She is really a nice girl. Her appreciation is expressed beautifully at the end. I feel so sorry for these rich kids being shipped off to boarding school. The way she expressed herself about the family outing and thst the closeness was so lovely and important made me feel sad for her, she obviously missed out on that and that part of her life is over. I truly don't get wasting $700 A month on childcare and then complaining how tough things are when your a stay at home mom, unless maybe she has some kind of health problem.

Yeah we don’t know anything about her. I suffer from severe depression and after spending months in the clinic I struggled to go back to full time, so now I reduced my time to four days a week. From the outside people might think I’m lazy but I struggle with so many things, I am so happy my husband and I can afford this additional day off for me. You never know. And even without health issues, people need a break, it’s not a 9 to 5 job

If she is a stay-at-home-mom not going back to work, could they reconsider the nursery 3x/week (maybe pare it down to 1x or 2x/week to give her a break, then bring the kids to free parent-child programs or find free activities that involve other parents and children the other 2x or 1x/week for the kids' education and socialization)? Or, if keeping the nursery 3x/week, she could get a part-time job for those days. It seems like a waste to spend 700 pounds/month on childcare considering their situation and these options.

A lot of childcare centres require kids to be there a minimum of 3 days in order to keep their place especially if there’s a big demand in the area for childcare openings.Childcare isn’t just someone keeping your kid alive for a few hours it’s often akin to preschool where kids are taught many things in addition to the socialization they get with other kids.Plus a lot of smaller towns don’t have a lot of other groups…especially free groups and even if they do there’s often limits on how many can be in those groups. They may very well have other options,I don’t know but that’s how things work where I’m from.

Why is Seb in daycare with a stay at home mum. Seb is still young there isnt a need for him to be in daycare.. Thiis would give the family an extra 700 pounds a month extra, which would allow them to live more comfortably. Im sure Mum can teach him nursery rhyme, numbers, counting, letters, name spelling, and much more.. yes, one day a week before Seb starts, big school may be needed but not atm. He is still a very young toddler. If Mum can't manage the children all the time during week while her hubby works, maybe she needs to go back to work herself to fund the daycare. Daycare is a exspenive luxury when its not necessary...

Why are they paying for childcare when she stays home? She could be taking him to places that are cheap or free to get him around other kids his age and she can teach him a lot herself. That $700 could get them a ton more groceries and outings for the kids. If they saved that money each month, they could have a family holiday! It makes no sense, especially with her husband never knowing how much he will make. She decided to stay home with the kids and that means the kids stay home with her! I get that she might feel she needs a break from time to time but for what they're paying is ridiculous! By her putting it at the top of the expense list tells me it's a top priority for her and not other things like rent/mortgage, food, bills etc...

    • @dendritolotl

@@lauriewu-jf5nh every stay at home parent deserves a break. It’s good for the kids as well. My mum stayed at home and brought us to the kindergarten for about 3 hours a day. For us it was like a play date, it gave our days structure, we met new kids we otherwise wouldn’t have met and played new games. For my mum, it gave her 3 hours to go grocery shopping, do some chores without someone needing something every few minutes, or even relax and meet a friend for a coffee. Kids need constant attention and I don’t see why parents shouldn’t get a break if there’s enough spots in the kindergarten. My mum is a kindergarten teacher herself (well, she was before she had kids and then later studied something else), so we did lots of singing, crafting etc. but no everybody can take care of their kids like that. Some people are overwhelmed and then the kindergarten is a safe space for the kids where they get food regularly and where they can be happy and focus on themselves.
I see the financial problem, but I would think there could be more governmental support or here we also often have parents associations where parents who can afford it pay an additional fee (it’s completely voluntary, you can sign up for it if you can afford it) and this way people who are less fortunate can participate as well

I think the majority of people complaining they pay for childcare have not been stay at home parents. It’s exhausting and it’s not a 9 to 5 job, you work from getting up to going to bed. Why wouldn’t they get a break? I think the problem is the lack of support in the UK, not that she needs support in taking care of the kids. When people didn’t use to do that there was usually more support from the community, but nowadays the mum has to do everything with the kid and the grandparents usually still work and cannot take the kids spontaneously. It’s a lot of money for child care and honestly, there should be much more governmental support for child care. I live in Germany, so I only have our system to compare it to, but here you can get a kindergarten spot once your kid is 1 - well, theoretically at least, there aren’t enough spots tbh. If you have one kid in kindergarten for up to 25 hours it’s a bit over 70€, if it’s two kids it’s 100€ for both together. For one kid 35 hours or more per week it’s 120€ and for two kids 79€ each, so 160 total.

If the government puts money into cheaper child care (which my stupid government did), where does the money come from - the tax payers! I raised two kids and paid for their care because I worked full time. Now I’m paying for my youngest to finish university - WAY more expensive than child care. I feel sorry for these kids on SKINT, they have absentee parents and all they want is love & acceptance. Sad, why have children?, only to not be there for them?

Imagine paying 100k a year for your child getting bullied by other kids because you don’t want them to get super spoiled and don’t want them to get all the designer clothes they apparently need to not get bullied. What a terrible school

i don't think they explained enough about why three days of childcare are needed leaving Some here to comment harshly against a mother who is working at HOME 24 7, and i am amazed at the cruel judgmental comments here against a woman who is raising a loving family, has a happy home and from what i saw , They, the husband and wife are not people to waste anything and have a loving clean home ....all this is enough to tell me they would Never waste anything unless there is a reason for it. plus a mother does work all day And all night...and what the heck i am a childless woman so what do i know. but i appreciate what i saw and what they all taught the young woman.

Dear Mum ... YOU HAVE A GOOD HUSBAND AND BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN⁉ WHY ON EARTH ARE YOU CRYING⁉ 😮 Be THANKFUL ❗ Life is SHORT❗ CHERISH it while you have it ... instead of crying for the lack of money❗

Exactly. They may not have lots of money but compared to the other families shown on this show, their home is way nicer and they own it (they’re paying off a mortgage, not paying rent).

I am so damn confused, so your child care costs more than your mortgage.. But you're a stay at home mother.. Can you please make that make sense.. I stay at home because it's cheaper than paying childcare. I'm not going to work to pay someone else to take care of my children..😂😂

Sahm that pays 700 for childcare? 🫠🫣 "sacrifice to survive of his meager wages", but wasting the bulk of their money on childcare just don't make sense...honey don't cry, get a job or watch the kids 🙈
