I have been playing Blood Bowl on-and-off for over 3 decades now. I just recently discovered your channel and a (very) large group of people that actually TAKE THIS GAME SERIOUSLY! FKing unbelievable! I have even heard rumor you guys play for real $$$ sometimes! ;)
What we truly need it’s a How to Surf Guide with AndyDavo
He has several videos on the subject (seriously) --> th-cam.com/video/2L2c78HfTd0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PfskkSkBrX6ihfy7
Ahh...
My favourite sport indeed
MURDER BOWL
Great rundown, Andy! Love this format and general tactics discussion.
Well done!
Boom, there it is! Thanks as ever, very handy
Very informative as ever, Andy. Thanks. I'd have liked to hear about the situation where your opponent wins the toss and makes you receive in the first half
You keep the same strategy. Leave the ball and let the enemy move to it. Sure in second half, they start with the ball, but if things went right in the first half, it is no different than trying to score the second TD, except you have to do it twice than once.
Everything that has happened with BB3 convinces me further that no one at Cyanide plays blood bowl
Thumbnail is awesome 😂 good guide too
The problem with this strategy starts when opponent don't bother to delay TD's and just goes straightforward to score turn 2-3. Now UW's "killy" position is reseted with a new drive, opponent most likely still have full roster (best case is minus 1 player) but UW have less time to score and they HAVE to protect the ball, so they can't go full "murder ball" style of play (unless they do and loose the ball and another TD)
UW can score pretty quickly and easily with the GR and just reset the game to opponent has the ball, you try to murder them. As UW if they score early, you aim for a 2T TD, ideally with a reasonable foul on the first turn (after positioning scoring threats ofc). No strategy survives contact with the enemy perfectly intact, but as long as you can always be working towards killing people (whether that means what Andy described, or a quick score on offense to go back to the first thing), I think that is how you'd play it out in reality.
UW put up solid results in the last couple years though so they definitely have winning strategies. I don't actually know much about them. If you're an Underworld coach, what do you like to aim to do to win?
If we are talking about the big guy, tentacles used to be a fun choice.
And if you manage to have a goblin with 2 heads, having him grow a big hand, to steal fallen balls on the field, is an idea.
None of that is really necessary though when you have nearly fouled the opponents entire team off the field though.
This was invaluable. The anti-Underworld advice has been critical.
Best one yet, kudos mr davo, SUPER HELPFULL for both vs and against, the team choices in this game so far have been bizare however. total miss fire by cyanide but hey ho
Thank you very much!!
they are really fun. i have been randoming snotlings to get discount foul appearance and it has really been paying off. stopping the blitzer from moving on failed roll is op
It just makes them worth so so much and with only one chance to trigger before the snotling dies it seems suspect at best.
Nice video! Thx ! If you have enought inducements take the second Big Guy as mercenaries, it's better than the wizard. It's possible I did it but i dont know if it's a bug 🤔
I would like to see how this would change with the new errata. No swarming and guard doesn't add to fouls.
I might actually remake this guide.
@@AndyDavoBloodBowlPlease do, I thought it was fun to have a sheer amount of weak players overwhelm the opposing team, but after coming back to the game in Season 5, I was confused as to why I couldn't do the Swarming in the Campaign.
Regardless, it's disappointing that it was straight up removed, nerfing is one thing, but taking away something that makes a faction unique and not giving something back in return does leave a sour taste to players looking to try them out.
Hi Andy, great informative video. Would you say BB3 js worth a purchase yet or keep holdikg off for more changes?
What you want to do with your Goblins, or Snotlings is if they get MVP, roll a random mutation or agility skill. If it's something you can use keep them, otherwise fire them and get a new one.
I rolled a random strength on my troll, got Strong Arm. How best can I capitalize on throwing my snotlings and goblins around? Chuck one on the left side of the pitch, fake right with my Gutter Runner? Does my troll get 1 SPP for a completed team throw?
How would you change your strategy when using a troll? Blitz with the skaven blitzer instead of the rat ogre, but do I put the troll on the line?
Where are the time stamps :p Good guide as always though!
So basically, Underworld is just a matchup of "Hopefully you have spare treasury to buy new players."
You usually have the spare money to buy new players as it is usually the snotlings the get turfed and they only cost 15k. Easy to replace.
4th game since the patch came out where the timer froze and both players couldn't do anything.
I agree that this team is very bad for new players. I got into the game like a week ago and my first experience on the "ladder" was against this roster and it was so much unpleasant. Now that I understand a bit more the game, it is less bad when I face them, but it is still somewhat unfun.
Why extra arm on the gutter and not very big hand? Very big hand has all you need: makes it cettain you pick the ball on a 2+ whatever the conditions (rain, tackle zones) while extra arm is just a +1 so ...
Also I like the idea of horns on the rat ogre as you blitz all the time.
I was even thining about Monstrous Mouth. I guess a re-rollable 2+ and especially the strip ball prevention is worth considering.
@@CrisisChris81 yeah it’s basically catch+
My question was 'is monsteous mouth' the better alternative to extra arm and/or very big hand?'
And considering the Skill combination extra arm + two heads, why not go for +AG? (Both alternatives will cost 20 SPP and 40 TV, but you save one level)
@@CrisisChris81 i'd say it’s an alternative, but more niche.
Big hàd ignores weather and tackle zones, which means yoùre always a threat to pick up the ball which might force the opponent to try and pick it up (potentially failing) instead of leaving it on the ground. It’s a threat.
Monstrous is good as catch and against agile teams that have strip ball. That’s it.
Why extra arm over big hand on the gutter runner?
Because you can pass to him with the thrower, occasionally.
Skavens can REALLY MOVE.
@@WexMajor82thanks!
And if you manage to level it up again,@@ChickenC172, take sure feet.
Move 11 is borderline unfair.
17:08 I'm a bit confused about this section where you talk about the 2-1 grind and then say the team wants to throw out the traditional BB strategies. If I understand, you're saying around T5-6, you determine whether you think you've removed enough players to do a quick score in the 2nd half and turn over the opponent and score in order to win 2-1. If you have removed enough, then you're good, just keep murdering and let them take the ball where they will. If you *haven't* removed enough.... Are you saying switch focus, try to force the score, and attempt a quick score on T7-8? I think expanding on how to force that score might be nice. Since we've been focusing solely on killing, their position on T6 is probably quite secure.
Did I miss the counter play suggestions? 🙂
Couldn't find the section where you explain how Underworld auto counters Dwarves. Did you forget to add it? Or will it be added later with a Cyanide representative doing the explanation?
I mean it’s so obvious it doesn’t need explaining. Cyanide wouldn’t make a mistake now would they?
@@bendavy1816 True, how silly of me.
@@Kristofer__B no worries happy to help.
For the record, it’s because dodge is amazing vs dwarves, literally no counter to it
@@bendavy1816 I'm confused by this
I really thought this was gonna be a reel of you just randomly selecting players.
Is it just me or didn't it looks like it was painfull for you to record this guide ?
yeah thanks this garbage team , just did encounter one and did get 3 player sent off in 3 turn , just did concede , no point to continue ...
