This is from memory only, but It's pretty close. Thanks for taping this for me. Several horses left the ground tie, one rider went way off course, after failing to remember how to "mount my horse" then messing up the brush jump, I was not sure I could remember where to go next, thankfully I was correct and I was almost finished. This was the toughest course I have done, because of all the prescribed changes of lead, and we are still working on this. Proud of my little Quarter Horse.
Must leave to the left of maze if you trot out of it. Pick up garracha pole from either side Must pick up left lead canter, go around merry go round, simple change or flying change after the middle of ring. Transition to a trot at cone, deposit pole in barrel. Enter the pool at a walk, step in front feet only, side pass to the left all the way around, then walk through pool all 4 feet. Go to end of ring at chosen speed, go into box, ground tie.
Pick up right lead canter transition to walk at first cone. Walk to next cone. Pick up left lead canter at second cone to halt in box for 3 seconds. Turn on haunches 180 then proceed to merry go round. Side passes to pick up rope. Keep rope taught go around clockwise, place string back on post. Side pass back toward cones, trot toward “in gate” go to the right around the cone,
Each task you were allowed 30 seconds to complete, the hay maze was next to impossible but some made amazing attempts, you were to back all the way to the barrel, pull a slinky up, and trot out forward - yea right :) John Lyons said he would rather see you go careful as much as you could and not take out bales trying to go fast, and he would judge you on how kind you were to your horse.
Pick up flag trot to bridge walk only over bridge, place flag in holder, place front feet over the ground pole, side pass to the right. (there was confusion, change in rules here) Thursday’s riders told to place front feet over pole THEN place flag in, Friday’s group flag first. To go hay bale maze, halt facing maze, turn on the forehand either direction. To line up to back through maze, best to go out to the left, but allowed to go out the back when buzzed
Make your own jump, remount must leave to the right, must trot to take jump, Right lead to stone jump, Jump landing on left lead foot, hard turn to left toward “brush Jump” change lead to right, I think they decided before OR after jump was ok.Canter to right halt with BACK feet on cone, wait three seconds, back up five steps, proceed to finish after picking up a counter canter, time stops AFTER running through the 4 cones, not to stop in box.
