I have been looking at some Merit products, and I thank you as an Asian person with a similar skin tone as you. I was specifically interested in the Tiger lipstick and it looks great on you, so I know it will be great for me. I did notice swatches on Asian skin tones on the website, but you never know how reliable pictures are on a brand's own site.
Same! I’m half Korean and really wanted to see the shades on an Asian skin type. I saw their Asian models too and agree, it’s not always the same in person. The shade she is using (Bisque) was the one I was leaning on too and it looks so nice on her. Btw, I have their other shades Slip and Baby for lipstick. I really love Slip. It’s such a nice nude on skin tone I have. I’m a light-medium olive tone who’s more neutral. Idk if this helps you but maybe. 😊 I have their eyeshadows in Midcentury and their mauve shade and both also look beautiful on my skin tone.
I have been SEARCHING for this type of video on Merit. Particularly for someone close to my skin type and shade (Bisque) I was looking at. I was wondering if it may be too light for me but it matches soooo nicely on you, and if anything, I’m a tad lighter and more olive-neutral than you. I got sucked in by their beautiful aesthetic and their eyeshadows!! I’ve never used an easier formula for eyeshadows and just love them. So I started looking at everything and now I want all their products nearly. This is such a great review and presentation, thank you so much!
How does Merit perform on mature skin? I’ve considered purchasing this line as my older daughter uses the product & loves it. I must say she looks natural & finished without appearing overly made up. I’d really like to see a video regarding performance on a mature face. Your video is very informative & complete. Thank you!
Excellent review - pls update with the eyeshadow :) I have exactly the same skin tone and have ordered bisque, Beverley hills and vachetta eye. Before I found this review! So pleased :)
The Merit stick is a must have. I’m Asian as well and Sand is perfect for me. But bisque would work for me depending on how dark I get during the year.
thanks so much for the informative review! i'm going to try more of their products now, i currently have the highlighter and bronzer and i just adore them! they have such an easy application and also the ingredients in their products are clean which is great!!❤️
I am truly obsessed with these lipsticks. I preordered a set of 4 after seeing the shades and packaging without knowing if I’d love them for sure but feeling optimistic. They did not disappoint. They are the lipsticks I reach for the most in my collection. I have tiger, baby, slip and l’avenue which sounds excessive but they are all different and I get pretty good use out of all of them especially since the red shades can be sheered out. The only down side is that they melt easily so a few of my bullets have shifted around a bit, definitely not a formula to leave in the car or take with you to let’s say a summer festival. I’m considering buying 1990 because I can’t get enough of this product.
I heard from a few people after posting this video that they had a similar issue with the soft bullets. Definitely good to know and I can totally see that happening because it's a more delicate formula. I hope that's something they can remedy!
I love their lipsticks. Slip is my favorite! I also have Baby but Slip is my favorite nude. You’re right, it’s very creamy. I saw a reviewer use it and it snapped off - but she had the whole thing rolled out and was being reckless in application. Try their eyeshadows! Such an easy formula and they last and don’t budge or crease. Their eyeshadows is what dragged me in.
hi, thankyou for the review as i was contemplating on shopping few items from merit.. really helpful video. Could you please mention which brush you used to apply the bronzer??
Others have hated this mascara but you have me interested. Also have you tried the Caliray tubing mascara? It’s been my favorite. It’s buildable and has a different brush than other tubing formulas.
It's on my list to try next! I'm working on a big tubing mascara round-up, but it's taking a while because mascaras take a while to test IMO. Lots of people seem to love the Caliray one though!
This was great 😊 so informative and thoughtful. I’m a natural, clean makeup person, very minimal. I’ve been contemplating a Merit first time purchase and have watched a couple of other lengthy reviews from Anna Edit and Hannah Louise Poston. I think today’s review cinched it for me. I am ready to dip a toe in with lipstick and eye shadow at least. And I subscribed to your channel. I look forward to more thoughtful videos. 🕊🌿🌷
Love your review and your aesthetics for makeup! Nice to have a realistic review from Asian user : ) btw, love your nail colours and their watercolour finish, what is the product you used?
Their lipsticks and foundation stick are standout products however I was disappointed with their lip oil. I don’t find it very moisturizing but that’s just me. The mascara sounds good tho, I may need to pick it up!
The mustard colored bag they send with their products is gorgeous! I got sucked in early by that bag and tried a few products early. I wasn’t too impressed, however. But everyone seemed to love the lipsticks so I finally caved. I was bummed when it broke on the second use and made a mess of the tube. I’ve heard others have had this issue, so while I’m glad I’m not alone, it seems like many people have had a different experience.
I heard from a few people after posting this video that they had a similar issue with the soft bullets. I can totally see that happening because it's a more delicate formula. I hope that's something they can remedy because it is such a beautiful product!
I found the foundation stick review so helpful! I gotta advocate for you expanding your Merit lipstick collection...your first review of the formula made me try it out and Millenial is a clutch every day shade for me now! It has shockingly unseated the Lisa Eldridge "Kitten Mischief" as my most used.
I tried the foundation stick as I wanted to cover Redness. I got a great color match and only need to use it on cheeks only if I don’t want to do a full face. I found it buildable.
I haven’t tried any of the complexion or cheek products. Although a stick foundation does appeal to me for ease and travel…even tho I don’t travel that much haha. The brow gel I also didn’t love, especially for the price. I feel like the Kosas one is better around that price point, but the NYX brow mascara has my heart rn! The lipsticks are so so good tho! I have slip but am debating on getting a darker shade. The lip oils I haven’t tried, but taupe has been calling my name for awhile 😌
I’m a powder product girl, so a lot of Merit’s products haven’t really called out to me, but I really do like their lipsticks. I’d love to see a brand review on Chanel if you haven’t done one already. They have some intriguing products, but since they’re expensive, I haven’t tried anything yet.
I'm definitely curious to try more from Chanel. I find that they have so many products that I'm easily overwhelmed, but when a product grabs me it really grabs me? My favorites are the Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint (the original one) and their Water Fresh Blush. I'll look into trying more from them!
What do you think of the customer service? I have tried 6 times to reach out and ask about returning and no response!! Be aware it is the worst I have ever seen
I'm so sorry to hear that! I haven't had to reach out to customer service for any issues, but I really hope you're able to find a resolution. That's really frustrating.
@@Bekah_Sun yes ugh- been emailing for 2 weeks to try and ask for return and no resolution- they have no phone number and now my 30 day window is ending. Just everyone beware when you buy it’s final…!:(

Hands down the most informative review of Merit I’ve seen anywhere. Thanks for all the information!
So glad you found it helpful!
Hands down! Get it girl!

Your shirt looks very cute. Love the warm browns paired with turquoise earrings and colours of the make up.

Such a well done review! Thank you!
This video was done very well. Your delivery was spot on. Editing/lighting .. all great.
Thank you for this video
I would love to see you do a brand review on Rose Inc, both their skincare and makeup.
Definitely on my list! A few other folks mentioned Rose Inc. too. Thanks for the suggestion!
I enjoy this style of video. Very thoughtful and informative.
Great review!! Thank you!! I have combo skin too so it is nice you mentioned that and how these products react with that skin type
Hi Bekah, Thank you for sharing!
I love your style and the way you describing the product. Your video helps me improve my English.😊
This makes me so happy to hear. Thanks for hanging out with me!
What the! Every lip colour looks great on you!
So true! I don't love when makeup brands release skincare-- like NO, just stick to makeup please. I go to skincare brands for skincare. 😏
Haha I know exactly what you mean. I did just get the new serum in the mail, so I'll report back!
Sold on the stick! Thank you. What's your nail polish?
I love Merit! I have the 5minute routine. Recently bought blush and the lipstick.

I love the look you put together with the products! I feel inspired to go play with makeup now!
Westman atelier review would be great!

I loved the bronzer but definitely prefer the ilia blush over the merit one! I wish the stick had spf

Such a good review ❤️❤️❤️
EXCELLENT review, followed. :)
So glad you enjoyed - and welcome! 🤍
Thanks Bekah. My new love has been MOB Beauty but Merit looks worth checking out.
I really like the products I've tried from MOB too!

I love Merit lipsticks. I want to try the mascara because tubing mascara works well for me. Great brand review ❤️
It's a good one!
Excellent review.
What is the brush that you use to apply bronzer and blush? I see that it has one brush on one side and second on the other. Thank you.
Would love to know what you have on your eyes in the video! Love the overall look!

I may or may not have picked up more lipsticks after this :')
Can you set these products with a setting powder, to make them last longer? Or do you just use a setting spray.
You can definitely use a setting powder (and I do!) or even a powder blush or bronzer for added longevity. And I pair with a setting spray!
Do you find that the mascara smudged on you?
How do you compare seine from merit bronze and baked bronze from milk ?
Which lipstick are you wearing at the start of the video?:)
Wearing the Merit lipstick in tiger!

I'd have to say that this shade range is definitely not inclusive. The lightest shade is way too dark for me.
Will definitely keep that in mind - thanks for sharing!
I want their lipsticks and lip oils so badly! 🫶🏽
Also I love your shirt, where is it from? 🤎
The lip products are some of my favs! The shirt is from Zara like 5 years ago 🥲
