My reality as a seller is sometimes pictures don't do an item justice no matter how u try and make it work lol. I also understand returns which I accept I just don't like when they send back what you didn't ship and eBay agrees with the purchaser. You would think being a 99.4% positive and a great seller they would see I don't lie and the purchaser did. So that also is a realistic as a reseller. eBay can suck for the seller in these cases. Anyway have a great day and great video.
The main reality for me is how much time goes into keeping up with selling on 3 platforms. I also experience the roller coaster of good sales and low or no sales.
Great sales for me it’s crazy I have a lot of time but most days no motivation. I love what I do but when I had full time job it was easier to just go go. I think roller coaster is what gets me.
Hi Jenn, happy Wednesday. Happy to see you have good sales again. I hear you on hard work! I’m still recovering from my shopping trip yesterday. I listed a couple items today and got my sales off. I’m excited bc I sold some really good sales to ship off tomorrow. I did count my bins purchase from yesterday. I bought 61 items to sell plus 7 items for our family. I looked at the receipt, and when you go over a certain pound the price dropped to $3.19 a pound. I am excited to start listing my items. I sorted them to list the winter items first and go from there. I’ll look for you tomorrow, Lisa from CA.
Oh that Capacity sweater! Years ago I was a manager of a Capacity store in an outlet mall in Nashville, Tennessee. (My daughter was a baby and she's 28 now, so that long ago. 😂) The store was FULL of those novelty sweaters vests. Any design you could possibly think of.
Hi, Thanks for the video. No sales today up and down on those. I'm enjoying sourcing and selling compared to previous job. Still have a lot to learn. 😊
You have to be consistent with listing. You sell more when you list everyday. Your items don't magically appear in your store . Love your videos. I look forward to watching them....
Sourcing. Some days are fire 🔥 Some days not so much. 💩. You did not always find BOLOs or even bread and butter. But oh what fun it is when you do. Thanks again for your content. 😊
My reality is time. I’d love to list ten items every day. But I have 2 other small businesses and a large family of grown kids and grandkids that I want to spend time with. Sometimes, my reselling biz has to take a back seat whether I like it or not.
I think it would be very easy to just assume it is all fun. (a lot of it is) but where all these items going? My biggest reality. I would like a single spot to put all my work area. So it doesn’t infringe on my home. I I currently stored in 3 areas? Shipped in another😳
My reseller reality is that it's really hard! Things sell super slow (I sell vintage glassware/pottery/porcelain/dinnerware).In order to satiate the eBay algorithm, one must list much more in a day than sells in a day which quickly makes one's house very cluttered. I started my reselling journey in 2022 and realized over this past summer, it's not sustainable for me as a full time gig given my current circumstances. Yes, I could sell things that don't take up as much space, but I currently sell what I love. Love researching, photographing and even packing. If I sold items with say a higher sell through, smaller items, my house wouldn't be as cluttered, but it would be a JOB. So at that point, why not just get a job? Sorry for the negative post, but that's my reselling realization and my heart is broken, because I really thought I could make it work (full time).
@@donaldanderson4225 currently I am listing 8 a day. I have 1300 items and that is just about all I have room for. I would love for it to be more around 1000 items though.
I feel like cost of goods is really high where I live. Dresses go for $12-20 at thrift stores here. No bins for about 100 miles. I’m still trying to figure it out.
I have looked for a tape dispenser like your big one and can’t find one, do you mind sharing what brand yours is and where did you purchase it? Also I use thicker packing paper to wrap my items in but I’m thinking about going to the tissue paper instead, do you buy that in bulk on Amazon or do you have a different source for it. Thanks, love your videos!
@ I need to do more of that. I have also found a few small independent thrift stores in wealthy areas that support a local hospital or nonprofit and they can be decent, though they are about half an hour away so I try to hit them several times a month on the weekends since I work full time.
Has anyone shipped an item I always take my packages to the post office and either wait in line or use the kiosk but I shipped 3 items on Saturday 2 of them were delivered but one of them is showing never shipped and I know darn well it was! I do believe this is some type of scam I don't know how they did it this is the first time it's happened to me has anyone else had this happen and then the buyer informs you owe them a refund when you know the item was sent can someone explain how they're doing this?
@JenntheReSeller we've had quite the conversation and I actually had 2 of the shirt he purchased and I shipped another one to him and he sent me a message after seeing it was on it's way he screenshotted it and said what's going I don't understand how it's on it's way I thought it was lost and you would just refund me
The other 2 items were delivered and he asked me right after I shipped it if I had shipped it and that's when the info saying I had shipped it disappeared

I am really sorry that happened to you. That really is awful!
We appreciate you and your positive attitude!
Thanks so much!

Thank you Jenn. It does get frustrating! 😊
Yes it does!

That makes sense. It’s hard to keep the motivation when there isn’t a set time or space.
Reality: All the work goes into the listing process -- the cleaning, prepping, photos, research, posting, relisting.
Yep!
The plaid pants will make for a great Christmas family pic
Yes they will!
❤ I love your videos! Thank you for the inspiration. I’m a new reseller (2 weeks) and I’m trying to absorb all of your knowledge!
That’s great! I’m excited to hear how it goes for you!

That’s wonderful Lisa! What was your favorite find from the bins?
I love your reality. Thank you for all the information.
Thanks for watching!
Even though the returns are few, I feel them more, because the items often are the higher cost items!
Yes, that makes sense.

Yes! Space is a huge factor. Before I moved out to my garage, I had stuff all over the house. You are not alone in that.
Do you ship most things priority? Do you do the calculated shipping?
I use calculated shipping, and most items go ground advantage. I do offer an option for priority, but most people choose GA.

How does the shipping work when you have your label made with a poly mailer dimensions the you switch to a box.
It was a Poshmark sale. So I can use any priority box or envelope. At least I hope I did that right!
Hi Jen, thanks for the videos . Do you list daily?
Yes. 6 days a week anyway.
How many items do you list a day?
@@thriftypickinz 8 new items is my current goal.
When you first started reselling how long did it take you to get to that 2000 a month
Great question! I think about a year.
