Anytime! Here is the assembly/first start video m.th-cam.com/video/ssJZmgAcuzo/w-d-xo.html i didnt cover every single part but i did the best i could for this build
This is a yz not a wr so I’ve never had that issue. Im not hard on my transmission or clutch so its all good. It all looked good when I had it apart too 👍 sorry youre having that issue. You will need to replace which ever gear or gears are broken
@@frankiemarchese2978 apparently the dogs wear out on 3rd and 5th gear cause it to slip out out gear. This also wear out the center shift arm. Sounds like I'm in for some fun!!
@@corymacdonald383 ive heard things about the 4th gear on the 3rd gen wr’s but thats 3rd gen. Yeah you might as well freshen things up as far as new rings and maybe piston. Maybe even valve seals if you’ve never done it before. Just my 2 cents
Hello friend I’m back with another question, we were able to get my yz426 running really great and all but the problem now is there’s oil spewing out from this small hole on the right side of the cylinder head, I’m not sure what it is and what to do, I read a couple forums saying that it’s either the spark plug is loose or a bad cam cover seal, and another is the piston rings are bad, I’m hoping ya just the seal bc I just finished the rebuild, but what’s the indication for?
I dont see any holes down by the base. Are you talking about that hold thats right in the center of the right side of the cylinder head? Right in between the two head bolts?
Hmm refresh my memory, did you rebuild the bike? In the cylinder head theres a large allen head bolt that may have gotten loose. Thats the only thing I can think of
Just maintenance. I want to know that it can go another 20+ years strong. I figured $1,000 is way cheaper than $2,000+ if it failed catastrophically. I’m also bored and always wanted to rebuild a 426 engine
I was about to order a crankcase splitter tool, glad I watched this video looks like I won’t be needing one for this engine.
👍 Glad you found it. Just a couple of small hits with the rubber hammer does the job well
Thanks for this. It was a great help rebuilding my wr426. Hope to see your reassembly video.

Fuck yeah
My 2000 WR400F is slipping in 5th gear. Have you ever had that problem. I hear it fairly common with the early WR's.

@@frankiemarchese2978 good project this winter 👌
Hello, my 1st is blown, would I need to slit the case or could I swap em out through the side
You need to split the cases 100%

I’ll take a look at my head today to see what weep hole youre talking about, is it up by where the decomp lever hooks up to the head?
@@frankiemarchese2978 no it’s lower then that, it’s like right above the base of the engine or block

@@frankiemarchese2978 yes that hole, oil spews out when I’m accelerating but when it’s at idle it doesn’t

Why was the stator side not shown taken apart on this vid ??🤔
Sorry I did that before taking the engine out of the bike and didn’t get a video of that part
Just maintenance or was there a failure?

If i had to guess it definitely had at least 200 hours, it looks like it always ran clean oil which is good
I finished it. It started first kick! Ill be uploading a video of the assembly soon
Where did you get all of your parts
Bikebandit, ebay, & partzilla
