- Hi Everyone
We had a swift trip to the North West.
The Motorhome was booked in to have some work done on the suspension at Wallasey in Merseyside. (See our separate vid on this)
We stayed at Chester Fairoaks CAMC Campsite
At Chester Fairoaks we had a quick trip into the Retail Park and to a great pub chain for a meal.
The next morning, we were up early to travel up to Wallasey where we left the van.
Then a quick bus ride into the centre of Liverpool.
Liverpool is a vibrant city with so much to see and do. The Home of the Beatles and Merseybeat, plus a hugely famous football city too.
We didn't have long to wander around, but it was a lot of fun.
If you get the chance to spend some time in the city, it's a wonderful place of discovery. A rich history, with some iconic landmarks.

Looked like a fun adventure. The food looked delicious but the walk back a little sketchy in the dark. Cool to see the Beatles museum and other notable places near there. The clock tower building had amazing architecture. Well done highlighting the area. Awesome. Have a wonderful day.

We love Liverpool. Haven’t ever done it justice though. Two all too brief visits but you can feel the cool vibe about the place.
My first record was by the Beatles so it was good to wander around the first places they played and where they became famous.

A lovely look around Liverpool it’s somewhere we have never been too. Loved the Beatles. Buildings looked stunning along with the harbour. Glad you got your van stabilising system sorted. Just not long enough to see everything. It’s a brilliant place - the history and culture is amazing and there’s always music around somewhere
Apparently it has more listed buildings than anywhere else apart from London.
Well worth a visit.
The semi air suspension has made a big difference to the van, no more bangs and crashes and it reduces the sway around roundabouts and on motorways. Really pleased we had it done 👍👍👍

Liverpool is wonderful. It’s such a vibrant city. There is so much to see and do. And we only had a few hours - we really need to go back for a few days. Love it there.

I always use Google maps in the car but always have a map in the car as well as a back up. Love Chester, never been as much as I would have liked too but despite the weather you sure made the most of it and indoor shopping sounded a good idea. Always nice to eat on a recommendation, especially with 30% off and good food to boot. Never been to Liverpool before in my life and if I am honest, I have never fancied it, yet everyone keeps telling me its brilliant! Cheers Alan
Hi mate. Yes the Satnav we bought through the Caravan Club and Garmin has been pretty rubbish. Got us lost twice - it loses the signal regularly and messes up the last setting. So a map has come in useful 😃😃
We first visited Liverpool ourselves only in 2019. Loved it - we were only able to spend four hours there then and also this time. We really would love to go back and explore some more. So much to see!!
It has a good vibe about it. Cant explain it - a bit like Newcastle does for us. London Birmingham and Manchester just don’t seem to have that vibe at all.
It’s a cool place music, history and the Mersey. You should go for it Alan.

Liverpool is an amazing city - we've only been there twice now - and both were fleeting visits so we really would love to go back for a few days. Apparently, there are more listed buildings in Liverpool than anywhere else apart from London! Plus I always loved the Beatles as a lad and it really is a city with a musical vibe about it.

It is a fantastic place, with lots to offer and some salt of the earth people, but city living just isn't for us, we hope one day to move out to the countryside instead🤞. Hi guys. Yes we know what you mean. We love visiting the big cities occasionally but it is good to live out in the country. Take it for granted really.
But we do love Liverpool. Completely unplanned trip - we were just going to nip up to New Brighton but we ended up on the bus stop to Liverpool 🤦🏻♂️. Too brief a visit - we’ve been before on a whistle stop tour (again too brief) as our friends live in Formby, but we really must get back and see the sights properly. My first record as a kid was the Beatles so it was fun to see the Cavern. Missed out on the museums and the Cathedrals though.
Anyway, you live in a great place but totally understand why you would want to move.

Great trip! I’m really happy to see you can still get out camping even when the weather isn’t favorable. It looked like there were lots of puddles in your campground. It’s so nice that you can walk to town and pubs/ restaurants when you’re camping - makes for a nice evening when you’re not cooking and cleaning up. Liverpool looks amazing, of course we know it as where the Beatles were from, looks exciting to walk around the city. But the most fun is always meeting up with friends! 👌💕💕 Have a great weekend! Thanks Jen. Yep it was a great weekend and Liverpool is such a cool city. There’s a real vibe about the place music everywhere and so much history too. Plus the football is like a religion in Liverpool.
We enjoyed meeting up with our old friends and also Desmond’s Donders from YT. Such lovely people.

Yes, you did. You said they were old. 😂😂. Nice. caravan park, but man, was it wet. So much rain for you guys this season. Love the FLORRIE on the front. That'll be nice to have done. Looks like a great place to shop. I'd like to try my hand at knitting or crochet. My mom used to do it. Looks like a nice place to eat. Always wanted to go to Liverpool. The architecture is really something. My fav is the state of the Beatles.

Yes we have had so much rain. Wettest February on record. Then a few good days and now back to rain again!
We had a great and successful trip. Liverpool was a completely unplanned visit even though we were just across the Mersey from the Centre. We loved it. We have been once before - a brief four hour visit - like this one - and so we really want to go back and explore properly. So much history, more listed buildings than anywhere but London! And yes, the Beatles story is brilliant really - my first ever record was a Beatles single. The whole city has a vibrant vibe - music, culture and football.
Really really must get back there soon.
Ah guys Chester and Liverpool are fabulous and you looked like you had a great time. We do like Cheshire Oaks for shopping, eating and cinema so it was great to see it again here. Loved the sunrise at the site. Great Liverpool footage of the Beatles museum, docks and cavern, we have actually done some filming here at Liverpool too which needs editing! 😃 That was great 👏👍~ Anna

Cheers mate. We really should visit the city for a couple of days. We’ve managed two short whistle stop trips but there’s so much to see and do. The harbour and the Mersey is fascinating and the Beatles stuff and music vibe is great

Happy Sunday Dave and Sue! I see that that fire blanket is still in place on the wall, so that is a good thing! And you have had some different days as you wandered around from Chester to Liverpool, so with Florrie you have the chance to experience both remote and crowded places. But I have the feeling that you prefer the countryside to the city! As for the walk home in the dark I saw that you had no reflectors on (and you made the comment about hi-vis on the way). Here in Norway several clothes brands actually put reflectors on clothes as part of the design so you have some additional safety, but personally I usually bring with me small reflector bands in my bag that I can put on my arm and leg for safety (and when I run I wear LED-lights so I look like a Christmas tree). Being a pedestrian on a dark night when the weather is not good is no joke, so care is needed. And looking forward to your modifications to Florrie and how that will turn out! Yep we do prefer the country sites. Didn’t enjoy Chester or the next one South port much. Strange sites - near towns but they feel a bit sterile.
But Liverpool is a wonderful city. We really need to go back there and explore a lot more. So many amazing museums and incredible architecture
The twin Cathedrals are worth a day on their own. We’ve only managed a couple of short four hour visits so we must get back for a decent amount of time.
Rural Wales next stop!
And we definitely need the big viz or the high viz strips for that visit as there are some country roads to wander along.

Made it. Catching up from the trip still. That bloke at the end has a great beard. I grew up on the Wirral and in and around Liverpool and most of the Beatles stuff was not there.
Wow didn’t realise that you grew up there mate. We really must visit Liverpool for more than a few hours. Would love to do the museums justice - it was a completely unplanned trip. We were supposed to get a courtesy car and we were going to go up to New Brighton. But in the end we walked to a bus stop - and then crossed over to the other side and ended up in the City😃
That area is often overlooked for travelling around ,there’s some really pretty areas around there .

Rather a paper map over anything...I too have been taken to places that I didn't want to go...even dead ends that were suppose to be a shorter route! lol You look so happy to be going shopping, Dave! lol You need to pack a couple reflective vests in that bag of Sue's. Otis has one and you should see how he lights up at night when a car approaches at night! The Beatles!! That was a cool statue! A couple great days and time with friends too! Awesome!

The two Cathedrals are awe inspiring - the architecture is incredible and the history so fascinating. And then there’s the music - the Beatles just a part of the whole vibrant vibe of the place.

A very impromptu trip from us. We got a cancellation for the suspension work to be done in Wallasey so we met up with Dave and Lindsay plus some old friends on the Saturday. All a bit rushed in the end and we came back with the “mean ol bug”. Just recovering now. 🤦🏻♂️. We’re taking a bit of time out as we’ve probably overdone it 😃😃

We enjoyed Chester Fairoaks site but our second visit a couple of years ago was disappointing. The site had become a little untidy. The shopping outlets are far too tempting and we spend too long there 😃 Never tried that pub, looks like we missed out 😛 Our visit to Liverpool was like your experience - simply brilliant - And we will return for another look around in future. Nice to catch up with old friends. Looking forward to see how you got on with your suspension mods 👍🏻😃🚐 Trev

We overdid it a bit on this trip, tried to fit too much in. 😃😃. Yes, the Chester site was ok - fairly standard Club site - but it was just an overnighter for us.

The air suspension is amazing! Different drive completely - no more crashes and bangs over potholes and a much reduced sway on roundabouts and on motorways.
Very glad we had it done - a trip in high winds across the A66 convinced me in the end 😃😃
