Exactly, they blame the games and not the parents.
Edit: most of the times the parents don't even care, but when the kid acts out once they blame video games.

Whatever "results" that we "gather" in the ongoing "study" of violent video games vs "real life" aggression..
Please keep in mind.. we are still animals.. primates even..
I'd imagine that some of our ancestors chose to bang coconuts on their heads until they went looney tunes, far before video games were ever conceived of. Why blame our whole species for the ignorance of sadism and masochism?

My link was to demonstrate that violent games don't lead you necessarely to murder, but affect clearly the behaviour of people, and negatively. So it has an effect, which is logic, because what we are focus on, affect us on the long term.
The link was, so, to demonstrate that the 2 side are right. And the truth is in the middle. It has an effect, and negative, but don't make you a murderer.

Violent video games do not inherently make you violent and same with Violence seen on screens. But it's that seeing someone's head being blown off is no longer shocking. It may slowly wear down empathy and sensitivity to certain things. Overall violence in media does not directly make people decide to make unthinkable decisions but personally I wouldn't be opposed to less graphic violence.

*yi mo:* it's not that you will want to do something bad just because of videogames but people get inspired by the entertainment industry whatever movie, game or book when committing a crime or may consider committing crime as another option because you operate with limitations of your own knowledge during single person problem-solving and your knowledge is also limiting factor during searching for a solution you not yet found. Whatever you get inspired by the environment like nature when creating new technology or inspired by fiction when committing or considering committing a crime, every bit of knowledge you ever gather is potentially usable in a crime or can lead you to choose to commit a crime over legal options. You don't teach lockpicking to kids for a reason, that has been said well-parented mentally stable teenager unlikely commit violence because of playing an adult only video game but still can be inspired by that game when considering committing a crime, in case of mentally unstable, everything is possible, but generally wrong "friends" have much more power to take young people in the wrong direction than some work of fiction especially as most of the caught criminals are not especially well-educated while even criminal arcade videogames for adults like GTA or Hitman can show you how things can get wrong rather quickly for you if you try to commit crime and things did not go as planned...
In ideal world, parents should be deciding what game at which age is harmless to their kids mental development based on unique pace each kid is evolving mentally, but we don't live in the ideal world and many parents are itself kids incapable to take care for themselves and even less capable take care of their kids which requires also having the ability to properly assess their mental state, so that's why you legally should play GTA or Hitman only as an adult even when most of the teenagers can handle it as well without any issues or harm to their future...
As for correlation between video games and aggression, some players get addicted to videogames putting playing video games above anything else, and this similarly to other addictions causes health issues if addiction is sustained long enough but also points of conflict mostly when people close to addicted try to put such persons away from the source of addiction or addicted become more aggressive as an consequence of stress from mounting issues due to their declining social and working/study performance...

Studies that linked Gaming to Aggression are at the very least incompetent, or worse -- purposefully deceptive.
Because they are just like experiments with dissolving a metal spoon in a glass of coca-cola to establish that coca-cola is extremely acidic and therefore horrible/dangerous to people.
It is missing the most crucial part => *_Perspective_* => if you were to mention that the very same spoon in the very same glass is dissolving in orange juice even faster and that ultimately our stomach doesn't care that much about acidity cause it is an acidic place itself => suddenly the entire experiment/study is exposed for what it is -- garbage.
Coming back to studies where they link Gaming to Aggression. Kids pick up things and smash them around more aggressively after they played violent video games. You know what you have to do next? Take a look at how much aggression kids show after playing football for example, or after watching a violent movie and then *_Compare_* the results! I'll spoil your suspense by revealing that games don't really outperform movies and lag miles behind active physical sports activities.

But, if you are not stable mentaly, a game can help you to do some murder. If you are already crazy in your head. So it don't CREATE murderers, but it help murderers to commit easily some crime. That's a fact and that's logic.
So it don't creat murderers, but help those who are already crazy to commit crimes. And influence normal people to be more aggressive, but not murderers. So violent games are not good for people.

      @TheAlexN1305 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

@@nop4064 Violent games are not good for people. But neither are violent movies, music, active sports, etc. Getting told they are having a launch break after you stood in a bank queue for an hour is even more conducive to making a person violent and so are many other things in life. Drinking water is not good for people either, all the people who did drink water died in the end. The question shouldn't be if violent games are good or bad for people, but how much of a bad influence they have relative to other things people do?
Maybe you are right about crazy people being on the edge, and playing violent games pushing them over the edge. But you have to at least consider that without video games they would have listened to some aggressive screaming music, watched some crazy violent videos, or did any other activity in life that is emotionally stimulating and/or destabilizing and would have gone over the edge that way.
At some point, you will realize that fixing a billion things that have an effect on people's emotions is just not the right approach. We have to treat the underlining problem instead of addressing the symptoms -- get some mental health help for crazy people instead of going from industry to industry and making everything they produce fluffy and childproof.

If people can’t get out their frustrations in a virtual world, they’re going to be more likely to do it in real life. If anything, video games subdue people and make them more complacent. People who go out and commit mass shootings aren’t the same lazy people sitting on the couch playing Fortnite. They’re the people who fear for their life or feel backed into a corner because they’re bullied at school, abused at home, or overbearing societal pressures

    • @canadiansplootdoggo9333
      @canadiansplootdoggo9333 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I'm hoping to add to the topic you brought up about frustration and why video games may help alleviate some of it.
Say you are a 16 year old kid and you had a rough day at school. You got bullied or got a bad grade. Relieving stress or frustration through say, fortnite is an acceptable coping mechanism. A more appropriate response would be to journal or talk to someone about it, whether a parent, counselor/therapist, or even a friend. But it's normal to want to escape the world in a video game.
What should not be happening is craving to shoot people, or see parts of their brain on a metal pipe. There is a distinction between playing the game like advanced lazer tag and being that one kid who uses Mele attacks in lazer tag.
I am open to discussing this. I myself play video games, but am also aware of the addictive properties of it, as well as the desensitization to violence etc. Video Games create.

The Stuart family is a very large royal criminal bloodline with current noble titles of peerage in Ireland, Scotland, Nova Scotia, and England. They are the essence of evil and self righteousness. One Scottish family branch currently holds the title of Marquess of Bute and own a large palace called Mount Stuart House. They ruled as the monarchs of Scotland and England for a period of time and intermarried with the Bourbon, Hanover, and Wittlesbach royal families as well as the English royals. They are also married with the Goldsmith, Guggenheim, and Guinness banking families. The Stuart family branched off from the Bruce Clan of Scotland. Andrew Bruce 11th Earl of Elgin is the head of the House of Bruce and a former Grand Master Mason for Scotland. Andrew Bruce is really evil and is one of the highest level Freemason in Scotland. Many Scottish Peers are high level Freemasons and use their authority and command over the masonic brotherhood to create a defense for the House of Windsor and other high level royalty. Freemasons in the United States infiltrate government, politics, law, and business and serve the grand lodges of England, Scotland, and Ireland. The name Stewart derives from Steward which refers to deputy or second in command. They were originally deputies of the fraudulent House of Normandy and later became loyal to the Bavarian House of Wittelsbach through Jacobitism while currently pretending to be loyal to the House of Windsor. Duke Franz of Bavaria is the heir to the Stuart Crown and who the Stuarts really serve. The Irish Stuarts hold the title of Earl Castle Stewart with Arthur Patrick Avondale Stuart the 8th Earl Castle Stewart and his son Viscount Andrew Richard Charles Stuart as the heads of this family branch. Arthur Stuart 8th Earl Castle Stewart is the son of Eleanor May Guggenheim of the very wealthy Guggenheim family which are also married with the wealthy Rothschild family. Arthur Stuart and Princess Sibilla of Luxembourg are members of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection Advisory Board. Arthur Stuart's cousin Peter Lawson-Johnston is a high level member of the Guggenheim family. The Stuarts manage many Jewish billionaires including the Rothschilds, Goldsmiths, and Guggenheims which covertly work with the Walton family. The 2018 Guggenheim International Gala honored the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation and Alice Walton the sister of Jim Walton. Jim Walton who is worth over 40 billion named his son Steuart Walton after the House of Stuart.
Arthur Stuart's grandparents were Solomon Guggenheim and Irene Rothschild and Arthur worked as the Vice President of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and ran its Venice Collection. The Guggenheim family originated in Venice. Guggenheim Partners is a large global investment firm controlling assets estimated at 270 billion and Guggenheim Funds Investment Advisors located in Chicago is another major firm controlling tens of billions and owned by the Guggenheim family. Guggenheim Investment manages over 200 billion in assets. The billionaire Mark Walter is the CEO of Guggenheim Partners and Alan Schwartz is Executive Chairman of Guggenheim Partners. The Guggenheim family are keeping many members of their family hidden. The Stuart family have also intermarried with the Montagu banking family that were appointed as peers by the Roman Catholic King Edward IV of England. The Stuart or Stewart families have various noble branches and still own several estates and palaces today. The Stuart family are also merchants and involved in business at the City of London Corporation. The Stuart clan have a large portion of ownership over the Hudson's Bay Company through Prince Rupert of the Rhine whose mother was a Stuart. The Stuart family created Hudson's Bay Company. Prince Rupert was the first Governor of the Stuart King Charles II's issued the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) and their relative Donald Smith the 1st Baron Strathcona and Mount Royal was a top executive of HBC and he later obtained large shares in it when the company went private. The Stuart King James VI issued the royal charter for Nova Scotia. Much of Canada and Nova Scotia are Stuart territory of oversight and business. The Stuart family are large share holders of the Hudson's Bay Company which has nearly 8 billion in assets. Clay Riddell was a Canadian billionaire who died in 2018 and he was from Manitoba which was land owned by the Stuart's Hudson's Bay Company until 1869. Gerry Schwartz is a Canadian billionaire that was educated from the University of Manitoba and he is an agent of the House of Stuart.
Andrew Bertie the recent and former Grandmaster of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta was a Stuart through his mother Lady Jean Crichton-Stuart. The Stuarts established a branch in Rome with Kim Rossi-Stuart as a current member who is married to the actress Ilaria Spada. Andrew Bertie ran the SMOM for 20 years. The Stuart family is directly involved with the Sovereign Military Order of Malta which is a masonic organization. The Stuarts also produced 6 Grand Masters of the Grand Lodge of Scotland and are top overseers of the Grand Lodge of Scotland today. John Crichton-Stuart the 3rd Marquess of Bute was both a knight of the Vatican and British Crown. The Stuart family is a largest peerage bloodline in the United Kingdom and Ireland with dozens of members. John Crichton-Stuart the 7th Marquess of Bute is the head of an English Stuart Peerage and is a wealthy multi millionaire although the family likely has more wealth than what is officially recognized. His son is John Bryson Crichton-Stuart. I believe John Colum Crichton-Stuart is the hidden head of the Order of Saint John and he is a top military commander over secret societies and I believe this because the Stuarts ran the Grand Lodge of Scotland and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Anthony Crichton-Stuart and Ninian Crichton-Stuart are also members of this branch. Anthony Crichton-Stuart is a pedophile that lives in New York. The Crichton-Stuart branch are English Roman Catholic and appear to be the real head of the Stuart bloodline along with the Earl Castle Stewart family and working for both the British Crown and Holy See. Andrew Clyde Stewart is a member of the Earls of Galloway. There is John Kenneth Alexander Stewart the Baronet of Strathgarry. John Simon Watson Stewart and his son Hamish Watson Stewart are the Baronets of Balgownie, Scotland. Hugh Nicholas Stewart and his son Kieran Andrew Liam Stewart are the Baronets of Athenree, Ireland. Ludovic Houston Shaw Stewart is the 12th Baronet of Greenock and Blackhall. The actor Patrick Stewart and the singer Rod Stewart are Knights of the British Empire and a relatives of the House of Stewart.
Alan d'Arcy Stewart, Nicholas Courtney d'Arcy Stewart, and Lindsay Stephen d'Arcy Stewart are the Baronets of Ramelton in Ireland. Frederick Aubrey Vane-Tempest-Stewart and his brother Reginald Alexander Vane-Tempest-Stewart are British members of this clan and are the Irish Marquesses of Londonderry. The Stewart Marquess of Londonderry's motto is "the dragon’s crest is to be feared." The Stuart family are mostly Roman Catholic and this is why they are deeply connected with the Order of Malta and currently loyal to the Roman Catholic House of Wittelsbach which claim the royal titles of the House of Stuart. The Clan Maclachlan of Scotland are Jacobites with Chief Euan John Maclachlan the Baron of Strathlachlan as the current head. The Clan Lockhart are Scottish nobles and loyal to the Stuarts and Wittelsbachs. The Clan Lumsden are Jacobites headed up by Chief Gillem Lumsden. The Clan MacDonald or Donald are Jacobites headed up by Chief Godfrey Macdonald. Princess Mary of Denmark's parents are Scottish and from this clan with her birth name Donaldson. The Clan Mackenzie are Jacobites headed up by John Mackenzie the 5th Earl of Cromartie. The 1871 District of Columbia Organic Act created Washington DC as a municipal corporate state and the headquarters of the United States based on debts owed to foreign entities like the Hudson's Bay Company, Kingdom of Belgium, and Irish Government and this is stated in its preface. The Stuart family have siphoned off at least tens of billions from Americans through fraudulent tax contracts with the United States and its debt contracts with the HBC and its subsidiary the Puget Sound Agricultural Company through the British Crown and Irish government. David Stuart was a Virginian politician and relative of the Scottish Peers that helped to turn the Virginia Company into the United States with the Freemason and fraud George Washington. This is why most of Ireland is separate from the United Kingdom. The Holy See has owned Ireland since the Norman invasion issued by their English Pope Adrian IV or Nicholas Breakspear through the Papal Bull called Laudabiliter. The Stuart family were part of the Norman invasion and are the top managers of Ireland and through the Roman Catholic Wittelsbachs are in service to the Black Nobility which own the Holy See. Through the Irish Government and Hudson's Bay Company's fraudulent tax contracts they are stealing wealth from the American people through the United States.

Unless you watch the last 3 minutes, the video is mainly focusing on “video games are affecting the children’s minds” then at the last minute saying video games aren’t causing violence but still causing something, still implying the possibility of violence. Going as far as delegitimizing gamers also by saying “people want to hear what they want to hear”.
8-9/10 people in the video are saying there’s relation with video games and violence, and the rest barely being able to say something about no correlation. Even if the video is aimed to “video games don’t cause violence” the message could be horribly be interpreted as the opposite. Maybe the guy who made the video was instructed to make this video flip flop the hell out of it to make it a bit more watchable without looking it bias to oblivion.

So for a majority of ya’ll that are writing in the comments; I urge you to practice some patience and watch the entire video. I think a lot of you might change your tune after that because CNBC here is actually agreeing with you that video games don’t cause violence. Literally, the last line of the video is:“But there is not research that playing a violent video game makes them a school shooter”
All this video is doing is giving a thorough look at the debate over video games and violence. They never make the claim that games cause violence or that we should ban them. The most they ever do is cite multiple studies that show that games make aggressive behavior more likely, but not violence. They even took extra care to note how these studies have been misinterpreted and used by the media to scapegoat other causes. They also pointed out that these studies have their critics and that there’s a lot of room for error on them.
I understand that for decades games and gamers have been demonized by a lot of groups that don’t know much about the medium. However, that doesn’t mean that everyone who chimes in on this subject is out to attack video games. Maybe if we want to show that we’re not actually violent and toxic we shouldn’t get so aggressive/dismissive and raise our pitchforks the second we THINK we’re about to hear something we don’t like.

It’s pretty dumb to say that video games cause violence. Politicians may say that to get votes from parents (like that stupid shut down policy in South Korea). just because there is an incident of someone who is extremely violent played a violent game... that doesn’t mean games equates to violence. When we look closely into that person’s life there is so many risk factors involved like bad lifestyle patterns, unemployment, housing issues, financial issues, and mental health etc. a single factor doesn’t make someone a violent person. That’s pretty stupid.. parent who abuse their child either physically or mentally probably have higher risk factor then of video games. Parent shouldn’t worry about video games, they should reflect on themselves first. USA should work on gun control then video game regulations... so dumb

This is NOT a video game problem, this is also NOT a weapons trade issue (gun laws and etc.) this is a rather, a problem with the increasing population of people with mental instability and undermined mental illnesses for the medias benefit. These people had issues before video games were involved, What we need to do is know how to know identify these issues in people and do our best to aid in giving stabilizing these people.
TL;DR: Just because a few people are affected negatively with consistent variables like mental illness, doesn't mean we gotta ruin it for everyone.

Non-American here, I don’t understand why politicians blame video games for violence. Why don’t the politicians ban guns?

You do not understand how American politics work, Guns are a very controversial topic here and banning them could cause a literal uprising,

Well, USA and other 1st world nations economy is rising and their working population is low..
They need some other sources of income , so they increase taxes, import duties..
gun sales and legalising drugs for recreation also generate revenue..

No they do not. That's like saying does Hollywood cause violence? Millions play FPS/GTA everyday. I have yet to hear something when out there and commit a violent crime because of a video game. Anyone who commits a crime, was already crazy before playing video game.

People who commit crimes and violence out in the streets probably can't afford to stay at home and play online video games.

I'm a teenager too. Can someone please explain to me why people would like to play violent games? I just don't understand.
It's easier to get when the world on the game is clearly fictional (those with magic, zombies, etc.). But i get soo confused when the game gets soo close to real life (I've heard about games where you can play as a terrorist in situations closely resembling contemporary events)

Because you get to experience things without it being real life, its not that the violence is fun its the grind to get different weapons and stuff in games

@@asdawasda oh, that makes sense. I want to know tho, how do u keep that separation between what's fictional (game) , and what's irl. I'm raised by parents who are against gaming, so I really want to understand what's going on inside a gamer's mind. I hope I don't come across as rude or something ❤️

Neil Espinosa honestly when playing a game it never really feels real life it just feels like a simulation

Some games wouldn't be the same genre without violence: fighting games, shooters, and more.

I don't believe video games lead to criminal acts or violence. Because if that was true a lot of youth will be in county jails. Everyone wants make stupid excuses and blame video games

Just because I shoot a gun in a video game doesn’t mean that I want to shoot a gun in real life
