But it's that seeing someone's head being blown off is no longer shocking. It may slowly wear down empathy and sensitivity to certain things. Overall violence in media does not directly make people decide to make unthinkable decisions but personally I wouldn't be opposed to less graphic violence.

Maybe you are right about crazy people being on the edge, and playing violent games pushing them over the edge. Before that Abuse was probably the most visually visceral game I'd played but they were aliens. When you start exploding men's brains in car doors you notice the thrill of bloodlust and find it good. After a while I got so bored of FPS games and now violence literally makes more bored af. I lived through the 80's and Die Hard and Beverly Hills Cop 2. Violence is a drug the west is hooked on like Japan isn't as a matter of fact.

I'm hoping to add to the topic you brought up about frustration and why video games may help alleviate some of it. Say you are a 16 year old kid and you had a rough day at school. You got bullied or got a bad grade. Relieving stress or frustration through say, fortnite is an acceptable coping mechanism. A more appropriate response would be to journal or talk to someone about it, whether a parent, counselor/therapist, or even a friend. But it's normal to want to escape the world in a video game. What should not be happening is craving to shoot people, or see parts of their brain on a metal pipe. There is a distinction between playing the game like advanced lazer tag and being that one kid who uses Mele attacks in lazer tag. I am open to discussing this. I myself play video games, but am also aware of the addictive properties of it, as well as the desensitization to violence etc. Video Games create.

Unless you watch the last 3 minutes, the video is mainly focusing on “video games are affecting the children’s minds” then at the last minute saying video games aren’t causing violence but still causing something, still implying the possibility of violence. Going as far as delegitimizing gamers also by saying “people want to hear what they want to hear”. 8-9/10 people in the video are saying there’s relation with video games and violence, and the rest barely being able to say something about no correlation. Even if the video is aimed to “video games don’t cause violence” the message could be horribly be interpreted as the opposite. Maybe the guy who made the video was instructed to make this video flip flop the hell out of it to make it a bit more watchable without looking it bias to oblivion.

I know as a kid I watched every R rated movie, & played Mortal Kombat along with every other violent video game or cartoon where to a minor degree it did effect my boyish youthful behavior where lighter aggressive violent activity was pursued then I found out the negative consequences of that conduct which all kids have to learn. I have played “Deer Hunter” on my iPhone a lot. In the game, you shoot all different kinds of animals from prairie dogs to elk, bears, jaguars, lions, rabbits, meerkats, nilgais, cassowaries, kangaroos, crocodiles, ostriches, zebras, deer (of course), coyotes, wolves, dingoes and others. You use pistols, rifles, AR’s, shotguns, bows and arrows. In real life, I am a vegan animal activist.

But it's that seeing someone's head being blown off is no longer shocking. It may slowly wear down empathy and sensitivity to certain things. Overall violence in media does not directly make people decide to make unthinkable decisions but personally I wouldn't be opposed to less graphic violence.

Because they are just like experiments with dissolving a metal spoon in a glass of coca-cola to establish that coca-cola is extremely acidic and therefore horrible/dangerous to people.

Maybe you are right about crazy people being on the edge, and playing violent games pushing them over the edge. Before that Abuse was probably the most visually visceral game I'd played but they were aliens. When you start exploding men's brains in car doors you notice the thrill of bloodlust and find it good. I'm hoping to add to the topic you brought up about frustration and why video games may help alleviate some of it.
Say you are a 16 year old kid and you had a rough day at school. You got bullied or got a bad grade. Relieving stress or frustration through say, fortnite is an acceptable coping mechanism. A more appropriate response would be to journal or talk to someone about it, whether a parent, counselor/therapist, or even a friend. But it's normal to want to escape the world in a video game.
What should not be happening is craving to shoot people, or see parts of their brain on a metal pipe. There is a distinction between playing the game like advanced lazer tag and being that one kid who uses Mele attacks in lazer tag.
I am open to discussing this. I myself play video games, but am also aware of the addictive properties of it, as well as the desensitization to violence etc. Video Games create.

All this video is doing is giving a thorough look at the debate over video games and violence. They never make the claim that games cause violence or that we should ban them. The most they ever do is cite multiple studies that show that games make aggressive behavior more likely, but not violence. They even took extra care to note how these studies have been misinterpreted and used by the media to scapegoat other causes. They also pointed out that these studies have their critics and that there’s a lot of room for error on them.
I understand that for decades games and gamers have been demonized by a lot of groups that don’t know much about the medium. However, that doesn’t mean that everyone who chimes in on this subject is out to attack video games. When we look closely into that person’s life there is so many risk factors involved like bad lifestyle patterns, unemployment, housing issues, financial issues, and mental health etc. a single factor doesn’t make someone a violent person. That’s pretty stupid.. parent who abuse their child either physically or mentally probably have higher risk factor then of video games. Parent shouldn’t worry about video games, they should reflect on themselves first. USA should work on gun control then video game regulations... so dumb

I have played “Deer Hunter” on my iPhone a lot. In the game, you shoot all different kinds of animals from prairie dogs to elk, bears, jaguars, lions, rabbits, meerkats, nilgais, cassowaries, kangaroos, crocodiles, ostriches, zebras, deer (of course), coyotes, wolves, dingoes and others. You use pistols, rifles, AR’s, shotguns, bows and arrows. In real life, I am a vegan animal activist.

So, allow me to say it as it is. This is NOT a video game problem, this is also NOT a weapons trade issue (gun laws and etc.) this is a rather, a problem with the increasing population of people with mental instability and undermined mental illnesses for the medias benefit. These people had issues before video games were involved, What we need to do is know how to know identify these issues in people and do our best to aid in giving stabilizing these people.
TL;DR: Just because a few people are affected negatively with consistent variables like mental illness, doesn't mean we gotta ruin it for everyone.

No they do not. That's like saying does Hollywood cause violence? Millions play FPS/GTA everyday. I have yet to hear something when out there and commit a violent crime because of a video game. Anyone who commits a crime, was already crazy before playing video game.
People who commit crimes and violence out in the streets probably can't afford to stay at home and play online video games.

It's easier to get when the world on the game is clearly fictional (those with magic, zombies, etc.). But i get soo confused when the game gets soo close to real life (I've heard about games where you can play as a terrorist in situations closely resembling contemporary events)
Because you get to experience things without it being real life, its not that the violence is fun its the grind to get different weapons and stuff in games
