Thanks for the good customer service comments for ChikfilA. I'm 68 and I really enjoy my little part time job at ChikfilA. My favorite truck stop food is Buckees brisket sandwich.
A friend of mine told me a long time ago that your cows aren’t worth anything until you have the check in your hand. Good luck on the sale. I can’t guess either but my guess is 624 pounds.
@@HurricaneCreekFarms I have those same silver panels you use in your handling system. When the calves walked by them I looked to see which rail their backs came to and compared them to my calves at that same height. Still kind of a difficult guess watching it on a TV.
Your crossbred heifers look amazing! My brahman heifer had a set of twin brangus heifers! Im going to keep both and run them back to our hereford bull , also the drought we had caused a lot of farmers to sell their entire herds so the prices are VERY high right now
I'm your devoted Great grandma fan so I feel like I can say this ~ I miss those gorgeous curls popping out under your hat! I feel like a Granny who just saw her Grandson get his first haircut. Haha! Just watched a vid where you briefly took your hat off twice and I have to say you're smashing your new look! I have a question. I have noticed you never video you having to assist in a cow's difficult labor as many channels do. I find that interesting and are always amazed at the seemingly calm ingenuity of farmers and ranchers. I just wondered why he don't show this unwelcome, but necessary, part of raising cattle. I sincerely apologize if my question is inappropriate or intrusive. Love your channel and always recommend it on a few other channels I watch! "Eat beef and God bless". (The best slogan out there for the industry!) ✨God bless your precious family and well run operation✨
Fortunately, (& I hope I’m not jinxing myself, as we are only half way through calving) we haven’t had any dystocia in the last couple of years. We like to think that our choice in genetics and good nutrition/health plans has kept us from having as much of those issues. We’ll definitely show it when it happens! Our most popular video ever is us pulling a dead calf: th-cam.com/video/gmzwRILJP4U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yaX93_rWxz7LfQbb
@@HurricaneCreekFarms Just watched that video and I am glad due to your "diligent breeding and attention to nutrition" you don't have to make many of those vids. Whew! Could smell that all the way here in Nashville! God's blessings on the rest of the calving season.
We eat lots of local grass fed beef. It’s our main protein. I just found your channel and really enjoy it. I haven’t a clue how to guess the weight. I’ll say a lot 😂
@@HurricaneCreekFarms can you really tell the difference what color they were while you’re eating them? Lol Black, brown, red… they all make a turd in the end 💩😜
That was funny Smoky was hiding behind the feed bin , he knew that trailer was not a good deal 😂 . The avg. wt. 630 . Tell us how much the sale barn dock price on horn calves ?
They discount a bit. The horned steer was one of the bigger ones, but they discounted him and the other one with a good bit of ear quite a bit compared to the others.
Top payout calves here down in my neck of SC averaging $3.20-3.30/lb on 300-400#. Just saw an OK report $4.40 same weight range. Would be interested to hear what it turns out to be in your area. It ain't gonna be going down. Even breakers and boners are pushing $2/lb +/- lately. Crazy ass times.
🌟1018 lbs - Im curious whats going on with good ole Smokey??? Usually shes just so adorable and cute looking!! But there she is looking like a Wet Mop with a bunch of Cow Licks all over her!!!🤦🏼🤣🤣🤣🤣 She is to funny! You know im still learning all about you and your farm.. So i got a question.. Go figure! Lol Why is Smokey the only one who acts the way she acts? Only one that comes up to the feed bin all by her self and the only one that escapes and then to be found every time up roaming by the feed bin? Lol As usual thanks for sharing and i cant wait for tge next one!! Have a great night!! 😊😊
That’s a bottle calf for you. Because they become so comfortable with us during those early days, they don’t have typical cattle behavior or personality. She’s definitely part of the herd, though. Her coat should slick off nice with this warmer weather.

Never had the brisket sandwich, but I have had their brisket breakfast burrito. It was fantastic!
A friend of mine told me a long time ago that your cows aren’t worth anything until you have the check in your hand. Good luck on the sale. I can’t guess either but my guess is 624 pounds.
That’s very true. And they’re worth whatever someone is willing to pay you. No more. No less.

My weight guess 539#. I’ve always loved the horned cattle. A nice horned Hereford bull… GORGEOUS!!
Thank you!
The way of raising livestock is rustic and simple. You are a farmer, I watched the entire video and felt peace from your image.
Love that yaller heffer!😊
She’s my favorite, too!

Love that you have a variety of colors in your cows. Kinda boring when they all look just alike.
Variety is the spice of life!
I agree with you on the colors! However, the market wants them to all be black. 🤷🏻♂️

Yeah, that’s exactly what the market demands!
