the other three. its not his fault, blame the directer. overall i liked the episode i thought it was funny. ~

HILARIOUS episode!
Hwijae was funny as hell and so were his stories. It's not his fault that the other guests were so boring for 10 hours (that's how long they shot this) that they had to be edited out.
People, just sit back and laugh and the comical stuff. That's what this show is for. It's never been about giving everyone equal airtime.

Well yeah... The fact Lee Hwijae had more screen time than other guest is true...but, come on, He is indeed so funny and really fit the show... He is one of the best entertainer in S.Korea, so no doubt He got more screen time... I want to see other guest to have screen time too... I want all of them share about their life too... I just started watching "The Return of Superman," and i fell in love with it. Seeing them here was a pleasant surprise :) It's creepy how much Lee Hwijae knows about people...His rivalry with Myungsoo just cracked me up. Happy Together, Fighting!

I liked Hwijae's stories, but I feel like he should have had a special episode for himself. I wanted to hear about how the dads felt about their kids, wives, and just The Return of Superman in general not gossip.
I can understand why Tablo was so creeped out by Hwijae, Imagine someone you're not even friends with knowing so many random things about you. I would be EXTREMELY creeped out!

Lol, the recording of Happy Together are so long ( 6-10 hrs long) they sure did the talking session with all the guests, it just Hwijae's part are a bit funnier than the 3 dads. Junu's dad was a bit tired like BS mentioned it in the opening, and Sarang's dad is usually not talking too much since he is a fighter if you watched him on family outing. Its not a big deal at all if Hwijae got so much air time bcs he is simply funny. So I don't understand why so many hate comments about him here. Phew~~
for those not familiar with hwijae, he was a comedian, singer, and actor whos been in the business over 20 years. hes butting in and being silly and having fun. he's not like an older brother, but like a father to a lot of these people on the show. hes also extremely close friends with lot of the others on the show. so its all just fun and jokes.

Wow so much hate going on on the comments section for Hwijae, as soon as I watched this episode I knew that these over sensitive and butthurt people will be really jealous of him because he outshone the other dads by a long mile, seriously without Hwijae this episode would have been dull, only thing people can legitimately complain about is Junu's dad getting no screentime, I love Sung Hoon and Tablo but I have to admit their personality is boring for a variety show, even then the MC's asked a lot of questions to Tablo and SH, Tablo talked about how he got into the show, told Haru mistaken for a boy story, talked about his wife etc etc, he got the most screentime after Hwijae and you know what he might have told a lot of other stories but it might not have been funny or interesting so it is possible it didn't make the final cut, Sung Hoon on the other hand just looks quiet, tbh Hwijae managed to make Sung Hoon's stories more interesting,

Agree with the opinions of most people here. 4 guests, and Jang Hyeonseong is practically invisible, which is sad considering the fact that he has 2 of the most well-behaved and adorable boys I've seen. Questions should be asked about how he raises the kids with his wife, because I've seen much worse kids who throw tantrums. Either something's wrong with Hwijae sunbaenim and Jaesuk sunbaenim, or something's wrong with the editing. But Jaesuk sunbaenim is usually a very considerate person I think...

Totally agree. Kinda disappointed with this episode cause I was happy to have the Superman daddies on the show (its my new fave show), and it was more like a reunion for those two instead. Most of the conversations are just of their memories only both of them would understand..

20 minutes of the Lee Hwijae talking....and so far is like a show presenting by him and as if the main cast of the show are his guests. I don't blame him, this is what he does best. But seriously the MCs' of Happy together should have respected their other guests a little more. But I suppose they also enjoy to be the main attraction. I hope they will have another episode with the same guest and hopefully I will get to know more about the other dads.
Isn't there supposed to be new ep of Happy Together by today. It's weird that they huvn't uploaded new ep yet.
Usually MC Yoo and Misun and even PMS do a good job of talking to all the guests. But they have no control over whether or not the responses on entertaining enough to stay in -- those get taken out by the PDs.
Yeah I agree with you. I know the production team required funny stories but there's no point of inviting more guests if at the end of the day, they are just focusing on certain people and the others got edited out bcz their stories is not satisfying enough. :)
I like this kind of shows, it seems (apparently) that nothing is planned. It's like watching friends chatting about the good days, it feels really nice :)

How can Hwijae know a lot of information like that? Isn't in that time, socmed isn't really a things too. Also, not a lot of celebrity try to expose where there about when they are in holidag. It's kinda amazing yet creepy kinda things at one time. ...the whole time I was watching this, I was waiting for them to get to the point. End of the show, they still never got to the point. They hardly even mentioned the kids or them being dads. Though I have to admit a few of their bachelor stories were hilarious.

When I first saw this "Happy Together" Episode featured "The Return of Superman Reality Stars" I was soooo Excited & Happy! But Now I feel bad for the other dads, Cause this was just mostly a Lee Hwijae Special. SIGH... I was really looking forward to hear what the other dads wanted to say even more than him to tell you frankly. And they even didn't talk that much about the Kids either!! Weren't hwijae's twins crying for the whole time while he was filming? So maybe he was purposely loud so he wouldn't be tortured by the sound of his babies wailing for nearly 2 hours?

They film this show for 10 hours max so it was longer than that. If you've watched Superman you would know that his twins cry the moment they don't see their father anymore. :( And now he gets so much hate for trying to just film the show while his babies were crying.
I did watch the episode of Superman. I was just mistaken by the actual length of the average episode of Happy Together and the amount of time they film for. And yeah, he definitely doesn't deserve all the crap he's getting.
