Army tactics, once modified for airsoft's differences (higher ammo counts, much shorter distances, more bravery) work quite well in outdoor fields, but aren't very good for indoor stuff. Peeling, pepperpotting, suppressing, arcs, all round defence, stock phrases, all useful and usable. In a game where grenades kill everyone in a room as a rule knowing how to stack a door and buttonhook through it isn't nearly as useful.
@@robertjohnson5106 I imagine that's because you went about it in an extremely belligerent and arrogant way. We've also not said the same thing: in my experience the tactics I was taught for FIBUA translate poorly to Airsoft, you've suggested "all" tactics taught by the military work just fine. As he's ex-UK military I imagine he's been taught plenty and can draw fair comparisons from experience, comparisons I generally agree with.
Just watched your video. 100% agree with you , however, without that military background, my opinion is that we as ex soldiers wouldn't have that tactical awareness when going into a cqb scenario. Even in a rural, woodland, etc, I'd stay motionless to gain awareness, and I'd hear people crashing through the bush , as we'd ghost walk and be more aware of my surroundings. I do think vetrans have a better advantage in airsoft, especially in defending a position where you can advise your team the best place to set up a defensive position. The biggest thing i love about airsoft is that everyone comes home alive after the day is over. Keep up the good work m8.
@@NamesNicco it changes so much over the years. I joined in 1991, came out 1999, came home to Northern Ireland and joined home service RIR, the difference in drills was mind blowing to home service to what we were taught for the rest of the world, and I'd say with the generation that's today our military will change dramatically over the next 2 decades or so🤣🤣🤣
"I'm up! He see's me! I'm down!" Most of my CQB Clearing training gets me trades or flat out shot on an indoor field. Firing from outside the threshold is infinitely better than rushing in and clearing. Buttonhooks = trades. Squared up weapon presentations (plates toward enemy) = easy target, always getting hit. Running the rabbit seems to work perfectly, though! Holding opposing corners seems to work, too (think clearing a T shaped intersection). I've been loving playing indoors, has really upped my cqb game since being out of the service.
I've never been in the military, or played airsoft, but this video was explained well enough for me to understand and appreciate the differences in tactics because of the difference between plastic bb and little bits of flying metal
Me and my friends have started playing airsoft more often and we have begun to use the movement tactics of the military. We don't do it in pairs, but rather we move one person at a time and have taken 4 people and overtaken a locked down position with almost no losses everytime.
The speedqb guys have it pretty much figured out for airsoft CQB. I think another difference is just the delay of a BB hitting a person means you can often move freely between cover more often than you should be able to, when I'm playing I'm constantly thinking about how far the player aiming at me is and how long I've roughly got to peak out or move, I think that mindset would be reversed in the military where peaking or moving out of cover could result in being instantly hit. You also can't supress a position properly because they always have the opportunity to peak out and get a few shots off if it's far enough away.
My dad (an ex para)he played airsoft and he decided to play after he came from Afghanistan and someone shot him in the balls so next round he started to do cqc like an actual warzone and he got banned becuase he shot people in the face and pulled people through windows and doors and really going full squaddie and now now tryna get him back into airsoft but he's one stubborn man 😂
the peeking technique you bring up is pretty much how competitive airsoft/speedsoft is played (Valiant Airsoft for a good example), intel gathering and gunfights both being done with lots of quick peeks. what i find most interesting about this topic is that iirc Garand Thumb was pretty much opposite on his opinions, praising airsoft for practicing proper CQC and bringing up concerns over open/woodland fighting due to the limited range and travel-time of BBs. Guess at the end of the day its all about mindset, are you there to LARP/practice real-steel techniques or are you there to be good at airsoft? this is a good one boss i enjoyed it a lot
I fought a few airlift battles with a squad of four man firearms, made up of veterans and currently serving soldiers. With simple squad tactics we Consistently dominated opponents with 2-3 times our numbers. We used cheap Motorola radios for comms as well as having a man scan and hot Mike the enemies comms. It all worked well in hilly woodland terrain.
Army cqb tactics are heavily dependent on surprise, however in airsoft cqb, you KNOW somebody will come through that doorway sooner or later. At least that's my working theory.
And that's why u see the tactics that where teached r differential from what u see in real life like in israel or Ukraine. Or even back in syria. Suprise works the best in a hostage situation or in a police like scenario
irl also pointman usually gets hit, thats why you blow a hole in the wall, breaching charges, bangers, frags, and you rely on the effects of loud af gats going off.
I sadly wasn't in the army, because of my eyes. But I did some training with an airborne soldier and instructor. We trained on the peeling off, falling back. But also going forward and taking Fire positions, switching positions. We've used this in the field with 4 ppl and we end up pushing the enemy team back into the spawn. To the point where the The marshalls had to step in and had to send us away because they couldn't exit the spawn ^^. We also had done this with taking a spot, hold it and peeling off back towards our lines.
F&M defo works in airsoft as long as you have people that understand the principal and how to put it into practice. You engineering the reverse pop shot is a game changer in airsoft CQB for sure! Aggressive plays for me is invaluable in airsoft, the moment you apply pressure to the situation and push offense you put them immediately on the back foot, in most cases making it impossible for them to get a foot hold. Use what you can to your advantage use the force multipliers when making the play, give them more things to worry about. Great video giving some decent strat tips for sure.

Former Kiwi Infantry, used to work with a bloke who went on to be a Colour Serjeant in the Rifles coincidentally. Fire and maneuver with suppressing fire in the open all works well. Taking cover and jockeying fire positions is also a big one, lost count of the number of times I've zapped people who kept popping out of the same point almost to a rhythm and ended up popping out straight into a BB to the face. Working in a team I've found using the initial shake out for a corridor BCD and moving into a drake shoot/cover shoot can be wickedly effective, especially at night before NVE started to become so prevalent. CQB is pretty much as you said, we don't have frame charges or someone putting an 84mm into the back end of the building at H minus 4 and all the stacking and button hooking corners is easily counteracted by the one pimply kid with a G&G covering the only way into the room from a dark corner. The biggest thing I see people stuff up on in CQB though is not exploiting the openings they create, once you take a couple out and break in it's so hard for them to react to quickly and before they know it you have rolled them up. I didn't stay in long enough to be taught FIBUA (not sure it was a big thing in the 80's anyway). That said, what I've read of WWII tactics is not like airsoft (and possibly the assumptions behind FIBUA training today). On the offence, go in through the roof and work down (via ceilings), clearing rooms with grenades. On the defence, boobytrap hallways and shut doors, make loopholes & rat-runs through the walls and between houses, lay alarms, furniture obstacles & barbed wire, remove sections of staircases, make sandbag barricades inside rooms... And as you say, shoot through walls and doors :)
Very good topic! By my expirience we do like this: Advancing and retreating. If it is done as you show in video, I found thats not optimised for airsoft replicas that we use. Is you move 10m behind 1st group your range is 10m shorter wich is significan in airsoft. Insted go 10m behind 1st group you retreat in line with them and now you have same range, more firepower as team and more protection. Also, you spend less time in moving back and have only one disadvantage insted two (when 1st group moving back, 2nd stay alone in line compare to alweys 1 group is in line by your method). Great video, keep them comming :)
Yeah, I’ve had the same experience when been at Combat Airsoft as it all FIWAF because pepper potting forward and back helps but hand signals are probably the best thing for Airsoft and also doing some snap ambushes as well
I would as a Milsim yes but just a little once for normal Airsoft such as enemy and how many and direction because I did that with my brother and who is in the Navy and was in the British Army doing frontline infantry and then me and my brother was able to conduct the snap ambush on some guys are coming towards us and we got the Kills for just due to hand signals
I’ve heard of the same concept from John from WPS a few years ago quick peep with the head and drop down to engage the enemy to claim that you came up with it is wild also most walls are not bullet prof
The exact video our community needs to actually stop peeking with their whole body out. Legit like 2 months ago we did the exact same video talking about jiggle peeking and how cool military tactics just don’t work in airsoft.
Go look at a guy named project geko, snap shooting has made its way in a modified way into the military. When I did sim round training or miles I did the snap shooting and it works irl as well. The key is to peak out shoot one round and pop in then drop and pop out for longer for more accurate shots.
If Airshofters were going to use Army tactics you'd need some JTAC's on the field calling in the Air Force for some CAS. Which with some drones or something could actually be hilarious.
@NamesNicco I mean, my old man was an A-10 squadron commander during Desert Storm, have him teach the drone pilots tactics and obviously you can get JT to teach the JTAC side lol
@NamesNicco Next time you're back here in Boerne I'll let you do the typical army thing when it comes to hog drivers and you can buy him a drink lol jk. Keep it easy brother.
A few years ago I took part in the CQB level 1 course by project gecko, where I learned many useful tactics for live fire conflicts. I adopted most of it and became a way better player because of it. Now the next step is to adapt speedsoft tactics? Okay, will try👍
Real world, I'm doing th exact same thing as airsoft except I'm not pre-peaking with my head to lt them know I'm there. I'm peaking with my gun up and "pieing" the angle, you didn't really do it justice in the video, if done right it's by far the best tactic.
The differences are the Military train 24/7 for weeks as a section/platoon/company and take it seriously. In airsoft, it is a random bunch of people. The big difference is in the military when you are shot you can't come back for the next game. So whilst they are superficially similar, they are very different.
I love Vietnam Airsoft because the topography and flora of a jungle works really well for the stunted distances of Airsoft. Talking to some veterans they said 5 meters was a typical engagement distance in their AO.😮 That’s why a lot of veterans shot from the hip and got proficient doing so. My property isn’t a jungle but it is a very dense temperate forest. 👍 Really like your channel! Thanks!🇺🇸🫡
The biggest difference between real life and airsoft is danger. People are a lot more cautious and risk-averse when there's the potential to get unzipped by a mag of 7.62 vs a 6mm BB.
Yo Nico my Name is Jonas and i‘m from germany. I love your Airsoft Content. Pls keep it up. Can you do a gameplay vid at the dark emergency next year - it is the biggest airsoft Event in germany with up to 3000 people. I would love to See you there
100% with you... There are 2 things you can't replicate in airsoft... 1) Fear of death. Even if the respawn is 20 km's away... people will not fear getting shot... more likely they will not call their hits. Having a live round fired at you is totally diferent of a bb hiting your wall... 2) Boredom. Even in a long event, one can't replicate the boredom of patroling the same road, every day, for 1 month... Players are allways on a diferent state of alert, harder to suprise them... thus your problem with cqb tactics transition (I think). Regarding that, i separate cqb in 2 fases... before and after shots fired.
I think overall the tactical crossover does have some use, it’s the communication and understanding that will see a team of ex/current soldiers likely prevail. I think you’re right with the stiffness, for me, I’m robotic out of habit and very prescribed however I treat this more of a training environment rather than anything else and don’t want to start bending reality, train real fight real etc
Yo Nicco, how ya doing? What scope cam do you use? I've been looking forward to create an airsfot channel and from all the scope cam options out there, yours is the one that I've like the most. Really nice video btw 🔥
One real life tactic that wouldn’t work very well in airsoft would probably be to soften the objective with artillery. I feel like that may possibly be against the rules at any field you go to.
@@NamesNicco my pleasure bro .since iv being doing Airsoft I. Keep up the good work. I hope you have a good day.
@@NamesNicco haha no worrys in the video you are only looking 1 direction (ie corner fed room) but how would you use the same tactic if the room is centerfed. When peaking you would have a danger area to your back. Also how do teammates help out or do they wait?
That quick peek is good, but in my place, the engaging distance often too short which we might not able to dodge the shoot even with that speed In my place, we usually do level changing with the quick peek, that increase the reaction time of the enemy players and more time for us to back in cover
Hey Nico, thanks for the video. I haven’t yet seen any information or tips of Forrest tactics and forest CQB where there are only thin trees, and sparse bushes as cover. Furthermore, twigs snap and reveal your location. Many times, I’m engaging enemies in front of me but get shot from my 3 or 9 from an enemies I did not see or hear. I find information gathering in forests much more difficult because you have to spot enemies in a dense forest. Moreover, how do you recon and spot ghillies and enemies camping and kept hidden, what’s the procedure on those? Please make a video or advise on how to conquer l CQBs in forests. Very much looking forward to your reply. Thanks.

Ty man! There’s more coming don’t worry :)
Yeah, I’ve had the same experience when been at Combat Airsoft as it all FIWAF because pepper potting forward and back helps but hand signals are probably the best thing for Airsoft and also doing some snap ambushes as well
I should have mentioned hand signals your so right, maybe do a separate video on that!
13:24 I saw a lot, I said in his videos, so I trained and today when I do it in the fields, people are enchanted "wow, how fast he is"🔥🔥
I’ve heard of the same concept from John from WPS a few years ago quick peep with the head and drop down to engage the enemy to claim that you came up with it is wild also most walls are not bullet prof
Good thing i found this as im going to a CQB airsoft game in a week so knowing these techniques will Absolutely help
Cracking channel, matey. I'm looking to get into airsoft soon so please keep the content coming. BZ.
Thank you very much mate trying my best!
The exact video our community needs to actually stop peeking with their whole body out.
Legit like 2 months ago we did the exact same video talking about jiggle peeking and how cool military tactics just don’t work in airsoft.
YES 👊🏼
Go look at a guy named project geko, snap shooting has made its way in a modified way into the military. When I did sim round training or miles I did the snap shooting and it works irl as well. The key is to peak out shoot one round and pop in then drop and pop out for longer for more accurate shots.
Interesting 🧐
Reloading while bounding is wild
🤪🤙🏼
If Airshofters were going to use Army tactics you'd need some JTAC's on the field calling in the Air Force for some CAS. Which with some drones or something could actually be hilarious.
I can arrange it honestly 😂
@NamesNicco I mean, my old man was an A-10 squadron commander during Desert Storm, have him teach the drone pilots tactics and obviously you can get JT to teach the JTAC side lol
That’s really fkin dope honestly, cool dad mate.
@NamesNicco Next time you're back here in Boerne I'll let you do the typical army thing when it comes to hog drivers and you can buy him a drink lol jk. Keep it easy brother.
@HalfUnder thanks mate 😂👊🏼
A few years ago I took part in the CQB level 1 course by project gecko, where I learned many useful tactics for live fire conflicts. I adopted most of it and became a way better player because of it. Now the next step is to adapt speedsoft tactics? Okay, will try👍
Give it a try
Keep the content coming bud.
Hopefully more airsoft players will see it and inwardly digest... 🤙🏻
Thanks bro!
Ah the ol advance to contact, RTR, and either advancing or breaking contact!
Remember hard targeting, I’m up he’s seen me and down. 💪💪☺️
Good old hard targeting
You push the threshold with a body armour in real life. You are a human shield. Lol
Real world, I'm doing th exact same thing as airsoft except I'm not pre-peaking with my head to lt them know I'm there. I'm peaking with my gun up and "pieing" the angle, you didn't really do it justice in the video, if done right it's by far the best tactic.
Getting to the cover was fine, but I would bound to cover in buddy teams so you can have more than one gun suppressing at one time
Fair one
Man for larpers yall's clothing and equipment loadout is on point.
Thanks dude!
The differences are the Military train 24/7 for weeks as a section/platoon/company and take it seriously. In airsoft, it is a random bunch of people. The big difference is in the military when you are shot you can't come back for the next game. So whilst they are superficially similar, they are very different.
Great content as ever bro... Look like all the milsims have been paying off, looking trim dude 👏🏼👊🏻
Thanks man just back on my fitness 👊🏼
@@NamesNicco keep on trucking mo fo 👊🏻
I love Vietnam Airsoft because the topography and flora of a jungle works really well for the stunted distances of Airsoft. Talking to some veterans they said 5 meters was a typical engagement distance in their AO.😮 That’s why a lot of veterans shot from the hip and got proficient doing so. My property isn’t a jungle but it is a very dense temperate forest. 👍 Really like your channel! Thanks!🇺🇸🫡
UNCLE NICCO WITH THE VID WE HAVE ALLLLL WAITED FOR⚡️⚡️
⚡️⚡️🫡
Great video, would like to see more educative videos from you! 😎
We can make it happen! :)
I would love to See you there
Hey man I have lots of videos from dark emergency check my channel!
Cracking vid with great points. I just thought i was getting old.
Ty man!
Ye totally understand that take, Airsoft is so diverse you can get out of it what you choose.
@@NamesNicco and that’s the beauty, nothing more humbling than getting lasered by a 13 year old when you think you’re an operator
Ahahah watch how he did it apply details 😂
Really useful video!
yet again bro great contents .corner breaching.
Ty man ty :)
Yo Nicco, how ya doing?
What scope cam do you use?
I've been looking forward to create an airsfot channel and from all the scope cam options out there, yours is the one that I've like the most.
Really nice video btw 🔥
Sup man check out run cam
nice to see how far your channels progressing brother... ya prob wont remember me went high school with ya haha
No way which one and thanks man!
@@NamesNicco holden lane you came my house few times aswell in milton
That’s mental mate! What’s your name?
@@NamesNicco jamie felton
One real life tactic that wouldn’t work very well in airsoft would probably be to soften the objective with artillery. I feel like that may possibly be against the rules at any field you go to.
This made me laugh 😂 you won the internet today sir always appricate a good sense of humour
A excellent video and really explained too none military veterans
Thanks dude!
@@NamesNicco my pleasure bro .since iv being doing Airsoft I. Noticed my reactions have become faster than I was in the Military.Plus in Airsoft you don't have a section supporting you you have to clear a building yourself. As I did once at a Stirling Airsoft event.
Can you do a video on building defence?
That’s actually a good idea I like that.
If you know how your enemy fights you know how to defeat them
Hello nicco it’s my birthday today and I got a new plate carrier, it’s sick I’m also gonna get a pair of blocs with birthday money I’ll make sure to use your code
Happy birthday mate! Have a good one 👊🏼
Great video keep up the amazing work
Ty sir
thank a lot. I've wonder quick peek in real life. now you clear all of my questions
Being in the rifles is exactly like playing airsoft 😂😂😂
Where do you get your face shield from bro?
Nbtactical dude
Allright, which one spilled the coffe in the car? Also, Like before watching, obv☑️ great vid!
Thanks 😂👊🏼
As far as your pieing alternative, not bad because irl you’re doing this in a team but airsoft a lot of times you act in your own and they can’t out holes through the wall
Exactly 👊🏼
Nicco when I look at videos from airsoft matches I wonder why are they so short, man please make them a bit longer so that you watch one while eating and it doesn't actually end so fast
There’s not enough that happens mate that’s the problem
it will be cool to meet ya at bellum in sweden this week.
its just me or thats "vaqueria" in gran canaria?
Correct
Great video Nicco good tips 👍 👌
Ty man
This is great information about airsoft tactics that are different from the military and which ones work. This is really good and I think that it’s very useful and I would love to try it next time I go out, but there is something that you should check out it’s another channel, who is a American ex Soldier and the American fields here are a little different but they’re pretty good but back to this American soldier go check out his channel channel name Nikko Ortiz he does play airsoft and it would really be good to see if some of the tactics that you guys use are similar PS he reacts to Airsoft as well, but mostly does reacts to airsoft vids and also I do love these videos because they are knowledgeable and they can be also useful. Keep up the good work. I hope you have a good day.
Thanks man I’ll check out his channel!
Nico where did you get your mesh mask from mate?
Nb tactical
Cheers buddy
Thank you for your instructional video, it is of great help to me. Maybe you can come to Taiwan to experience Airsoft if you have the opportunity.
That be cool!

I love your videos
Ty man!
How does the peeking tactic work on a center fed room? Where there is more than one angle/corner where the enemy can be?
Can you explain abit more for me I’m trying to understand what you mean, maybe I’m being an idiot?
@@NamesNicco haha no worrys in the video you are only looking 1 direction (ie corner fed room) but how would you use the same tactic if the room is centerfed. When peaking you would have a danger area to your back. Also how do teammates help out or do they wait?
Have a team mate do the same Strat opposite angle or use people as bait 😂 (team mates) someone’s gotta go first… 😂
Can you teach me how to airport plz
I just did!
@@NamesNicco how
Nice vid bro
Thanks dude
Kit list video be cool
Can do!
I’m trying to reach out to you, what’s the best way to do this please?
Instagram DM or emails
That quick peek is good, but in my place, the engaging distance often too short which we might not able to dodge the shoot even with that speed
In my place, we usually do level changing with the quick peek, that increase the reaction time of the enemy players and more time for us to back in cover
How are you liking the osmo pocket?
Ye not bad you?
Hi mate, what face are you wearing? It's novritsch mesh modified face protection 🤔
Those sleeves🫠 Stand by. 😘
🌚🌚
Thanks.
The seven S is something I could make a video on
@@NamesNiccocould you elaborate on what that is, is there stuff on it that I can research as well?
Give it a Google
Where did you get this face mask?
And by the way: great video.
Thanks man and NB tactical
Thanks for the link and quick response. I've seen that you made mods on the mask to strip it behind your ears, right?
Ye man just show strong and no problem
Ok BUT what about an A-10 loaded with BB's?
Why’s that dude wearing British ranger patches?
do you care about your sights(couse you dont use a protection) or are they BB Proof ?
I don’t really think about it tbh
🇧🇷Excelente! Nem todos os grupos promovem treinamentos a equipes🇧🇷

That the Venom ghost mask?
Yes
Daria pra vocês fazer a missão de eliminação do PABLO ESCOBAR.

Hey, have you tried blast muzzle, or the device that you attach at the end of the muzzle and replicate kinda the real muzzle fire and smoke that you get with the gas expending? Is it any good or sucks even if it looks cool?
I have one I’m just waiting to use it!

Yes you are correct dont use Army tactics use Marine Corps tactics 🗿
