The Spruance class destroyer I was on, the cooks took very little pride in the gruel they turned out. Bacon and sausage swimming in enough grease to do an oil change in a diesel engine. The eggs such as they were, were nasty. Greasy pork chops. Mashed potatoes with the consistency of concrete. Good times.

The only flaw being the 5 inch guns ejection of the empty shell casings actually damages the decks to the point rubber crash mats have to be put down to try and mitigate the issue. Does that instill belief in the ships defensive capabilities in the crew, that an empty 5 inch brass shell case can chew up the deck? Jesus what would an enemy missile or live shell do?
