they sound great for live performance, I own 4 of them and for live they cut thru everything. for recording mmmeh. - also they break very easy, - for the price and sound they're a must if you're not a heavy hitter.
how long do u think the rock crash would last? i'm looking to buy new cymbals, but I really don't have much experience. I play heavy metal and often break cymbals. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? I feel like I'm just not getting the right type.
Those cymbals sound terrific. If I had some I would prefer the 18" Thin, 18" Med-Thin, and the 18" Trash Crash. My opinion about those cymbals is that they keep their sound and it would sound good in the studio or even gigs. The trash crash sounds very nice and cutting, I believe that cymbal has a nice washy tone once you go for a wash riding sound which sounds amazing for my purpose.
Performer set - www.guitarcenter.com/Zildjian/S-Performer-Cymbal-Set.gc ($429.95) LIST PRICE: $796 Rock Set - www.guitarcenter.com/Zildjian/S-Family-Rock-Cymbal-Set.gc ($479.95) LIST PRICE: $845
I am surprised that the thin crash sounds lower pitched compared to the Rock crash and Medium Thin crash. I'm considering buying the 18" Thin crash and Trash Crash as an addition to my S Series Rock Cymbal Set
The thinner the cymbal the darker the tone. I love my K Sweet crashes but i do have an S 20" trash crash. Moderate amount of distortion. It can almost be used as a main crash. Nice.
I own the 18inch Medium Thin Crash. Overall not bad in sound, but its sound is similar to my Sabian B8 18inch Thin Crash. These being B12 I think is still close to the B8 Range. I think they should of jumped it to B15 Alloy. Getting it a a bit on the darker side.
Any of the S crashes would probably be fine, or anything from the A Custom series or the A series heavy crashes. You could also look at K Custom hybrids too, but they're not as bright. If you look beyond Zildjian, there are Paiste 2002s, Signatures, and RUDEs, Sabian AA and AAX, and Meinl Mb20, Soundcaster Custom, and Classics Custom Extreme Metal.
Next time you guys should try to not made the voice so much louder than the cymbals. I had to keep turning it up to here the cymbal and then turn it down when you started talking...... Good cymbals though
Will they brake as easy as my zht 17" fast crash? I play stuff likr bmth or Linkin Park so I need a Crash that lasts at least 2 years. Wich Crash (thin, medium thin or rock) would fir for me?
+Lj Johnson Exactly - the reason most rock guys break their crashes is not due to how thin they are, but rather (A) bad cymbal technique or (B) the wing nuts being diled down WAY too tighy
+Axel Roy Prower ya i was gonna say technique...u shouldnt be breaking cymbals...u have to roll through them in a glide motion...not straight through...not being rude...just trying to help if your breaking cymbals...i was breaking mine left and right and figured out it was the way i was hitting them..havent broken one since...good luck...u can check out some vids on why do i keep breaking my cymbals.....climate can have an effect as well...
The Trash Crash Tony plays in the lineup is an 18", the shot of the 16" Trash Crash closeup meant to detail the cymbal was shot separately. Sorry for the confusion!
Jayson Plays Drums I have the S trash crash thinking it would be similar to the A custom EFX but the S has a lot of high end frequencies. Chimey even but not in a bad way but also has a nice decay like a K crash. Zildjian did a great job expecially with the S trash crashes you get that attack of the A's the decay of K's and the white noise of a china. Great job guys.
+Frederico Orion That's what I was thinking. I never had a problem with the lower end cymbals aside from the fact that they break so easily. I have all A series now. Got 2 crashes with cracks, and need to replace. Wish I knew how durable these were, because they would really fit my sound.
Hi i am a new drummer and i was hoping you could help me start out as a drummer. I own some cymbals from a Ludwig kit with your cymbals if you could email me back ant time that would be great.

Holy crap these are budget level cymbals?! They look and sound amazing. Bravo Zildjian bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cause they're nice and EQ'd
They aren't lol watch any other video on these

@@charlesaleal3309 it took about four months for a medium thin to break and i play with pretty bad technique so
how long do u think the rock crash would last?

I keep going back to Zildjian. I always try others but my Zildjian's are the best.
I got a Zildjian S 16" fast crash and i absolutely love it. It has this amazing post resonance that not many other cymbals have...
Man, those trash crashes are my favorite so far. Sooo trashy but also keep their cut.
Loved the sound of the trash crash. Awesome work, Zildjian cymbals
These cymbals sound awesome

These cymbals are amazing! I’m not a big fan of brilliant cymbals but being objective, these are amazing for the price.
I have the S series splash, that splash is my personal favorite sounds amazing.
I love those cymbals!!!! ♡
Amazing sounding cymbals!
They sound great, I'm anxious to see how you price them.

I am surprised that the thin crash sounds lower pitched compared to the Rock crash and Medium Thin crash. I'm considering buying the 18" Thin crash and Trash Crash as an addition to my S Series Rock Cymbal Set
I've got the 14 thin and love it. Looking at picking up the performer pack soon as my other cymbals are all trash.
The thinner the cymbal the darker the tone. I love my K Sweet crashes but i do have an S 20" trash crash. Moderate amount of distortion. It can almost be used as a main crash. Nice.
Much better than the ZHTs and the ZXTs for sure. Great job Zildjian
Sounds really good for a lower in cymbal series.
these are mid range zbt's are lower end
Great comparison demo!
Excellent demo of these cymbals. I'm ordering the trash crash right now. It will sound great with my A's.
Please make a S 19" Thin Crash.
OMG yessssss!!!!!!!!!!!!
Has Zildjian ever made a cymbal that DIDN'T sound good?!:)
+michael mattice zildjian zbt 18 crash ride
Ethan Yoo Thanks for the info Ethan...I will avoid the zbt 18 crash/ride:) Happy Drumming!!!:)
ye
+Ethan Yoo I'm glad you said that because I own that same cymbal and it sounds horrible. I've been wanting to replace that for years.
The pitch black series sounded like shit, buy generally Zildjian is nice
Did Lars donate that snare?
Bought a number of S family cymbals and they are way awesome, cheers Zyldjian!!! M*☠️🇬🇧🥁🤙
muito legal essa nova série da zildjian. qual á liga desse kit? obg
Liga B12
I use the 16 inch s series thin crash and it sounds awesome.
Yo, where we can we get one of those zildjian bands hes wearing?

At 1:55 it says on the trash crash it’s 16 and the guy tells us it’s 18
Sausiedancer24 Thats stock video. Not of the one he's actually holding. But a bit unfortunate, sure.
the melody i just heard... #Zildjian
So much better than zht. They need to try some b25 cymbals
I play a lot off metal/rock music and I’m a heavy hitter, should I buy the S rock or S medium??
The S Medium should be great for crashes and then the Rock may be better for the Ride and HiHats
I’m using an a custom crash 18”, my ride and high hats are just zhc, I’m looking at getting a zildjian k ride and paiste 2002 hats in the future
Sausiedancer24 the 2002 ride is amazing
But so are K hats
So what exactly makes these "low budget" cymbals? Are they sheet or cast bronze?
B12 Alloy
We know that. What the gentleman is asking about is the manufacturing technique, not the material. Whether they are cast or stamped out from a sheet.
They’re higher end sheet cymbals... one step below cast.
will the rock crash and the trash crash work for heavy metal? they seem a little breakable. i know matt greiner uses them
People please HELP! I am between Zildjian S and Istanbul Samatia?? Give opinion!!! thanks!!
what type of crash should I buy if I mostly play metal songs and hit it alot

Medium thin for sure dude!
The thicker the cymbals the easier to break which you would think other wise
And I'm referring to your open hand crash. The rock crash would be nice as your crash by your hats
+Lj Johnson Exactly - the reason most rock guys break their crashes is not due to how thin they are, but rather (A) bad cymbal technique or (B) the wing nuts being diled down WAY too tighy

Which are better, these or the A customs ?
Those s series
A customs.
i just got the 18" medium thin crash
i like it
fuck...and just bought the aax explosion pack
Rock crash for sure - even in Jazzy environments :-) we drummer, always compete with everyone in the band!!
Hopefully there will be S Medium Crashes, Normal Crashes and a Trash Smash (like the K Custom Hybrid) and there will be more 17" and 19"
Rock crash is top class
they said the trash crash was an 18 and it clearly says 16
The Trash Crash Tony plays in the lineup is an 18", the shot of the 16" Trash Crash closeup meant to detail the cymbal was shot separately. Sorry for the confusion!
still cannot understand if these are some professional cymbals, sure worst of the k or a custom, or not
Is there a difference between a 20 in A Custom EFX and a 20 in S Family Trash Crash?
Jayson Plays Drums the A custom is a b20 cast cymbal, the S is a b12 sheet metal pretty sure. The A custom also has a different hole pattern.
Jayson Plays Drums I have the S trash crash thinking it would be similar to the A custom EFX but the S has a lot of high end frequencies. Chimey even but not in a bad way but also has a nice decay like a K crash. sounds like my zht cymbals

The Clint Commander well to help prevent breaking you could be tightening the too much causing them to crack
