Yeah, I hope so as well, at the very least they could just make each day not last 2 irl hours (idk like 30 min each day, so it's 3 and a half hours for 7 days, not 14). Though I would prefer if they just add stuff to it and make it actually fun to play.

Honestly, anything that lets us live our lives without having to be in front of the game for 14hs straight is good in my book.

I think the bulk of the game its gameplay and attention to recreation is solid but that was indeed a weird thing to just change a character's race entirely. I'd like an acknowledgement if they haven't already cause there was no reason to just shift the character entirely.

Yep, not only because of bad economic relations, but reportedly there recently has been mass stabbing attacks on non-chinese (specifically japanese) that are staying for business/tourism in china, which might be another reason to why larry received “revisions” to his character
Yeah, and Meat Workers in other countries has always been a touchy subject, it's why Mudokons in Oddworld went from having 4 fingers to 3. Japan was not a fan of their initial design.
They've done this to Leon, Claire, Jill, and many others as remakes have been coming. Capcom wants to seem to bring in new talent with the new projects although TJ really was Frank
@@Ecdycis Sure, but it's difficult to get invested into characters when their voice actor keeps changing. That's the issue with the RE protagonists. Their personalities often change with voice actors. Stephanie Panisello has a much different vibe for Claire compared to Alyson Court.
@@Ecdycis The difference btw DR and RE VA though is that in RE they may change the VA but they cast voice actors with similar voices while with Frank, the old and new voice sounds COMPLETELY different. If they cast a new VA, at least have someone sounds similar to him, which is kind of ironic since in the trailer, the helicopter pilot sounds a lot like TJ Rotolo, so why not having him as the new Frank West.

@@Ecdycis I do hope Infinity Mode AND Overtime mode gets some changes. Maybe have 2 different versions of Infinity Mode or something. I don’t know what they’re gonna do but it would be nice to get some improvements to both of those modes.

The concept is nice but the execution was not that great. Tbh if they just add like the ability to save at least then it would actually be great. Also the fast forward time is for when you really just wanna get to the next case when you really have nothing to do and even then you don’t gotta use it.

One does require a lot of practice but at least you can take breaks and you gotta do it in under 5 hours and 30 AND you can save at least 15 times and when you complete it, you get a cool ass weapon and infinite ammo to top it off while the other requires you to go 14 hours straight of mostly sitting around just to get a pair of cool underwear…..the laser sword is cool but even then you gotta do at least 5 days like you said and that would take 10 hours. Listen I’m all for really hard challenges but asking to go 14 hours straight for a reward is abit much since not many ppl have that kind of time or patience
Actually trainwrecks tend to fare even better for me funny enough since I've played plenty of awful games already including - Gollum, Kong, The Crow, Walking Dead Destinies. If this is a trainwreck I'd be over the moon, I don't think it will be however I think it's going to be heavily modded by fans early to satiate the complaints they've been having
I genuinely think they had to change Larry’s look completely because it had to have been impossible to make a 4K model of Larry based on the original that isn’t horribly offensive and racist. Like I was a bit on the fence about how he looks in the original, orange yellow skin and his eyes don’t even open and missing front teeth is basically an early 2000s offensive Asian stereotype lol it probably wouldn’t have been a smart idea to depict Larry that way today especially with the hate crimes against Asians that happened not too long ago. However this new Larry look seems really interesting and as someone said in a Reddit thread that he actually looks like someone who works for the willamette mall butcher shop instead of og Larry who looks like he just kinda wandered in and started cutting meat lol
Larry in the original game was a charming character and I like the foil he served to Carlito, I definitely understand the changes. I just hope he is still Chinese and would look more appropriate in the modern age but it is okay if they change him

The developers are Japanese yes, Larry Chiang is a Chinese American Butcher. Tensions between Chinese/Japanese people are quite high especially as of late and it'd arguably be worse

Things I don't like: Franks new model looks weird The trailer putting a weird humorous spin on this game (This game is DARK when you pay attention to it, and putting a jazzy tune feels out of place tonally) No TJ, TJ doesn't make or break it, however he made Frank West feel like an average guy. This new VA seems a bit hammy for a "Journalist who is thrown into a terrifying situation and told to survive". Things I like: Literally everything else
Yeah, the only thing that disappoints me is the new voice, but Frank's new design is growing on me, even though I still think he should have looked younger, this new design looks more like OTR Frank, after he became a depressed alcoholic.
They decided to go with the beta version of Frank from a year before the game released. The game artist said he wanted to go for an ugly, wacky design originally then they scrapped it for a more refined version. I think it fits the vibe of Dead Rising, serious at times, stupid for the majority and cheesy as all hell
Dead rising 1 was much more serious in a lot of ways. Just the way Frank handles psychopaths and how he talks at the ending with Carlito and the soldier dude he feels more like a human than Chuck making those macabre, irreverent puns.
Tbh I'm a little bit worried. I loved DR 1 because Frank was such a cool guy .. the voice and looks in the original fitted him perfectly in my opinion. Now he looks like shit and the voice just doesn't come of as cool as in the original .. of course gameplay (hopefully) will be great but a big part of the likeability of the original came from Frank. Still I hope this game does well because I just love the franchise. Even bought the xbox one instead the ps4 back then just because of Dead Rising 3

I usually don't pre-order, but I love this series so much and I want it to continue. I would especially love a deluxe remaster of Dead Rising 2, that would hopefully include the Case Zero and Case West scenarios. And I would love a deluxe remaster of Dead Rising 3 as well, especially since 30 fps games hurt my eyes. And they should do a proper sequel to DR3, that continues the story of Isabela's villain arc.
I just recently finished a run for the saint achievement, due to the survivor ai it was difficult to day the least, but i love dead rising, and the original will always have a soft spot in my heart. I hope the bring back the mega man outfit and real blaster. I can't wait to see what DRDR brings!
The survivors are nicer once you realize they have minor quirks like stopping their movement when you get grabbed and they tend to follow your last order before having new ones
People think it's the last chance but really Deadrising is Capcom's 5th-6th most successful game. We will see 2 eventually flop or not. (I will say I'm not even skeptical, Capcom has done a great job at remasters and showing gameplay before release instead of cinematics)
This is driving me insane. Why is nobody noticing that the new camera is too low and way too close to Frank, compared to the original DR? People are noticing all the little details, but they're completely blind to an evident major issue that plagued the series since the "canadian" sequel! Maybe they're doing it to better show off the new graphics, who knows - but in a game that's all about navigating hordes and planning your route, it's a terrible mistake. The primary reason no sequel felt like DR was the camera, it's as simple as that.
@@reviewpanda3125 Then I guess people has different tolerance levels... for me, it's a game-breaking issue. It just feels claustrophobic, in DR2 I constantly wanted to see more and be more aware of my surroundings.
@@Ecdycis It felt floaty, yeah, and I also think that improving the survivor AI took away a lot of the tension and fun (they've already confirmed doing it again for this "remake", another thing that worries me). I never thought about this before, but DR mentions cattle experiments in Santa Cabeza, and funnily enough I can see the surivor mechanics of DR1 as a cattle wrangler minigame. There was the occasional frustrating moment, sure, but knowing you've managed to direct dumb animals right to the corral was a very rewarding experience. I wonder if some quality of life improvements really make sense, when they fix something that's supposed to be a challenge in the first place.

They need to have online battles where 20 people spawn in the mall. You start off at level and you all fight to get best photo, most zombie kills, most player kills, most survivors saved and they all tally up and rank the 20 based on everything.
I really hope this is good, I really hope it is. Cuz’ if it’s not, then this folks, this is to be the final nail in the coffin of Dead Rising. It was already bad enough with Dead Rising 4, but if this were to be bad, this will be the last we’ll ever see from or ever hear from Dead Rising again.

My hopes and wishes: 1) survivor AI is updated 2) they add multiplayer (not likely but still hopeful) 3) they add the option to save/pause in infinity mode 4) they add dr2 markers and indicators for survivor proximity to transitions
The downside was the VA of Frank West in this deluxe remaster was not the same original VA of Frank West in the original classic DR1, and it looks like they changed the Chinese butcher villain into a white/American butcher in this deluxe remaster. plus the original Frank West DR1 classic look design with just high rendered graphics was just a skin and only available for pre order, the supposed design of Frank West like in the original was not suppose to be a skin but his default looks imo, not this new design with so much high hairline, Frank looks 10 times older in his new look design in this dead rising deluxe remaster.. But still looking forward for some of this game reviews before buying it though. (Not you IGN😝)
I hope that it has a more casual mode like DR3 and 4, I'm a lot older now than when DR first came out and don't have the time these days to grind it out.
I'm excited, admittedly might be a bit of a rose tinted lens situation from DR1 literally being my first game I ever played. One thing I'm kinda surprised you didn't mention is the fact Frank was on the bike in Paradise Plaza. I'm not too into breaking the game or extremely niche features, but I don't recall that being a thing in the original. You think it's a demo thing or do you think we might have a new vehicle spawn or two?
Dead Rising is a Top 5 game for me. Now with the new quality of life improvements ( Like moving while aiming ) this game will easily be an all time favorite. A lot of thing changing but sometimes change is good right? Counting down the days for this game and looking forward to platinum it also.
My expectations are low, like RE3make low. I see performance issues incoming especially with capcom on insisting on using denuvo. The one clear improvement is the ramp to avoid survivors getting stuck at the vent. I want to know how it will play because it looks like it’ll play similarly to dr3 and not DR1’s gameplay. The loss of the Ritolo will likely mean most will want a mod to AI voice him. I’m unsure if they will use other voices since they were very limited on this reveal. I hope the gameplay is solid but I’m not going to preorder and I hope they don’t delist the original. The other hope is that they don’t go out of their way to prevent mods since capcom is really against mods right now.
I doubt the original gets delisted and this looks incredibly promising from the gameplay, it is quite actually DR1 with a fresh coat of paint. In addition to the ramp we've also seen: Durability meters Aiming while moving Built in TimeSkip Autosaves I'm sure we will be seeing more but it's looking promising from my end and having played each game for many many hours
I think this comment is redundant. They haven't changed any of the original animations, I doubt they took away any features in combat just made it a little neater.
@@Ecdycis Until I play it, I'm going with how the animations of frank make him resemble DR3 instead of DR1. I certainly hope DR1 doesn't get delisted but it has happened more often than not when something new comes out and Capcom likes to follow trends instead of sticking to their guns. Hey I'm glad that you are looking forward to it, a lot of fans seems to prefer being too negative and overly critic for no good reason. The og game is still there, you can still buy it (pretty cheap as well), and even some of the "problems" can be changed by mods (someone is definitely putting TJ Rotolo back with a mod). If there is something I agree that I'm not a fan of, it's Larry. I get that they want to sell the game in China as well and having a character like that is not a good look, but like you said, you can still keep him chinese, just make him less offensive design wise. The irony of what happens to Carlito at the end with Larry is too strong to just throw it away like this, imo. And I know some people say that he still is chinese, but I really don't see it, maybe we need more footage of him. Still, I got the game and I can't wait, those stairs before the security room got me so hype when I saw them.
Not looking forward to this remaster at all, its ruining a lot of what made Dead Rising 1 great like its challenging time management system, difficulty and story and is just exposing more shilltubers who are supporting capcom being greedy and going back and censoring and re releasing their old games but with way less content and detail then the original games and asking for triple A prices, Re3 and 4 remake are great examples of that, they both are inferior to the original game and completely censored and cut stuff from the game making them the worst way to experience 3&4 and the same thing is now happening to Dead Rising 1, also to the people who keep saying "the modders will fix it" you are part of the problem and reason why companies like Capcom do stuff like this stop supporting and making excuses for anti consumers behaviour regardless of what company
If it’s not only good but sells incredibly well, we will see a full resurgence of this series, I want to see dr 2 get the same treatment and maybe pull a re4 remake separate ways for the case west where you play as frank instead of chuck, and add case zero to the base game, I think that alone would make it so much more worth it! Wonder how they’ll handle infinity mode in this remake, maybe this time you can save and fast forward instead of waiting tediously for 14 hours
@@Ecdycis yeah while I do see some complaining how it was made too easy, all I’ll say to them is do not act like infinity mode was in anyway enjoyable or properly implemented, it was a shit mode and I hated every second of it even back then, I’ll take anything to make the process faster or easier, or just a better mode entirely over that trash, I may love the game but there are so many elements that I despised
It's incredibly unlikely to come back and it shouldn't be in DR1. Part of the game design was that anything in the game can be used, Combo weapons would heavily limit this.
Asian representation is seriously needed in all forms of media. The caricatured butcher from the original game is not a hill I want to die on lol. And it's not about looks. I have friends who look like Larry the butcher - the butcher however is a bad stereotyped caricature. Also Carlito being done in by a supposedly Caucasian American in the remake is tragically poignant because he was ultimately taking on the American meat industry.
I would hope that they could simply make a less racist looking Chinese character but I've heard from some of the comics that there are tensions with Chinese portrayal in Japan at the moment. Larry was easily one of my original favorite Psychos
@Ecdycis the original is special. I never played anything like and even the sequel with Chuck was very good. But it wasn't the OG. I think as fans of the OG we keep things to dear when it's simply an attachment. I think this ("assume") white, large American butcher represents the Meat industry in the U.S is far more fitting. The consumption, excess and probable cruelty involved in the handling of these animals. That scene with Carlito and Frank in the aftermath of the Bucher fight might actually pull some strings emotionally.
You'd probably also be upset with the additional zombie models and seemingly beta weapons that are in the promo art. Franks whole start was the Anti Leon, it's nice to see the original vision come back stronger.
Overall promising, but I feel like the lighting could use improvement in some scenes. The scene showing Kent seemed oddly dark, but it could've just been the video. The scene showing the new Larry also felt a bit brighter than I feel it should've, the OG game had that area feeling a bit darker and dingier, adding to the feel of being in some underground greasy meat kitchen.
....I like it. I'm excited for it.... I will probably buy and play it. But I will not pre-order. I.....Have learned to not do that. I'm not worried about it.....I just make it a point to never pre-order.
I'm very excited, but Frank's voice change does hurt. He also looks different and much older. I wouldn't say "ugly" lmao, just a middle-aged guy! He looks good! I get what they're going for. It makes sense and it's good, but yeah, it's just so different! I hope they don't try to make the game goofier than it originally was, cause it kinda felt that way initially in the trailer. DR1 is pretty dark, serious and atmospheric too. But I'm sure they'll keep it authentic. After all, the music seems to be the same too. Also, wow it's gonna be voiced in so many languages! That's super cool!
Bar went low when I saw how they changed Larry and Jessica. Also Lifeseeker posted message this week claiming he wasnt contacted at all for this game, even his label production aint aware they will use his song. Same goes for Hostile Groovey as they are also out of the loop. Just hope they keep the combat as it was with its reward by knowing where to look and which items are good, while keeping the bosses like Adam or Cletus challenging.

For the songs they've tweeted on the official account all the original games songs will be returning meaning they probably already had permission to use them without the need of the artists.

I have no problem with Cheryl considering how her "quest" to help you level up wasnt worth doing if you then later got 5k prestige points for defeating military. Also Capcom tweeting they have songs returning is nice, but Im concerned about the fact the composers arent mentioning anything apart from Lifeseeker. I havent heard any statement from groups like Lockjaw.
It doesn't look like they put a ton of effort into it, but it'll probably still be the best way to play the game. This game was one of reasons why I bought a 360 back in the day.
I think it’s cool for people who didn’t play the original or people who don’t take games so seriously. I think there’s a subsection of gamers who either are really against modern changes to games or are just so into dead rising that they aren’t going to like this regardless and honestly they may as well just skip buying it. I think it’s going to be fun and it’s a decent price. I’m expecting it to be nostalgia and not close to perfect and think it will meet that.
Regarding Frank's looks, I certainly don't get why they made him older. Also, he looks a bit more likeable to me in the original version. New Frank seems a bit too generic...visually. I'd say they basically changed him to look more like his DR2:OTR and DR4 appearances...which is a bad idea, IMO.
He looks more like Beta Frank than the others by far. DR4 Frank was TOO good looking. The original intent of Frank has always been Ugly Bastard since he is the Anti Leon Kennedy

I actually think Frank's design is more based on his Marvel Vs Capcom appearance. Also, Larry might still be Asian, just not as visually apparent. I hope so, it made perfect sense for his character.

I'm going to keep my expectations low. And if it is a good game I'll be happy. Jurassic world 3 taught me to NEVER get excited for any movie game or show ever again. Expected an apocalypse where the dinosaurs just showed up and society falling appart. Instead we got killer grass hoppers and the return of dogson. Nobody cares about dogson that was his whole thing!

The concept is nice but the execution was not that great. Tbh if they just add like the ability to save at least then it would actually be great.
Also the fast forward time is for when you really just wanna get to the next case when you really have nothing to do and even then you don’t gotta use it.

One does require a lot of practice but at least you can take breaks and you gotta do it in under 5 hours and 30 AND you can save at least 15 times and when you complete it, you get a cool ass weapon and infinite ammo to top it off while the other requires you to go 14 hours straight of mostly sitting around just to get a pair of cool underwear…..the laser sword is cool but even then you gotta do at least 5 days like you said and that would take 10 hours.

I genuinely think they had to change Larry’s look completely because it had to have been impossible to make a 4K model of Larry based on the original that isn’t horribly offensive and racist. Like I was a bit on the fence about how he looks in the original, orange yellow skin and his eyes don’t even open and missing front teeth is basically an early 2000s offensive Asian stereotype lol it probably wouldn’t have been a smart idea to depict Larry that way today especially with the hate crimes against Asians that happened not too long ago.
However this new Larry look seems really interesting and as someone said in a Reddit thread that he actually looks like someone who works for the willamette mall butcher shop instead of og Larry who looks like he just kinda wandered in and started cutting meat lol
Larry in the original game was a charming character and I like the foil he served to Carlito, I definitely understand the changes. I just hope he is still Chinese and would look more appropriate in the modern age but it is okay if they change him

No TJ, TJ doesn't make or break it, however he made Frank West feel like an average guy. This new VA seems a bit hammy for a "Journalist who is thrown into a terrifying situation and told to survive".

Yeah, the only thing that disappoints me is the new voice, but Frank's new design is growing on me, even though I still think he should have looked younger, this new design looks more like OTR Frank, after he became a depressed alcoholic.

They decided to go with the beta version of Frank from a year before the game released. The game artist said he wanted to go for an ugly, wacky design originally then they scrapped it for a more refined version. I think it fits the vibe of Dead Rising, serious at times, stupid for the majority and cheesy as all hell
Dead rising 1 was much more serious in a lot of ways. Just the way Frank handles psychopaths and how he talks at the ending with Carlito and the soldier dude he feels more like a human than Chuck making those macabre, irreverent puns.
One of the few upcoming games I'm looking forward to with complete confidence. Can't wait to see you play it!

Tbh I'm a little bit worried. I loved DR 1 because Frank was such a cool guy .. the voice and looks in the original fitted him perfectly in my opinion. I usually don't pre-order, but I love this series so much and I want it to continue. I would especially love a deluxe remaster of Dead Rising 2, that would hopefully include the Case Zero and Case West scenarios. And I would love a deluxe remaster of Dead Rising 3 as well, especially since 30 fps games hurt my eyes. And they should do a proper sequel to DR3, that continues the story of Isabela's villain arc.

I just recently finished a run for the saint achievement, due to the survivor ai it was difficult to day the least, but i love dead rising, and the original will always have a soft spot in my heart. I hope the bring back the mega man outfit and real blaster. I can't wait to see what DRDR brings!
The survivors are nicer once you realize they have minor quirks like stopping their movement when you get grabbed and they tend to follow your last order before having new ones

This is driving me insane. Why is nobody noticing that the new camera is too low and way too close to Frank, compared to the original DR? People are noticing all the little details, but they're completely blind to an evident major issue that plagued the series since the "canadian" sequel! Maybe they're doing it to better show off the new graphics, who knows - but in a game that's all about navigating hordes and planning your route, it's a terrible mistake. The primary reason no sequel felt like DR was the camera, it's as simple as that.

@@Ecdycis It felt floaty, yeah, and I also think that improving the survivor AI took away a lot of the tension and fun (they've already confirmed doing it again for this "remake", another thing that worries me). I never thought about this before, but DR mentions cattle experiments in Santa Cabeza, and funnily enough I can see the surivor mechanics of DR1 as a cattle wrangler minigame. There was the occasional frustrating moment, sure, but knowing you've managed to direct dumb animals right to the corral was a very rewarding experience. I wonder if some quality of life improvements really make sense, when they fix something that's supposed to be a challenge in the first place.

1) survivor AI is updated
2) they add multiplayer (not likely but still hopeful)

4) they add dr2 markers and indicators for survivor proximity to transitions

The downside was the VA of Frank West in this deluxe remaster was not the same original VA of Frank West in the original classic DR1, and it looks like they changed the Chinese butcher villain into a white/American butcher in this deluxe remaster. plus the original Frank West DR1 classic look design with just high rendered graphics was just a skin and only available for pre order, the supposed design of Frank West like in the original was not suppose to be a skin but his default looks imo, not this new design with so much high hairline, Frank looks 10 times older in his new look design in this dead rising deluxe remaster.. But still looking forward for some of this game reviews before buying it though. (Not you IGN😝)

I'm excited, admittedly might be a bit of a rose tinted lens situation from DR1 literally being my first game I ever played. One thing I'm kinda surprised you didn't mention is the fact Frank was on the bike in Paradise Plaza. I'm not too into breaking the game or extremely niche features, but I don't recall that being a thing in the original. You think it's a demo thing or do you think we might have a new vehicle spawn or two?

Dead Rising is a Top 5 game for me. Now with the new quality of life improvements ( Like moving while aiming ) this game will easily be an all time favorite. A lot of thing changing but sometimes change is good right? Counting down the days for this game and looking forward to platinum it also.

My expectations are low, like RE3make low. I see performance issues incoming especially with capcom on insisting on using denuvo. The one clear improvement is the ramp to avoid survivors getting stuck at the vent.
I want to know how it will play because it looks like it’ll play similarly to dr3 and not DR1’s gameplay.
The loss of the Ritolo will likely mean most will want a mod to AI voice him. I’m unsure if they will use other voices since they were very limited on this reveal.
I hope the gameplay is solid but I’m not going to preorder and I hope they don’t delist the original. The other hope is that they don’t go out of their way to prevent mods since capcom is really against mods right now.
I doubt the original gets delisted and this looks incredibly promising from the gameplay, it is quite actually DR1 with a fresh coat of paint.

Hey I'm glad that you are looking forward to it, a lot of fans seems to prefer being too negative and overly critic for no good reason. The og game is still there, you can still buy it (pretty cheap as well), and even some of the "problems" can be changed by mods (someone is definitely putting TJ Rotolo back with a mod).
If there is something I agree that I'm not a fan of, it's Larry. I get that they want to sell the game in China as well and having a character like that is not a good look, but like you said, you can still keep him chinese, just make him less offensive design wise. The irony of what happens to Carlito at the end with Larry is too strong to just throw it away like this, imo. And I know some people say that he still is chinese, but I really don't see it, maybe we need more footage of him.

Not looking forward to this remaster at all, its ruining a lot of what made Dead Rising 1 great like its challenging time management system, difficulty and story and is just exposing more shilltubers who are supporting capcom being greedy and going back and censoring and re releasing their old games but with way less content and detail then the original games and asking for triple A prices, Re3 and 4 remake are great examples of that, they both are inferior to the original game and completely censored and cut stuff from the game making them the worst way to experience 3&4 and the same thing is now happening to Dead Rising 1, also to the people who keep saying "the modders will fix it" you are part of the problem and reason why companies like Capcom do stuff like this stop supporting and making excuses for anti consumers behaviour regardless of what company
How is it ruining the time management and story, out of sheer curiosity? And changing the voice actors doesn't count as ruining the story.
If it’s not only good but sells incredibly well, we will see a full resurgence of this series, I want to see dr 2 get the same treatment and maybe pull a re4 remake separate ways for the case west where you play as frank instead of chuck, and add case zero to the base game, I think that alone would make it so much more worth it!

It's incredibly unlikely to come back and it shouldn't be in DR1. Part of the game design was that anything in the game can be used, Combo weapons would heavily limit this.
They are intentionally respecting the original gameplay while cleaning up the issues. Basically a rerelease of dead rising 1 for modern gen.
Combo weapons ruined the series tbh. Took away from the core and became the new core mechanic.
Asian representation is seriously needed in all forms of media. The caricatured butcher from the original game is not a hill I want to die on lol. And it's not about looks. I have friends who look like Larry the butcher - the butcher however is a bad stereotyped caricature. Also Carlito being done in by a supposedly Caucasian American in the remake is tragically poignant because he was ultimately taking on the American meat industry.
I would hope that they could simply make a less racist looking Chinese character but I've heard from some of the comics that there are tensions with Chinese portrayal in Japan at the moment.

@Ecdycis the original is special. I never played anything like and even the sequel with Chuck was very good. But it wasn't the OG. I think as fans of the OG we keep things to dear when it's simply an attachment. I think this ("assume") white, large American butcher represents the Meat industry in the U.S is far more fitting. The consumption, excess and probable cruelty involved in the handling of these animals. That scene with Carlito and Frank in the aftermath of the Bucher fight might actually pull some strings emotionally.

Overall promising, but I feel like the lighting could use improvement in some scenes.
The scene showing Kent seemed oddly dark, but it could've just been the video.
The scene showing the new Larry also felt a bit brighter than I feel it should've, the OG game had that area feeling a bit darker and dingier, adding to the feel of being in some underground greasy meat kitchen.
It definitely does seem dark but later shots of the dynamic lighting seem quite good in Wonderland

I hope they don't try to make the game goofier than it originally was, cause it kinda felt that way initially in the trailer. DR1 is pretty dark, serious and atmospheric too. But I'm sure they'll keep it authentic. After all, the music seems to be the same too.

Just hope they keep the combat as it was with its reward by knowing where to look and which items are good, while keeping the bosses like Adam or Cletus challenging.

I think it’s cool for people who didn’t play the original or people who don’t take games so seriously. I think there’s a subsection of gamers who either are really against modern changes to games or are just so into dead rising that they aren’t going to like this regardless and honestly they may as well just skip buying it. I think it’s going to be fun and it’s a decent price. I’m expecting it to be nostalgia and not close to perfect and think it will meet that.

Regarding Frank's looks, I certainly don't get why they made him older. Also, he looks a bit more likeable to me in the original version. New Frank seems a bit too generic...visually.
I'd say they basically changed him to look more like his DR2:OTR and DR4 appearances...which is a bad idea, IMO.
He looks more like Beta Frank than the others by far. DR4 Frank was TOO good looking.

Hm...my concern wouldn't be his handsomeness, though. I don't even think that remaster-Frank looks ugly. It would just be nice if his face actually resembled DR1-Frank's. Which isn't the case.

I actually think Frank's design is more based on his Marvel Vs Capcom appearance. Also, Larry might still be Asian, just not as visually apparent. I hope so, it made perfect sense for his character.

Honestly it's tough to say, especially since BikeZip requires the use of loading the area. If it's seamless loading it might not work.
As long as they kept the mini chainsaws being OP I'll be ok.

I'm going to keep my expectations low. And if it is a good game I'll be happy. Jurassic world 3 taught me to NEVER get excited for any movie game or show ever again. Expected an apocalypse where the dinosaurs just showed up and society falling appart. Instead we got killer grass hoppers and the return of dogson. Nobody cares about dogson that was his whole thing!
