It's true what he says about making the crowd feel comfortable, he's really cool about people getting onstage etc. I saw him in Brighton and he stopped playing to tell a bouncer to fuck off because he kept aggressively shoving this one kid off stage.

i love how whenever there's Mac documentary Kiki doesn't get much playtime. like even though they're really close together but that portrayal make their relationship really secret and normal not like any celebrity relationship Yoko-lennon attention style.

I'm so glad this guy has made it, he really deserves it, such a down to earth genuine person, I've always wanted to meet him in person, Ive been lucky enough to see mac twice live with my music producer friend, the second time at the show in "elephant and castle" we had to break up a fight, a guy who was too drunk or on drugs or whatever kept moshing when no one else was, he kept bumping into everyone around him eventually annoying the wrong group of guys, they kept shouting at each other things like "come on then", eventually a stand off occurred. The group of girls standing behind the whole scene decided to leave because of it, it was very close to the end of the show anyway, the part in Mac's shows where they all swap instruments and do random covers. My friend and I had to jump in-between them and push them apart trying to calm the situation. We ended up staying in that spot having to keep deescalating the situation, they kept turning round and shouting at each other and staring. The bass player even noticed and in-between songs said "I don't know what has just happened over here" gesturing to our part of the audience. Some people really know how to ruin it for everyone. I wanna throw my friend some love as he's always been a keeper of the peace and we've been through a lot together. He's heavily influenced by Mac Demarco. He has just released a new tune, try searching Lonely Gimmick - Blue ticked Influencer ,you may be in for a surprise and he would love to hear your opinion

Joe King I’ve recently got into Mac and love his vibe and overall approach. But first of all the untalented still greatly outweigh the talented sadly, and let’s just chill with comparing him to Paul McCartney. Do you really comprehend the sheer talent and magnitude of Paul McCartney? That guy literally dreams up timeless classics like it’s nothing. I mean Mac writes great tunes but there’s just no comparing him to one of the greatest game changers in music history.
@@miserableunoriginal look at it this way, had Paul McCartney written e.g. "Let Her Go" we'd all be praising him again and saying "he's still got it!" people put these classic artists on pedestals when really all they did was write great songs in a different era. FYI if Mac is the new McCartney then Avey Tare is the new John.
Joe King I don’t think you fully grasp how the Beatles completely changed the landscape of music as a whole. I love Mac but the dudes not pumping out legit timeless classics. Lennon/McCartney literally set the bar for basically every band that’s followed them since. They revolutionized the way rock and roll and pop music was written/recorded/and consumed. I’m not trying to hate on Mac whatsoever, i just don’t think you truly understand the musical and cultural effect the Beatles had on the entire world. They essentially laid the ground work for what rock and roll is today. And to circle it back to just Paul, I mean the guy wrote “Let it Be”, “Hey Jude”, “blackbird”, “Eleanore Rigby”, and dreamt up “yesterday” (which happens to be the most covered song in the history of recorded music).
