The reason why hunchback is not on Broadway is due to the cast size. Equity the union that all Broadway performance belong to requires performance get paid a minimum of 2,200 a week. With hunchback they have a group of chores singer’s. By equity regulation they consider those people in the choir as the same type of performers, and would need to get paid the same amount. Due to the size of the cast and the choir group that would be a very astronomical ruing cost every weak. So it would be hard for the show to Break even let alone turn a profit. Unfortunately at the end of the day wreath we like it or not Broadway is a business, and like all business they run on money. Knowing this and the high cost that hung back would have, no producer is going to spend money to put on s show that will likely not turn a profit. When this was released Disney asked the composer to cut the background choruses so the show would be feasible for Broadway. Who every the compressor reused And said the chorus was interwoven into the plot, and was need just as much as any character for the story.
