I have to say Aram, you're one of the few channels I watch every second of every video. It sounds like a lot of challenges but on the other hand massive rewards, you get to know so many different cultures, people and open your mind about new things. From videographer to a producer/director of top commercials... wow good things eventually happen right? 🏅 07:43 "what it goes in to actually make a film" - as you said clients they don't really know and in a way it's like creating art! When I make videos for TH-cam I think about so many things that I need and details... I cannot even imagine the scale of things for a proper film! But it sounds like a lot of fun. 08:59 totally agree that not sleeping is a sign of anxiety! And 10:36 how are you really!? so important and glad to see how this is for films... I didn't know it was such a close environment. Amazing and difficult, both will always be there in the career as you said. This is inspiring not just for filmmakers but I think there are so many things that can apply for other industries. Well done and keep up the great videos! 🚀

Dude right back at you! I saw your latest video go up yesterday but had to resist watching it as I was on a deadline 🤣 saved it for my morning coffee, very excited to see the bitcoin adventure!
And thanks man, yeah I think film is an amazing amazing world but has a lot of difficulties that are simply unsupported. I know so many filmmakers who do great things but really struggle with what can feel like a very isolating experience sometimes. Something I forgot to say is often you'll spend months on a project and when it's done it's basically "cool thanks" from the client which can be so demoralising.
I think the great thing about TH-cam is the audience kind of are the clients and they value it so much more. I've no doubt your new video took a lot of effort and planning, so much goes into film outside of pressing record. 🙌

Ah cheers man! Your praise is 🙏 still blows my mind to think about all the trauma and tough issues filmmakers are exposed to without any support but all the expectation.

This video's content value is insane! B-roll🥇 Your story from filmmaker perspective is so meaningful and inspiring, gives a clear answer why you do what you do. I did also resonate when you spoke about long and unsocial hours of work but - what unites us I think is pleasure to share your ideas and work. That is the most rewarding part. I hope this video will reach hundreds of thousands people, totally worth watching till the last second! 👏

Thanks Kris! Haha we'll see about the numbers but you never know! And yes absolutely, the more passionate we are the more hours we're prepared to volunteer, all about finding that balance to look after your health though right?

@@aramatkinson i gues that’s the tricky part where we need to find a right balance because it’s so easy to stretch yourself too much even though we do what we love 😌

Thanks for sharing some of the things you can experience being a filmmaker. I'm sure this would be a huge help for anyone who is self-doubting whether to pursue filmmaking!
I like the overall ambiance in the background and the music of the video, so relaxing. 😇. Awesome content!

Great points here and insightful as always Aram! The self doubt / imposter syndrome element feels super real heading into my first wedding of the year on Saturday (shooting stills) which feels daunting after such a break despite still being active with commercial bits here and there over the months between my last weddings late last year. I know deep down I'll do the best I can do on the day and put my heart into it, and once I'm shooting I'm so focussed that the anxiety doesn't really have a chance to rear it's head.
Really like hearing about your journey in these videos, as well as the parts shining a light on the more difficult aspects which could be easily overlooked or not mentioned.

Man you will absolutely smash it I've no doubt 🙌 the preshoot anxiety is inevitable but the more you do it the less you'll let it bother you. And glad you're enjoying man, it can feel annoyingly hard to hear the real experience of working filmmakers so hopefully I can help change that, much like Oli and Danny Gevirtz et al are doing!

Aram, we really enjoyed watching this video after completing two of your SkillShare classes. Thank you for the sincere and authentic way in which you share your experiences and expertise. As filmmakers ourselves, we are so excited to connect with fellow film storytellers and always be learning. We enjoy your style of sharing and look forward to seeing more of your art! We relate with what we have seen of your film art so far as we too experience appreciation for time and moments as we share in our short films a motto of living a life of finding wonder.

Thank you so much Megan and Wendy! That means a lot :) Was amazing to see you move your 'tiny house' and enjoy the experience, rather than succumbing to the stress so often associated with moving! Given me some inspiration to make moving a more exciting process than a frustrating one next time I move.
