Mina made a very important point that is often overlooked: manipulating the other team's decision-making at the end of games. I've seen many times when a team plays for a tie and overtime instead of going for the win. It's mind-boggling how coaches get hypnotized into playing it safe for that game-tying field goal, regardless of the time left on the clock to go for the win. They end up coaching not to lose. That's why the Eagles needed to run the ball on all 4 downs. Even if they came up empty, if the Falcons got into field goal range, something funky could happen like having it missed or blocked allowing the Eagles to win. In the worst-case scenario, the Falcons tie the game, and the Eagles get another chance to Win it.
Thank God they talked about the most obvious facet of the Eagles vs. Falcons. You just run it on 3rd down there, especially since they ran the ball all the way down the damn field. Hats off to the Falcons though, and Kirk especially. They had to get the TD and they did.
@@Chilldude_101 Yes, Saquon dropped the passed. If you run the ball, he doesn't drop the pass, you run more clock, and then can pass on 4th down if not just push America's Ass for a yard. He absolutely should've executed, but if anyone on that pass play doesn't and it's incomplete, you've stopped the clock.
@@SevTST and its that youre putting your running back in a situation where he has to catch a pass in the most stressful situation possible instead of just letting him do what hes the best at when he was consistently winning on the ground. and 40 seconds in a 2 minute drill is huge. 1 minute is so much more pressure than 1:40
Glad you mentioned Jalen bailing out on clean pockets. I was surprised at how much he did it. I'm not an Eagles fan but it was maddening. Almost like his internal clock alarmed that the rush was gonna get him within 2-3 seconds...Eagles offense had the look of regression in the 1st half especially.
Nice work on family feud, Mina! Domonique, I look forward to checking out American Sports Story. As usual, excellent football analysis! As an older guy, I especially appreciated comments on old man Carr. Not a NoLa fan but enjoy seeing an older player finding his groove again. Thanks!
I swear I've seen Saquon drop a nearly-identical TD pass (in a nearly-identical scenario). • It was late 2023 (≈ Week 16-18); • he was on the Giants; • Tyrod Taylor was the QB; • he was wide open in/near the endzone; and • the team would've won had he caught it. Saquon's a top-notch RB talent, but I don't trust him.
They are way underselling how Derek Carr has played throughout his career whenever he has had good play makers on the outside. And any type of run game support. He would’ve won an MVP in 2016 if his leg didn’t explode at the end of the season. He’s a very solid QB, capable of going off for periods of time.
Last night gave me Super Bowl 57 PTSD…. from the second they ran the dumbest call they could run, everything started going in slow-motion. From a wide open pass being dropped for literally no reason. To Kirk cousins being escorted down the field in 30 yard chunks with ZERO difficulty. I still do not understand how or what the justification was to not pressure Kirk but somehow also leave people so wide open they could get 20+ yards and step out of bounds untouched. Total collapse and simply an inexcusable display of coaching. Sirianni doesn’t seem to have any responsibility outside of making idiotic decisions
Bryce Young to a team with an older QB that he can develop behind, might be a good fit. Seahawks, Rams, or maybe even the Giants a good fit? Especially the Seahawks because they're probably too good to get a high draft pick in the near term for a future QB?
Good thing I was already in the hospital preparing for a surgical producure Tuesday morning (nothing serious. Routine maintenance) become I wanted to put my fist through the TV with my favorite team the Eagles messing up the last 3 minutes of the game. New coordinators. Pass on 3rd down to stop the clock and Vic Fangio producing 0 pressure in 2 weeks with an immobile QB. Could be 1-3 by their Week 5 bye.😢
Grub has to get up to speed quick, Huskies mode, I'm thinking Metcalf finally had had enough and let his quarterback know about it at point blank, was good to see the offence come alive, now we just need #48 to stop circling the pile and tackle someone, isn't that why he's on the defense side of the snap.
My team, niners, have run that pass play on the goal lines many many times. It was the right play based on the defense. It was wide open, just a fluke drop. Stuff happens. This is a manufactured controversy for click bait.

How are we sure that Bryce Young's failure isn't confirmation bias regarding his height when Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold both had as many INTS as TDS in their tenure on the Panthers and that was WITH DJ Moore and a lot more experience under their belt? And look at them now since they left Carolina. Now if Andy Dalton lights it up the rest of the year that's a different story. But if/when he doesn't it's time to pause on ppl making Bryce physical attributes the reason why he failed. Because there is an alternate universe where Panthers draft CJ STroud and then ppl are ignorantly making the take that he's yet another example of why you dont draft Ohio State QBs because even he with superior physical talents can't overcome that joke of a supporting cast
I love how if they don’t drop that easy pass the narrative is that cousins is washed and Atlanta is in trouble. Get a grip ya’ll, ESPN is in trouble with analysis like this
Don't mention my Saints at all, WE DON'T WANT YOUR FAKE LOVE. KEEP LOVING ON TEAMS THAT'S NOT US!!!! Both of you; matter fact ALL OF YALL NFL COMMENTATORS THAT DOUBT US!!!! Keep our names out of your mouths...like you did the majority last season until now (with the exception of our last game, last season)!!!! *Remember Kirk Cousins, Winning The NFC South soon as he signed with Falcons!!!!*
Its like you can't win with these analysts, if Barkley would've caught the ball and the eagles would've won there would be no discussion of coaching it would be a discussion of cousins can't get it done.
Hey Mina , I wanted to get your reaction to the Bills-Dolphins game. 11-1 in the last 12 games Mina. I love your work, but please, s little respect. LOL.
That's the biggest mystery on the internet right now. • Some people think that Mina's holding him *hostage* ; • Others think that he's on a 2024 contractual *holdout*
Falcons are a mediocre team. The worry is that the Eagles look like a mediocre team. Maybe it gets better as the season goes on. The struggle bus is real.

I mean saquan dropped an easy catch and they would've converted game over, tbh the bigger mistake wasn't going for it on 4th down

We want LENNY

No one was getting open
The Falcons have elite safeties. Probably smarter to try to scramble instead of trying Bates.
As usual, Mina, you provide excellent insights. I also enjoy your previews. Keep up the great work!

Great stuff. My favorite two analysts on ESPN!
any combo of the Mina/Dom/Bill Triumvirate is fantastic
Best analysis on TV period. Loved this ep. Mina always great but throw in Foxworth and it’s must see tv for football fans.
I'm expecting to hear at some point in the next a couple seasons: "_____ Lost to Bryce Young-Led ____"

Never doubt Cousins when he unlocks "f@ck it" mode 😅
It is very funny that they indirectly comp’d post Achilles Cousins to Dodgers Greg Maddux
Shoulda been Saints and Bucs as winners. Tampa went into Detroit and won with a lot of major injuries.
National Media hates Tampa. Don't understand either with pro bowlers on both sides of the ball
Regardless, looks like the NFC South may be a lot better than people thought
Kirk's only going to get stronger - we are back! Finally no longer an embarrassing mess
Bryce Young to a team with an older QB that he can develop behind, might be a good fit. Seahawks, Rams, or maybe even the Giants a good fit? Especially the Seahawks because they're probably too good to get a high draft pick in the near term for a future QB?
Love this combo of big brained football nerds
What is behind Dominique?
The Nine Squares.
What is in between the Golf Square and the Soccer Square.

I don’t think it’s unlikely Bryce gets back out there, Andy Dalton is very not good.

This is the best ESPN has to offer lol these guys expertly break down the game but you’re worried about hypotheticals that didn’t happen

Mina that laugh and smile. Wow but let take it easy on the losers the Eagles
They really don’t want to give the Steelers D any credit Atlanta just magically got much better
Shut up. No one thinks or says that the Pittsburgh Steelers defense sucks. You're making up a narrative that doesn't exist.
Yo yo yo
Hey Mina , I wanted to get your reaction to the Bills-Dolphins game. 11-1 in the last 12 games Mina. I love your work, but please, s little respect. LOL.
He has always been a Physical Down hill runner
"I want to start with the falcons"
talks about eagles end of game plays
Mina thinks Atlanta is a joke
These two are Dumb Jalen on had 6 incompletions and had 85 yards Rushing
What happened to Lenny?
That's the biggest mystery on the internet right now.
