No. It may exist but I don't know of a zig zag that includes NEEDLE FEED. There are several that are top and bottom feed like the Sailrite and others but the zig zag that has needle feed is a rare beast.
A question I have what's the difference between a juki 1508 and a 1541 specifications are similar why one over the other thanks for making the videos they are very informative and helpful
I have a collection of 8 vintage Singers, all of the 66 bobbin class. I have two model 201s that are pure joys to use but, all of my vintage machines are. There is something soul satisfying about creating something using a machine you can repair, adjust and that could have a nearly infinite service life. Thanks for sharing your collection and knowledge.
I loved the special features too, big bubbins or a whole thread under table would be the best idea. I strongly believe sewingmachine constructions today should be much much better. Thx for the video anyway.
Very knowledgeable- and advice worth listening too if you want to sew canvass or leather I bought 3 machines before finding this out the hard way Wish I’d found Mr Dyer first of 😎
It's a remake of seiko lsw-8bl (which I have) or consew 255. It has second biggest bobbin size in industrial lockstitch machines. (the biggest bobbin is durkopp 767 series). Its every movement/timing is customizable. It's the best compound feed machine I have ever used. It is so similar to mitsubishi du-105 that you reviewed it before.
With the Brother as well as the Consew I would LOVE to see you do a head to head comparison including thread weights and various needles like Tapestry, Leather point, Conical and Blunt tips as well- You sir, deserve a large Bravo!
I just bought one of these for a back up in case my Juki 1510n-7 breaks down and needs to be sent out for repair. Same color as this one. Pretty clean. Not quite as yours is. took a while to find one and be reasonably priced. I owned a White LS2 B837 for years. I bought it new and sold it when I got the Juki 13 or 14 yrs ago. I know they aren't making parts for this but many from Consew Juki will fit. I never did have an issue with my White B837 in many years of hard use. So hopefully this will work out. I still super love the 1510N-7 and never want to go back to these manual types again full time. Been sewing professionaly full time 50 yrs now. Just about everything from Tarps to wifes household repairs. Ha.
I think you could do a lot worse to have this as a back up or maybe just have it set up with a different thread or a folder you like to go to every once in a while. 😀👍
@@AlexanderDyer I would love to leave it setup but don't have the room. So I will have to keep it under the stairway(only place out of the way) until I need it. Do you what colors for this machine show? my old one was White. I've seen them Grey and this Bronze as well.
Thanks for this video....and all the others.... There doesn't seem to be much info on the 837 out there compared to some of the other common machines. The 837 is a fantastic machine that does everything I need it to do and I use it every day for all my upholstery sewing. When I first got mine however I had a bit of a love/hate relationship as the safety clutch kept kicking in at the slightest thing. From memory replacing a couple of small worn parts and a slight adjustment solved the issue. But now it sews beautifully and I would buy another tomorrow. 👍

@@jimbobxcityguy5338 Hey there, just wondering what makes your Juki so much better. I own a Brother 837 and also a Juki Lu 563...both great machines but I often think a more modern machine with perhaps an auto trimmer etc would be beneficial. Even after all this time i sometimes neglect to hold the threads when stgarting to sew and cause a big mess 🙂
Have you ever matched the forward and reverse stitch length of one of these? I am in the process of setting up an LS2-837-310 which is the auto trimmer version. I am at almost 10mm of forward stitch and 5-6mm in reverse on machine spec'd to 8mm. Everything that you might think to adjust seemed locked in place with setscrews and location indents. I even removed the backtack solenoid in case it was binding things up. No luck.
No. Some machines just don't do that but I don't know that for sure about your machine. For example I noticed that the Singer 211A566AA lists its maximum stitch length in reverse as less than its forward in the service manual.
@@AlexanderDyer Thanks for the reply. I considered that it might be something you just cant fix. Seems odd to have to vary the auto backtacking stitch counts to try and balance out the backstitch so the forward stitch doesnt over run the back stitch, especially on such a nicely built machine.
Hi Alexander I’m new and have this machine and need some pointers ,anyway you can do a how to thread it and bobbin installation on this one and proper tensioning
I don't have this sewing machine any more but that is OK, I can still help. Look in the video description and find a link to the manual. There is a very good threading diagram in it.
