I wish that I could have met her before she passed. She was an awesome Irish woman. Proud of her heritage and a fighter. Just watched The Quiet Man again the other day. I have lost count how many times I’ve watched it. That is one of the first movies I remember seeing her in. Every movie I have seen her in she has always been outstanding. Erin Go Brah 🍀

So glad I happen on this story about Maureen O'Hara. I didn't know she was really Irish so the movie with John Wayne makes it even more wonderful. I loved her movies and love she remained true to her beautiful home of Ireland. Such a blessing to her beautiful country. From Texas

My mom was a HUGE fan of John Wayne so I grew up on his films which I also enjoyed, then she showed me MCLINTOCK and I fell in love with Maureen O'Hara, then came the Quiet Man and I fell in love all over again to this day if someone asks me "What's your favorite Irish dish?" My answer is ALWAYS Maureen O'Hara and I will always feel that way, what a woman

I am from the US but I understand where Maureen O'Hara was coming from! Good for her! I'm glad she was determined to have her country Ireland, recognized and I remember she mentioned Ireland on interviews and that is one of the endearing things about her. She was a determined woman and John Wayne really respected her as well as her fans.

Maureen O'Hara was the one name that comes to mind for me when you ask about great actresses from the Golden age of Hollywood. Back when it was a decent piece of workmanship! John Wayne and her made the perfect on set couple 💑 "The Quiet Man" (1951). (That film and "The Barbarian" (1958) were my two favorite movies with "The Duke") Great job bringing back the memories of Maureen O'Hara and the best movies of all time!

So enjoyed our stop at the Foynes Museum on our tour of Ireland 10 years ago. Always admired Maureen’s work starting with Parent Trap back in my childhood. Not “correct” today, but so enjoyed McClintock. We shared red hair, green eyes and fair skin. Unfortunately my fair skin included non stop freckles inherited from my Irish grandmother. Maureen was a beautiful lady, inside and out.
