  • Yamaha Raptor 700 VS Polaris Scrambler XP 1000 S, we've come to the final chapter in our four part series to discover what's special about the Polaris' new class of sport 4x4 ATV, the Scrambler XP 1000 S. For our final episode Chad, Brian an Brent put the latest take on what a sport 4x4 ATV should be, the Scrambler S and pit it against the most modern take on the classic straight axle sport ATV, the Yamaha Raptor 700 to see how the ultra-wide Scrambler performs on classic ATV trails.

      Happy to help! If you're coming from a sport atv and you don't need the monstrous ground clearance then the Scrambler 850 is a good option.. We're currently building a Sportsman 1000 and everything we're doing to it would be relevant to the Scrambler 850

    I remember you guys first talking about the 55 inch width and you thought it was to wide. I was like what!!!!!??? A long travel 4x4 quad that's a recipe for awesomeness!! I knew you would think different after you rode the future of 4x4 quads. More suspension equals more articulation, clearance, stability and big deal go a little slower through tight stuff. Honestly how many spots could you not make it through maybe 2 or 3 times? Back east you have that heavy condensed woods, I know I lived in north carolina but I would make it fit. I like your guys enthusiasm you remind me of me haha!

    i just started to get back into 4 wheeler riding and his statement on the middle of the road quads is definitely true. there is a youth other 90 - 200cc options, that are really lacking. then it immediately jumps to 500cc and up. yeah, i know there is a few 300s in there, but i remember when i was 14, there was a huge market all across the board for all types of riders. I don't knock the liter 4 wheelers, but i can tell you they really aren't needed. they should look to fill the middle of the road again and make pricing a bit more friendly. but that's just me. thanks for the review.

    Polaris has never been afraid to try new things.
    I think it was actually a good comparison. Although I believe the scrambler is probably more suited for open terrain like the dunes or something.

  • @joshlowe670
    @joshlowe670 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I think these are both awesome machines! I have a raptor 700 and love it. The scrambler is also an amazing machine, but the thing that kills it for me is not having a manual transmission with a clutch. Ive always riden sport quads with a manual transmission, and the lack of that is one of the reasons I can't get into the new era of 4x4 sport quads. 😂😂

    That machine as well as the Sportsman S would be perfect on some of the Colorado trails I’ve been on. If I were to choose between the Scrambler S and the Raptor, I would pick the Scrambler S. Simply because of the rocky terrain I ride on.

I ride tight trails atv parks and all and I have yet to find any place it wouldn't fit or any place it wasn't able to go and do it great. Just had to point that out. The same way you see the front tires on the scrambler its just the same on the sportsman 1000S. It's hands down the best ride performance and reliability you can pay for. Love my bike !!!! I have a Polaris Outlaw 525IRS. I just bought a Sportsman (vs a Scrambler or Renegade surprisingly) to balance out my needs and address some of the shortcomings of the Outlaw. I honestly think there’s room for another version of a sport/utility hybrid in the market. If my Outlaw had bigger fenders and more “lugging” capability it’d be perfect for me. The kinds of conditions I want to ride it in (due to its ground clearance, suspension, and torque) are begging for components that allow for slower, messier terrain . The Outlaw doesn’t need AWD or belt drive, but a bit more comfort, extra protection from mud and water, and fewer flame outs on technical terrain (perhaps a big bore 2 stroke mill) would be great (also a pipe dream). If someone built a KTM XC/XC-W version of an ATV with a torquey 2 cycle 500cc engine, I’d be all over it.

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have you geared your machine down a bit? Having filmed and ridden The 525 IRS and the 525S, 1st gear is too tall for technical Technical rriting. Adding a couple teeth to the rear sprocket Would probably be our 1st mod. There is a guy who races cross country in our area who built a ktm 450 quad powered by a 300 exe motor.
